Liver King escalates beef with Joe Rogan by proposing new challenge... despite restraining order

Daily Mail03-07-2025
Brian 'Liver King' Johnson has publicly proposed multi-million dollar deal to Joe Rogan - despite being under a court-ordered restraining order.
The latest escalation comes after the fitness influencer's June 24 arrest in Austin, Texas, where he was charged with making terroristic threats following a series of videos posted to social media in which he challenged the popular podcaster to fight.
After his release, Johnson, 48, was ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor, surrender any firearms, undergo a mental health evaluation, and avoid all direct or indirect contact with Rogan.
Despite those legal conditions, Johnson posted a new video on Wednesday that seemingly challenges Rogan again - this time suggesting the only way to resolve their differences is to meet his high-priced demand.
'Ten million dollars and it can all go away. I won't say another word if anyone from your team contacts anyone from my team,' Johnson said in the video, while wearing a padded camouflage vest marked with three strips of white tape that read 'Bully VS Liver King.'
Without naming Rogan directly, Johnson made thinly veiled references and pledged to continue posting videos.
'I am picking a fight... it's with a bully. Plug in whatever name you want - you are a stepping stone to a much more important principle,' he said.
'Why am I doing this?' he asked aloud in the nearly three-minute-long clip, before listing his reasons.
'For family, number one. Number two, if you have ever been bullied - it sucks to be bullied, it doesn't feel real good.'
'The name is Liver King. I am picking a fight. Who is it with? It's with a bully… Ten million dollars is now what the challenge has been amped to,' Johnson continued.
'This guy is hosting me on the podcast in Austin, Texas. We've agreed that we are going to do it live and/or it's going to post by July Fourth - then not a further word will be said.'
The Liver King - who promotes a so-called prehistoric diet - then made further indirect references to Rogan and called on the podcast host to respond.
Rogan, who has never publicly interacted with Johnson, reportedly told police that he believes the influencer is 'unstable' and may be suffering from substance abuse issues.
According to police affidavits, Rogan expressed concern for his safety, citing Johnson's erratic behavior and aggressive rhetoric as potential threats.
'Detectives reviewed the posts and observed that Johnson was traveling to Austin while continuing to make threatening statements,' the Austin Police Department said.
'Detectives contacted Mr. Rogan, who stated he had never had any interaction with Johnson and considered the posts to be threatening. Based on this information, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Johnson on a charge of terroristic threat.'
Johnson - who built his brand around ancestral living and extreme fitness regimens - has previously faced scrutiny for misleading claims about his lifestyle.
In 2022, he admitted to using steroids and human growth hormone after emails leaked online showed he was spending $11,000 per month on performance-enhancing substances - contradicting his prior denials.
His feud with Rogan appears to have started after the podcast host criticized him for promoting a 'false image of health.'
Rogan mocked Johnson on The Joe Rogan Experience, calling him 'preposterous' for claiming his muscular physique was the result of a 'natural' lifestyle.
According to Rogan, Johnson had previously asked to appear on the podcast, but the host refused, stating, 'You ran a con game and you got busted.'
Rogan has not responded publicly to Johnson's latest video.
Ahead of his arrest last week, Johnson shared a slew of videos to his 2.9 million Instagram followers. He shot to fame in 2022 claiming his huge muscles were the result of a raw meat diet, before Rogan amplified revelations that he was a secret steroid user.
The fitness influencer was taken into custody on Tuesday night after sharing Instagram videos of himself continuously rambling about 'fighting' the podcaster, before also sharing a clip (pictured) being handcuffed and charged with making 'terroristic threats'
In the videos before his arrest, Johnson's apparent 'roid rage' was in full view.
Johnson appeared to be talking to himself and pretending he was in conversation in some of the clips, including in one where he said to a seemingly empty room: 'I'm going to be right back, okay?'
The fitness influencer also shared videos giving himself a 'coffee enema' in the shower, and in another showed a Joe Rogan branded box with a knife ominously perched on top.
Johnson's hunt for Rogan appears to stem from his steroid scandal three years ago, as he blamed the podcaster for exacerbating his downfall after Rogan had criticized him for his dishonesty.
The 'Liver King' began documenting his pilgrimage to Austin to find Rogan three days ago, saying in an Instagram video on Sunday that, 'If I could just get a formal invitation to the Joe Rogan podcast, I could release myself from leaving tomorrow.'
The next day, Johnson shared another clip calling out Rogan to fight him, saying: 'Man to man, I'm picking a fight with you... I have no training in Jui Jitsu, you have a black belt, you should dismantle me.'
Wearing a wolf's head hat, Johnson began dancing on camera with his shirt off, saying: 'That's pretty entertaining right?'
'You can't pick a fight with a real king and then expect there not to be an actual fight, bro,' he added.
After sharing several more clips of himself aimlessly talking into the camera, Johnson shared another clip on Tuesday morning as he made his way to Austin.
He showed himself holding the Joe Rogan podcast branded box with an axe on top, saying: 'You can't buy this kind of stuff, the serial numbers are not replicable.'
Pointing his camera to the axe, he said: 'We come bearing gifts, for those that deserve it.'

