Trump accuses Barack Obama of ‘treason' over false Russiagate claim

Sky News AU22-07-2025
US President Donald Trump has launched an attack on Barack Obama, accusing him of fabricating the Russia collusion hoax, which tainted Trump's 2016 election.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released over 100 declassified documents, which showed there was no evidence that Russia tried to alter vote counts.
After the document release, Gabbard said, 'The implications of this are frankly nothing short of historic'
'Over 100 documents that we released on Friday really detail and provide evidence of how this treasonous conspiracy was directed by President Obama just weeks before he was due to leave office after President Trump had already gotten elected.'
'This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. This is an issue that is so serious it should concern every single American because it has to do with the integrity of our democratic republic.'
While hosting the President of the Philippines, Bongbong Marcos, in the Oval Office, Trump was questioned on the plot.
Trump said there should be 'severe consequences' for the democrats who got caught trying to 'rig' the election.
Trump went on to say Obama was 'caught directly'.

Former Superman actor says he's joining ICE, backs Trump's immigration crackdown

In an interview with Fox News on Wednesday, Cain revealed that he decided to join the agency after sharing one of ICE's recruitment videos on social media the day before. Dean Cain revealed in an interview with Fox News that he decided to join ICE after sharing one of their recruitment videos on social media. (Fox News) "I'm actually … a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer – I wasn't part of ICE, but once I put that (the recruitment video) out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy," Cain told Fox News host Jesse Watters. "So now I've spoken with some officials over at ICE and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP." Asked what motivated the move, Cain, who is a well known conservative in Hollywood, said: "This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing." Cain described the US's immigration system as "broken," saying, "Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It's what I voted for and he's going to see it through, and I'll do my part and help make sure it happens." Cain's public pledge to join ICE comes amid a significant acceleration in immigration enforcement, as the Trump administration is apprehending hundreds of immigrants every day across the country. In states that voted for Trump, ICE agents are most likely to arrest immigrants directly from prisons and jails. By contract, in Democratic-leaning states ICE is frequently arresting immigrants from worksites, streets and mass roundups that have sparked protests and intense backlash in cities such as Los Angeles. Most of those arrested don't have a criminal record. Overall, ICE is making more arrests in red states than blue states – both in the community and, especially, in prisons and jails – the ICE data shows. Dean Cain joins ICE

Dean Cain has signed up to work for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The Lois + Clark: The New Adventures of Superman actor will be signed up as an agent "ASAP" amid the federal agency's recruitment drive in order to support US President Donald Trump's scheme to boost immigration raids. Dean told Fox News host Jesse Watters he had decided to join ICE after the presenter shared a recruitment video on his Instagram. He said: 'I'm actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer – I wasn't part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy. 'So now I've spoken with some officials over at Ice, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.' Dean believes the current immigration system is "broken" so he is keen to do what he can to support the president. He said: 'This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing. 'We have a broken immigration system. Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It's what I voted for and he's going to see it through, and I'll do my part and help make sure it happens. 'I'm stepping up. Hopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents, will step up and we'll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we'll help protect this country.' Dean recently expressed concern that James Gunn has made Superman too "woke" in his new movie, which stars David Corenswet. The actor - who played the superhero in Lois + Clark: The New Adventures of Superman from 1993 to 1997 told TMZ: "How woke is Hollywood going to make this character? How much is Disney going to change their Snow White? Why are they going to change these characters [to] exist for the times?" James had previously compared his movie to "the story of America", with a central character who is "an immigrant that came from other places and populated the country." Referencing the traditional Superman motto of "Truth, justice, and the American way" - which has evolved over the years and has most recently been "Truth, justice, and a better tomorrow", Dean said: "We know Superman is an immigrant — he's a freaking alien... "The 'American way' is immigrant friendly, tremendously immigrant friendly. But there are rules. "You can't come in saying, 'I want to get rid of all the rules in America, because I want it to be more like Somalia.' Well that doesn't work, because you had to leave Somalia to come here... There have to be limits, because we cant have everybody in the United States. We can't have everybody, society will fail. So there have to be limits."
