SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Visitors to the Washington Pavilion can learn all about agriculture's influence in South Dakota, and beyond. Ag Day in the Pavilion lobby includes drone and sprayer simulators, baby piglets, an interactive market and SDSU ice cream. The hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.
The Dakota Territory Gun Collectors Association is hosting a Gun Show this weekend in Watertown. Long guns, handguns, ammo and other items will be available to see, buy or trade at the Codington County Extension Complex. Today's hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday's hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $10.
The Dakota Southeastern Division Model Railroad Club is hosting the Greater Sioux Falls Model Train Show at the Multi-Cultural Center in downtown Sioux Falls. There will be railroad layouts on display plus new and used model trains and accessories for sale. Today's hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday's hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10, free for ages 12 and under.
Zenith Art Studios is hosting an Art Supply Swap in Sioux Falls. You can buy, sell or swap art supplies at the Nordic Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be food trucks, crafts and live entertainment.

Sip, savor and vote in the Mash Madness drink competition in downtown Sioux Falls. Categories include craft beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverage creations at 29 participating businesses. Mash Madness runs through the end of the month.

Meet the 2025 Miss South Dakota winner
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Just a year and a half ago, Jamee Kattner had never considered being in a pageant before. But then, a group of students mistook her for the then-Miss South Dakota. A few months later, following Kattner's voice recital, multiple people suggested she compete for the title. Man identified in fatal Monday I-90 crash 'Then I thought, well, that has to be more than a coincidence for more than one person to bring this up to me in the span of six months. And so I decided to take a leap of faith and jump into the organization,' said 2025 Miss South Dakota winner Jamee Kattner. And just this past week, Kattner won the statewide pageant- something she didn't see coming. 'Complete and utter shock. I think everyone thinks it can be them. But until you're down to that final two moment, I mean, I can't even truly remember what actually happened,' said Kattner. Now, she has three months to prepare for the Miss America competition. 'The first three days have been a whirlwind, and I'm assuming that's what these next three months will be like. A whirlwind. But yet I'm still so grateful for this opportunity,' said Kattner. For the next year, Kattner will represent South Dakota using her community service initiative, Melodies of Joy: Music's Power to Inspire. 'I'm constantly going into community spaces, EmBe programs, Boys & Girls clubs, schools, nursing homes, and spreading the joy and love of music that I have and giving that gift to others. Pickleball, yoga among activities at downtown event
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A summer series in downtown Sioux Falls is opening the streets to pedestrians. The event launched in May and will happen during First Fridays through August. A mother's message after loss The sound of pickleball will be coming to a stretch of Phillips Avenue this week. Remedy Pickleball Pub will offer a pop-up pickleball court Friday night in the Raven parking lot. 'We'll have it taped off with the lines and nets out and some loaner paddles and balls and just have the opportunity to come an play and learn the game a little bit,' Remedy Pickleball Manager Geneva Olson said. The pop-up court is one of many activities at this month's Open Streets event happening on Phillips Avenue between 6th and 7th streets. The June event is all about wellness. 'Put on your shorts and your T-shirts. We're going to be doing crossfit, we're going to be doing yoga. There's actually going to be a monster truck here, which is not really wellness related, just fun. There's going to be face painting, kids activities, Parks and Rec will be coming out with their mobile rec unit,' Downtown Sioux Falls CEO Brandon Hanson said. Hanson says the events are designed to bring people together, drive foot traffic to businesses, and inform future development. 'This is pretty underdeveloped. If you have ever walked in this stretch of Phillips Avenue, there's not retail, there's not food and beverage. It's really kind of this desert in downtown and we want to show that it doesn't have to be that way, and there's future projects that are being talked about in these blocks, so what does it look like when we fill it with people and design it to be people first?' Hanson said. And pickleball is just one of the reasons you may want to check it out. 'You can be 70 and play this game and you can be 15 and play this game and have fun. And so it's really an awesome opportunity for people to get out and get moving. Be social,' Olson said. The Open Streets events are put on by DTSF and AARP South Dakota.