Morgan Wallen gives a BRUTAL snub to next year's Grammy Awards despite having America's best-selling album

Morgan Wallen has made one of the most shocking decisions of his career. Despite having the best-selling album of the year with I'm The Problem, the country superstar, 32, is refusing to even enter the Grammys race after nearly a decade of snubs. On Tuesday, Billboard confirmed that Wallen's team will not be submitting his last record, or any of its 37 tracks, for consideration at the 2026 Grammy Awards. According to Hits Daily Double, which first broke the news, the boycott extends to all categories, including the songwriting categories and best country solo performance. The only exception: his camp isn't blocking other songwriters from submitting their own work from the project. The decision is a striking one given the success of the I'm the Problem, which produced four No. 1 singles on Billboard's Country Airplay chart and his chart-topper duet with Tate McRae, What I Want. For the Lies Lies Lies hitmaker, the choice may be as simple as not needing another trophy to validate his success or not feeling comfortable in the room. Earlier this year, he made headlines after abruptly leaving Saturday Night Live to return to 'God's country.' While it is an unspoken tradition for the guests and the cast to hug and mingle before the credits roll, he reportedly rushed off at the end of the show to head to the airport. At the time, Wallen's team told Variety that he had a good time on the show and did not mean to cause any offense with his quick exit and Instagram post. has reached out to Wallen's team for comment. Wallen's latest move highlights his fraught relationship with the Recording Academy over the past decade. The East Tennessee native has never earned a Grammy nomination for his solo work. His only nods came earlier this year for his collaboration with Post Malone on I Had Some Help, which scored two nominations and zero wins. That lack of recognition has become more glaring as Wallen's star has risen. His 2021 double album Dangerous was crowned Billboard's No. 1 album of the first 25 years of the century. Yet the Grammy voters all but ignored him, even in the best new artist category. Many have speculated that the Grammys has historically iced Wallen out due to his turbulent past and controversies. In 2021, he was caught on video using a racial slur, sparking industry backlash. He apologized and checked into rehab, while the Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association both banned him from eligibility for a year. Since then, Nashville has welcomed him back. He's scored 13 CMA nominations and took home entertainer of the year in 2024. At the ACM Awards, he's been nominated 20 times post-scandal, winning three, including album of the year for Dangerous and male artist of the year in 2023. While Wallen's boycott is unusual, it's not unheard of. The Weeknd famously stopped submitting music after his After Hours album and hit track, Blinding Lights, were snubbed in 2021. At the time, he tweeted that the Grammys were 'corrupt.' Drake, too, has declined to participate, citing a lack of recognition for hip-hop. Even after a decade in the industry, Wallen, who launched to stardom after competing on The Voice at age 20 in 2014, recently admitted fame is 'still weird' to him. 'There's parts of that that I don't like,' he said on the Last Weekend podcast after his SNL exit made headlines. 'I think anybody who has to deal with that… it's not ideal.' 'It's not ideal to go everywhere, and even if you don't get bothered, you were on edge the whole time because you thought you might [be bothered],' he continued. 'There's things that you just don't do. There's just things you don't do anymore.' As for how he spends most of his free time, Wallen explained he usually goes hunting out with his buddies 'in the middle of nowhere' to be 'at ease.' 'I ain't been in a bar since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about,' he quipped referencing his notorious night out at Eric Church's bar in Nashville, which ended with an arrest for throwing a chair off the rooftop.

