Draft lottery leaves Chicago Bulls at No. 12
Facing the exact same long odds this year, with the lottery once again taking place in the Bulls' backyard at McCormick Place, President of Basketball Operations Artūras Karnišovas was hoping lightning would strike twice — with the Bulls slotted 12th in the sweepstakes for likely No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg of Duke.
But lightning did not strike twice. The Bulls are staying at No. 12.
The Dallas Mavericks won the draft lottery, giving them the No. 1 pick. The NBA Draft is set for Wednesday June 25.

Giants-Jets joint practices: Day 1 live updates
The New York Giants return to work on Tuesday following Saturday's preseason-opening 34-25 victory over the Buffalo Bills. They jump right into the fire with what promises to be an intense, fully-padded practice against the New York Jets at the Jets' Florham Park practice facility. At this time it is unknown if any of those players will participate in the joint practices. The teams play a preseason game at MetLife Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m., with the Giants as the home team.

NBA schedule release: League confirms opening night, 5-game Christmas slate and 4-game MLK Day matchups
The leaks were all true. The NBA officially announced its opening night and Christmas Day matchups Tuesday, and they won't come as a surprise to those who have been paying attention. The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder will kick off the 2025-26 NBA season on opening night in a matchup against Kevin Durant's Houston Rockets on Oct. 21. That game will take place at 7:30 p.m. ET. Later that night, the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors will square off to open the season. All four of those teams will also play on Christmas Day, which features a full, five-game slate. Here's the full league schedule for Dec. 25: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New York Knicks at 12 p.m. ET San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder at 2:30 p.m. ET Dallas Mavericks vs. Golden State Warriors at 5:00 p.m. ET Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Lakers at 8:00 p.m. ET Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets at 10:30 p.m. ET NBA fans paying close attention to the news shouldn't be surprised by those matchups, which were leaked by ESPN's Shams Charania on Friday.
