Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers blasts entitlement of media and fans over wedding

Over the course of his NFL career, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has become more and more private as time went on. Rodgers is the antithesis of the modern NFL player who feeds off attention, good or bad, and never saw a camera or microphone they didn't love. Rodgers delayed his signing with the Steelers this offseason, presumably because he got married. This became instant news, and the media really dug in on it, especially since no one was sure as to who his new bride was after Rodgers confirmed he was wearing a wedding ring. Advertisement But on Tuesday, when Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, he put the media and fans on blast, referring to them as a "sick society" for their sense of entitlement to information. Married or not, all most fans want to know if if Rodgers can finally get the Steelers over the playoff hump before he rides off into the sunset. Rodgers signed a one-year contract with Pittsburgh and the team is hoping it is more than just a simple stopgap measure and the team can make a deep playoff run. Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers hints at retirement: 'I'm pretty sure this is it'

Aaron Rodgers appears to be ready to hang it up after the 2025 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Tuesday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers was asked if this year would be his last — and this was his response: Advertisement 'Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is it,' Rodgers said. 'That's why we just did a one-year deal. Steelers didn't need to put any extra years on that or anything. This was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun — and peace for the career that I've had. I mean, I played 20 freaking years. It's been a long run and I've enjoyed it. And what better place to finish than in one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL with Mike Tomlin, and a great group of leadership, and great guys, and a city that expects you to win.' Rodgers has two records to break this season before he rides off into the sunset — another bow on what has been a legendary, Hall of Fame-worthy run. Aaron Rodgers says DK Metcalf influenced his decision to join Steelers

DK Metcalf is one of the most exciting Steelers acquisitions this offseason — but he apparently helped bring a certain four-time MVP to the Steel City. On Tuesday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, new Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers revealed that Metcalf — and his work ethic — played a role in getting him to Pittsburgh: Advertisement "DK is a lead-by-example guy,' Rodgers said. 'He's a big reason I'm in Pittsburgh as well — conversations that we had and just the kind of person that he is. At the start of the year, I didn't really know DK at all. He's like, 'I work out at six a.m. every day.' I'm like, okay, this guy has discipline, this guy has a drive. I said, 'How about eight o'clock because I'm gonna have to drive from Malibu to UCLA?' He said, 'Yeah, that's fine.' He's not just a specimen, but he's a really solid human being. He's a solid, solid dude, and he leads by example.' It's this apparent 'lead-by-example' attitude from Metcalf — coupled with Rodgers' admiration of HC Mike Tomlin — that helped piece together the exciting QB-WR duo in Pittsburgh.
