Drew Brees praises the Kansas City Chiefs' consistency of success in the AFC

This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke to New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees about his partnership with Jimmy John's, creating his personalized sandwich, The Brees #9, and he praises the Kansas City Chiefs' ongoing success in the AFC. "We love Jimmy John's so much. In college, we would go to the store, like at the very end of the night, when they were closing, to get all the French bread that was still available; otherwise, it would just go to waste, because they cook it fresh every day." said Brees, "We would take that home, and then we would, you know, do all kinds of different stuff. We make sandwiches with it or even go with butter, cinnamon, sugar, and toast like we would, because the bread was so dang good. But that's been a fan of Jimmy John's for a long time." Kansas City has won nine consecutive division titles, the second-longest streak of division championships in league history. Only the New England Patriots, who won 11 successive AFC East titles from 2009 to 2019, had a longer streak in NFL history. Brees weighed in on the key to their remarkable run in recent years. "Tons of respect to the Chiefs, because they have the bullseye on their chest. No matter who they play or where they go, they always have the bullseye on their chest. And yet they find ways to win. It's a ton of credit to Andy Reid and (Patrick) Mahomes, that whole crew, and just the mindset they've created," said Brees. "I think at some point, even look at Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Brady and the (New England) Patriots kind of had the best of the (Indianapolis) Colts for a long time, and then finally, the Colts got over the hump with him, and he felt like he turned the tide a little bit, maybe just from a confidence perspective. But yeah, let's not forget (Joe) Burrow and the (Cincinnati) Bengals. Those are the best. The team that seems like they always play the Chiefs as tough as anybody. They've gotten ahead of their number a few times. So yeah, the AFC is pretty stout." Fans can order The Brees #9, Drew's personal Jimmy John's go-to order, for the first time. Available for a limited time through August 31st, the order supports Jimmy John's Foundation, benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Brees Dream Foundation.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Former Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo has opened up about his life after parting ways with the sport last year. The Australian driver was interviewed at Ray White's Connect 2025 real estate conference on the Gold Coast, where he was invited as a speaker. Ricciardo has been away from the F1 scene for nearly a year now. His dream was to race alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull, and as a result, he was being assessed alongside Yuki Tsunoda in Red Bull's junior F1 team, VCARB (now Racing Bulls), last year. The Australian driver embarked on his premier class career in 2011, replacing Narain Karthikeyan at HRT. He then moved to Red Bull's junior F1 team in 2012, and two years later, he was racing for Red Bull. However, a move to Renault in 2018 became a turning point in his career, as he soon parted ways with the French marque to join McLaren, a partnership that faded after two years. Ricciardo received another shot at F1 mid-2023 with VCARB, where he raced for one year alongside his Japanese teammate, Tsunoda, who outperformed him on most race weekends. MoreVCARB was left with no option but to part ways with him after the Singapore Grand Prix. Following his departure from the team, the 36-year-old driver made it clear that he was "done with F1" and has since been exploring life in the slow lane. When asked at the real estate conference about life after F1, Ricciardo said: "Well I haven't been shaving my face. The beard is my comfort right now. This year has been a bit of self-exploration. I lived this crazy high-speed life for so long and this year I've sat into a little bit of stillness. "I've had a lot of time, I've done some hiking. I was in Alaska a few weeks ago and didn't get mauled by a grizzly which was a bonus. I've been trying to figure out who I am other than this race car driver. "I've come to appreciate the little thing more and the meaning of the importance of family and friends. "I've always been driven and that sometimes leads you to being selfish, so I'm trying to learn to be a bit more selfless and become a better listener." Ricciardo also opened up about his childhood and revealed what pushed him to pursue a racing career. He said: "Childhood was great. I was always driven to do something that scared me a bit. The reason I got into racing was because no one was really doing it. It was my chance to do something a little bit cooler than everyone else. I was just showing off, but showing off has got me to a really good place in life."

Bayer Leverkusen optimistic of signing Loïc Badé

Bayer Leverkusen are optimistic they can secure Loïc Badé's signature this week after the French defender agreed personal terms with Erik Ten Hag's side last week, according to . This development comes after multiple major German football news outlets reported that the deal to bring AZ Alkmaar winger Ernest Poku to the BayArena has been all but wrapped up. Leverkusen's managing director of sport Simon Rolfes and head coach Erik Ten Hag have now turned their attention to finalising the Badé deal. Ten Hag is known to be a huge admirer of the French international centre-back, and, according to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg, the Dutchman is looking to follow in former Leverkusen gaffer Xabi Alonso's footsteps in favouring the fielding of a back-three; a system in which Badé fits perfectly. Talks are ongoing between Leverkusen and Sevilla over a fee for Badé, and though Die Werkself remain optimistic, no agreement has yet been struck over the figure, however it is reportedly estimated to be in the range of €20m to €25m.