Missing Texas woman found living among lost ‘African' tribe in Scotland

A Texas woman reported missing by her family has been found living among a lost 'African' tribe in a Scottish forest. Texas native Kaura Taylor has been found with the Kingdom of Kubala, a group living in a forest in Jedburgh, about 41 miles south of Edinburgh, that is trying to reclaim land stolen from their ancestors, UK-based media group SWNS reported. The group is led by King Atehene, 36, who was once an opera singer under the name Kofi Offeh, his wife, Queen Nandi, and their handmaiden Taylor, who now goes by Asnat, according to the outlet. 'To the U.K. authorities, obviously I am not missing,' she said in a video message from the group. 'Leave me alone. I am an adult, not a helpless child.' It's unclear when Taylor was reported missing or why her family was unaware of her location. The group said they've been served eviction notices and been targeted in an attack that involved someone setting one of their tents on fire. While they 'don't recognize local laws,' they say they only follow the rules of their God, who is named Yahowah, according to the outlet. 'We live a very simple life of returning to innocence,' King Atehene told the outlet. 'We connect to nature. We connect to the trees around us. We get grounded every morning. We bathe in the springwater. We are living a simple life of relying daily on the creator for food, shelter and clothing. We live in a tent without walls, but we are not afraid of anyone, for we have the protection of the creator, Yahowah.' According to King Atehene, Great Britain says it is tolerant — but not toward his group, which has 'suffered trials and tribulations at the hands of authorities, who do not understand or tolerate,' he told the outlet. The Kingdom of Kubala claims they are a lost tribe of Hebrews, and that their King descended from David the Messiah, according to the outlet. They say their ancestors were ostracized when Queen Elizabeth I deported native black Jacobites. The group now hopes to bring other 'lost tribes' back after 400 years, according to the report. 'We follow the laws of the creator, everything belongs to the ones who made it,' King Atehene added. 'We do not believe that any authority owns the land. The earth belongs to the father. We do not know about any eviction. All we know is that we are here to stay and establish our authority and power, just like our ancestors did.' He continued: 'The prophecy said, 'after 400 years, when my ancestors are destroyed from the land of Scotland, from the land of Great Britain, they will go into captivity and lose their identity.'' 'But after 400 years, I will come and bring them back to the land of promise. I am following the ancestral call and the call of the gods. The calling from our creator to embark on this journey, is the most important thing in our life. It is a journey of hope — a pilgrimage.' His wife, Queen Nandi, a 43-year-old born Jean Gasho, wrote on social media that the group had 'returned to claim Scotland as our homeland, a land stolen by Elizabeth the first 400 years ago when she deported all black people from Scotland and England, who were not Africans but natives of the land.' 'Jacobites were black, from their ancestor Jacob, Yacobho, a black man. According to our Prophet Atehene, Jerusalem is in Scotland, and that he is the seed and offspring of David, the Messiah. The old world is going, the Second Exodus has begun, only those who live off grid, in Tabernacles will be saved, as we enter the Millennium Kingdom of Kubala, and the world is left behind,' she continued, according to the outlet. It was not immediately clear how many people are part of the Kingdom of Kubala and how many are currently living in the forest in Jedburgh. Meanwhile, Scottish Borders Council says it is 'working with Police Scotland' to manage the situation. 'This has included the provision of advice and information about housing options and other support services,' a spokesperson told SWNS.

