Asiimwe signs Charlton deal and joins Dons on loan
The full-back, 20, has signed a two-year deal with the Championship club, who have an option to extend the contract by a further year.
He will spend the coming season with the newly-promoted League One side, managed by former Charlton player and boss Johnnie Jackson.
Asiimwe ended last season on loan at Walsall and was part of the Saddlers side pipped to promotion by the Dons in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.
He also had a spell on loan at Hartlepool United last season and has made 28 appearances so far for Charlton's first team since graduating from their academy.
Asiimwe told AFC Wimbledon's website: "This was an attractive opportunity for me because I know the gaffer briefly from Charlton.
"This is a step up to a new level for not just me but Wimbledon too, so this is a natural progression for me.
"I like to be energetic down the flanks and help out in both boxes where possible. I know I can defend well but also support the attack with good deliveries into the box."

Man United draws Everton, West Ham blanks Bournemouth in US tour finales
Bruno Fernandes scored one goal and set up another as Manchester United drew Everton 2-2 on Sunday to capture the Premier League Summer Series title. The Red Devils earned a final point in Atlanta to top the table with seven in the pre-season friendly tournament, having previously beaten West Ham 2-1 and Bournemouth 4-1 in the round-robin US tour. "It's improving," Fernandes told Sky Sports after the match. "I think the club is doing the best that they can. "We needed more competition for the players that were here. We needed more quality to get everyone to step up a little bit more, to have more to do to get into the first 11. "I think a lot of people have suffered from this," Fernandes said. "The fans pay more for the tickets and we really appreciate all the efforts they do for us. "So it's up to us now players to repay it on the pitch." Fernandes said the club is working to improve from team and staff to facilities. "It's every detail. Every small thing matters," Fernandes said. "At this football club, you can't do anything wrong on the pitch and off the pitch because it's too big worldwide. "The culture of this club was winning. It was there. And we need to bring back that." Son Heung-Min reportedly leaving Tottenham Hotspur, heading to LAFC after emotional goodbye
Son Heung-min is heading stateside. After a decade playing for Tottenham Hotspur, the 33-year-old forward is joining LAFC with a transfer fee reportedly worth between $20 to $26 million, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano and CBS Sports' Tom Bogert. The fee will likely set a new record for an MLS league transfer, usurping the reported $22 million Atlanta United spent on Emmanuel Latte Lath in February. Son, who joined Tottenham in 2015 after spending some time in Germany, announced that he was leaving the club in an emotional press conference on Saturday. In the conference, Son called it "the most difficult' decision of his career. "I came to north London as a kid, 23 years old, very young age, a young boy came to London who even didn't speak English and leaving this club as a grown man is a very, very proud moment," Son said, via The Associated Press. Son officially said goodbye to the Spurs on Sunday, during a preseason friendly against Newcastle in the forward's native Korea.
