Actor William Levy arrested on charges of disorderly intoxication, trespassing at a Florida restaurant

William Levy, the telenovela actor who also competed on 'Dancing With the Stars,' was arrested Monday in the Miami metro area on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing, court documents revealed.
The 'Triunfo del Amor' actor was arrested after police responded to a complaint at a restaurant in Weston, Fla., a city north of Miami, late Monday night.
'The arrestee [Levy], who was highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance inside the restaurant was given a trespass warning ... not to return back to the business by the manager on duty,' the arrest report stated. '[Levy] was given multiple verbal orders to leave the property as [he] was ignoring [police] commands and was eventually placed into custody for trespass after warning.'
Levy was then detained at the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, where he was held on two separate bail charges of $250.
The 44-year-old actor made bail Tuesday morning and addressed a crowd of reporters outside of where he was being held.
He explained that he was grabbing drinks with parents from his son's baseball team when a heated discussion — that he claimed he was not initially partaking in — broke out.
'From one moment to the next a conversation broke out between some other people,' Levy told reporters. 'I got in the middle of it ... and well, I was the one who ended up in handcuffs.'
The 'Cuidado con el Ángel' star also dispelled the idea that he had pushed someone during the alleged altercation at the restaurant and said that it never became physical.
'There are cameras [that will show the truth],' Levy said.
The Times has reached out to Levy's representatives for comment.
The actor, born William Gutiérrez-Levy in Cuba, moved to Florida during his teenage years and went on to become one of the most well-known working telenovela stars. His first long-running role in novelas was in 2007 when he played the role of Larry Irázabal on 'Acorralada.' Levy landed his first novela leading role with 2008's 'Cuidado con el Ángel' and followed that up with a 90-episode leading role run in 'Sortilegio' in 2009.
He has had lead roles in six other telenovelas since 2010, including mostly recently 'Vuelve a Mí,' which aired on Telemundo and concluded in 2024.
Levy was named People en Español's 'sexiest man of the year' in 2011 and is sometimes referred to as the Latino Brad Pitt.
English-speaking audiences may best recognize Levy for placing third on 'Dancing With the Stars' in 2012. He also had roles in Tyler Perry's 2014 dramedy 'The Single Moms Club,' 2016's 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' and for his cameo in the 2017 comedy 'Girls Trip.'

Levy says that Starfighter will cover new territory in franchise storytelling and won't feature any of the major characters from prior releases. 'This is a standalone. It's not a prequel, not sequel. It's a new adventure. It's set in a period of time that we haven't seen explored yet,' the filmmaker said. 'The reality is that this script is just so good. It has such a great story with great and original characters,' said Gosling. 'It's filled with so much heart and adventure, and there just really is not a more perfect filmmaker for this particular story than Shawn.' Starfighter the movie is not related to the 2001 video game of the same name from LucasArts that was set on the planet of Naboo during the time period of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. 'I personally feel moved, excited, thrilled and I think it will be a great project.' The judges will be meticulous about who they choose as finalists. They must have 'discipline and respect for the audience and us as judges, all of those are ingredients that for me are very, very important,' Palencia says. 'In fact, I tell the new generation that, for me, discipline is actually even more important than talent, because sometimes it doesn't matter to have talent if you don't have discipline.' So, what were the main qualities the judges looked for? 'It's a band and, at the end of the day, I believe that there are many components that contribute to what brings success to a career,' Palencia adds. 'The [right] attitude, preparation and how they accept more than just criticism, but the constructive advice we give them,' Palencia adds. 'I believe that the winning band will genuinely work towards achieving all of those characteristics.' The show is set to premiere at a time when some música mexicana artists are facing bans in Mexico (if they sing narcocorridos in certain public settings) or visa delays and revocations in the United States. 'I had no idea that all of this could happen, which is both delicate and strong, yet sensitive, and definitely very sad,' Ana Bárbara says. 'Because it affects all of us in some way, it has an impact. We all admire the music of someone who is having problems for various reasons, beyond whatever the reason may be. This show will provide [Mexican] music with a different level of visibility.' The judges will also focus on emphasizing 'clean song lyrics and about love stories,' Favela says. 'It is nice to realize that music is giving us a chance to go beyond the musical aspect. To see our individual values, to see young people singing themes that, nowadays, I dare to say, are being lost, perhaps more and more. And that there is validity in rescuing all of this, which at the end of the day is the pure root of our Mexican essence.' It was previously announced that Lupillo Rivera, Fuerza Regida's JOP and Gabito Ballestero's will join the show as mentors. The first episode of Pase a la Fama will premiere Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on Telemundo.
