Commercial Crime Investigation Department acting director Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali said the trio were arrested between May 1 and May 17, following new information obtained during the course of investigations.
"As of now, the information gathered found no links to any politician.
"To date, a total of 17 individuals were arrested.
"The arrests were made around Kuala Lumpur and Penang," he told a press conference here today.
The three suspects were remanded for between five and nine days, and were subsequently released on police bail.
Police have confiscated 477 properties valued at an estimated RM150 million, four condominium units worth around RM12 million, and RM326,088,127.11 from 37 bank accounts.
Additionally, four yachts and three passenger boats valued at RM36.3 million, three luxury vehicles amounting to RM637,100, and two watches worth a total of RM160,000 were also seized.
Police further recovered over RM283,000 in cash and five mobile phones, bringing the total value of items seized since the operation began to over RM3.8 billion.
Bukit Aman's Anti-Money Laundering Crime Investigation (AMLA) Unit also seized five businesses, including a durian farm, a real estate development company, and a hotel — bringing the total number of businesses seized to eight.
"Some of these companies are publicly listed, some are private companies which are operating legally even," he explained.
Op Northern Star is an investigation into a Ponzi-type investment scam linked to Mobility Beyond Imagination (MBI).
On 22 April, police seized and froze more than RM338.53 million in assets related to the case.
On 11 April, four men with "Datuk" titles, including two lawyers, were among eight people arrested in the same probe

Klang hop-on hop-off bus service to start next month
Klang's Hop-On Hop-Off open-top double-decker bus service for tourists is set to begin in the middle of August. The bus tour offers a convenient way for tourists to explore the royal town at their own pace. Arshad: The bus will take the heritage route in south Klang. Tourism Selangor Promosi Sdn Bhd operations manager Arshad Mustapa said the service was expected to run along the heritage route in south Klang and on to the mangrove forest in Port Klang. 'The hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus in Klang was supposed to have started in February. 'It was deferred as the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad), which emphasises on strict safety and compliance, had not issued a licence,' Arshad said when met in Shah Alam, Selangor. He said discussions were held early last month with Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry, whereby a letter of recommendation was issued. 'We have submitted an application to Apad that fulfils the standard operating procedures and we expect to get the approval soon.' Klang will be the second local council in Selangor with a Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing bus, after Sepang Municipal Council introduced the service in June last year. Arshad said the service using a 40-seater bus would be run by private company LNH Tour and Transport Sdn Bhd under an annual permit. Tourists will enjoy panoramic views of Klang city as the ride goes past Jalan Istana where Istana Alam Shah is situated. Passengers can also enjoy street views of business enclave Little India from the high vantage point of the bus. Other ride highlights include Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery, the Gothic-style Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and Gedung Raja Abdullah which is the oldest building in Klang, built to store tin ore in the 1850s.

14 immigration offenders from Pakistan jailed, fined
KOTA KINABALU (July 30): Fourteen Pakistani men were jailed and fined by a Sessions Court here for separate charges under the Immigration Act. Rahat Khan, Khan Junaid, Aamir Khan, Ali Shahab, Ahmad Uzair, Hassan Nawab, Shams, Inayat Ur Rahman, Irfan Khan, Said Nawab, Muhammad Osama, Sajid Khan, Irshad Muhammad and Ali Niaz had pleaded guilty to their charges before judge Hurman Hussain. Nine of them – Rahat, Khan, Hassan, Irfan, Said, Muhammad, Sajid, Irshad dan Ali Niaz – admitted to overstay in Sabah after their passes expired. Rahat and Khan were jailed for 12 and six months' jail respectively. Hassan was fined RM12,000, in default, 12 months' jail while the others were fined RM10,000 each. If they failed to pay their fines they will be jailed for between six and 12 months. Ali was fined RM3,000, in default, four months behind bars, Aamir was sentenced to four months' imprisonment while Ali Shahab, Shams and Inayat were each fined between RM3,000 and RM5,000. They had entered the state illegally. Ali Shahab and Ahmad also received RM500 fine, in default , three months' jail each for violating their social visit passes. The offences were committed in Penampang, Menggatal and Kota Belud.

Cricket-Zimbabwe recall Brendan Taylor after completion of ICC ban
(Reuters) -Zimbabwe have added batter Brendan Taylor to their squad for the second test against New Zealand in Bulawayo from August 7-11 after he completed a three-and-a-half-year suspension imposed for breaching the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Anti-Doping codes. Taylor, 39, was banned in 2022 after admitting receiving $15,000 from an Indian businessman in 2019. He had retired from international cricket in September 2021. He admitted taking cocaine while in India and claimed this was later used to blackmail him into spot-fixing, though he denied going through with any fixes. "I certainly did think it was all done, but here I am – and it's an overwhelming feeling of gratitude," Taylor said in a media release from Zimbabwe Cricket on Wednesday. "I have to pinch myself a little to realise that I'm actually here. I've been soaking it all up and embracing every moment. "The last year and a half has certainly been dedicated to my return. I've put in an immense amount of work – from fitness to the technical side to diet – and I'm feeling a lot leaner, fitter and mentally stronger. That's only been possible through sobriety. I feel in a wonderful space." Taylor has played 34 test matches since making his debut against Sri Lanka in 2004, scoring six centuries and 12 half-centuries. With 9 938 international runs across all formats, he is Zimbabwe's third-highest run-scorer. Zimbabwe's first test in the two-game series against New Zealand started in Bulawayo on Wednesday.