What to know about the Menendez brothers' parole hearings

Lyle and Erik Menendez are scheduled to face separate parole hearings beginning Thursday in California and — depending on the outcomes — could eventually be released from prison nearly 30 years after being convicted of killing their parents. A panel of parole officers will evaluate each of the brothers via videoconference. They'll appear from prison in San Diego. In 1995, a jury convicted both brothers of first-degree murder in the 1989 murders of Jose and Kitty Menendez inside their Los Angeles-area home. The brothers were sentenced to life in prison without parole in 1996. They became eligible for parole after a Los Angeles judge in May reduced their sentences from life in prison without the possibility of parole to 50 years to life, making them immediately eligible for parole under California law because they were under the ages of 26 when they committed their crimes. Who are the Menendez brothers and what did they do? Lyle and Erik Menendez are the sons of Jose and Kitty Menendez. Jose Menendez, a Cuban- American business executive who at one time was an executive at RCA Records, moved his family from Princeton, New Jersey, to California when his sons were teenagers. On Aug. 20, 1989, Lyle Menendez dialed 911 to report the shotgun-killings of their parents inside their home. Both brothers told investigators that the murders were related to the Mafia or had something to do with their father's business dealings. At the time, Erik was 18 and Lyle was 21. With access to the family's wealth, the brothers spent small fortunes on Rolex watches, cars and houses. But two months after the killings, Erik Menendez confessed to his psychologist that he and his brother killed their parents. What were the brothers charged with? They were arrested early the following year and each charged with first-degree murder. The brothers claimed their father had emotionally and sexually abused them since childhood. Prosecutors contended that getting hold of their father's money was the motive behind the couple's killings. The brothers' first trial started in 1993. Their attorneys never disputed the pair killed their parents, but argued that they acted out of self-defense. Their trials resulted in hung juries. In 1995, a jury convicted both brothers of three counts, including first-degree murder, plus lying in-wait and special circumstance allegations. They were sentenced to life in prison without parole in 1996. How did they spend their years in prison? For years after their conviction, the brothers filed petitions for appeals of their cases while in prison. State and federal judges denied the petitions. The brothers have gotten an education, participated in self-help classes and started various support groups for fellow prisoners. They also launched a prison beautification project inspired by the Norwegian approach to incarceration that believes rehabilitation in humane prisons surrounded by nature leads to successful reintegration into society, even for those who have committed terrible crimes. Over the years, the Menendez case continued to fascinate the public and the young, handsome brothers became celebrities of sorts. They became the subjects of true crime shows, including last year's nine-episode crime drama 'Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story' on Netflix. A few weeks after that was aired, then-LA County District Attorney George Gascón announced he was reviewing new evidence in the case. On Oct. 24, 2024, prosecutors said they will petition the court to resentence the brothers. In May 2025, an LA County Superior Court judge granted them a new sentence of 50 years to life, making them immediately eligible for parole. What will the parole board consider? Erik and Lyle Menendez will be evaluated, individually, by a panel of two or three parole hearing officers. Erik's hearing is scheduled Thursday morning. Lyle's will be held Friday. The board will assess whether the brothers pose an 'unreasonable risk of danger to society' if released, considering factors like criminal history, motivation for the crime, signs of remorse, behavior while in prison and plans for the future, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Nearly all of the Menendez family support the brothers' release from prison. Milton Andersen, the brothers' uncle who opposed their release, died from cancer in March. Could one receive parole and not the other? The brothers have separate hearings and will be evaluated independently of each other. Los Angeles trial attorney David Ring has said if one brother was 'a troublemaker' in prison and the other wasn't, it's conceivable that one could stay locked up while the other is freed. But Ring, who's not involved with the Menendez case, said that's unlikely. How soon could they get out? If granted parole, it could be months before the brothers are released from prison. The chief legal counsel has 120 days to review the case. Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom then has 30 days to affirm or deny the parole. If he approves it, they could then leave prison. Newsom has not made any statements indicating his position on the case, but said during a May press conference that he has both approved and rejected decisions by the parole board before. Where will they go if released? That's not clear. The brothers' family members, who have spoken out in favor of their release, haven't shared details about where the brothers might live.
