'And Just like That' fans spot major Season 3 plot hole

USA Today6 days ago
"And Just Like That" may be forgetting its own characters' backstories.
The "Sex and the City" revival, which sees three of four leading ladies reprising their iconic roles, has been on thin ice with its audience since its debut season, drawing criticism from haphazard plot lines and even more haphazard headwear (we're looking at you, Carrie).
The discontent flared once again this week when eagle-eyed fans noticed a plot hole involving friend to the main cast Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker). In an episode airing July 3, Wexley calls Charlotte (Kristin Davis) to inform her that her father has just died suddenly from a stroke.

Fans were quick to point out, however, that during Season 1, Parker's character revealed that her father had died the previous year. Stitching together the clips on social media to point out the recycled plotline, viewers voiced disbelief, with one social media user writing: "Has 'And Just Like That' completely forgot they killed Lisa's dad off already?"
'And Just Like That...' is still shallow (and just plain silly) in Season 3: Review
To add insult to injury, fans also noted that after announcing his death in Season 1, the show seemingly ignored the fact to bring him on as a guest star (played by Billy Dee Williams) for an episode in Season 2, only to kill him off again in Season 3.
"Don't forget he was already passed in season 1, and came for dinner in season 2, now he is gone again… not everyone gets that kind of second chance," one user quipped on TikTok.
'And Just Like That' star Cynthia Nixon spills about Rosie O'Donnell's sex-starved nun
"Carrie will be having dinner with Big next episode," another wrote, referencing Mr. Big, Carrie's one-time love interest who was killed off during the first season. Chris Noth, the actor playing him, was accused of sexual assault around the time the onscreen death occured.
The cast, however, is mourning Lisa's father's death (the second one) for real.
"I grew up (watching) Billy Dee Williams, so I was very sad in real life that we wouldn't do any more work together in this series," Sarah Jessica Parker told USA TODAY in a recent interview.

Klay Thompson teases Megan Thee Stallion romance with PDA photos

Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion are apparently making their love known on the 'gram. Days after the Grammy-winning rapper included the Dallas Mavericks star in a poolside Instagram post, Thompson, 35, shared a collection of vacation shots Saturday on the social media platform that featured him cozying up to a woman in the Bahamas. Although Thompson's lady in question had her face turned away from the camera, the bright pink nails matched those Megan, 30, rocked in her original pool shoot on July 9. 6 Klay Thompson packed on the PDA in new Instagram photos. Klay Thompson/Instagram 6 The photos were shared days after Megan Thee Stallion included the Dallas Mavericks star in a poolside post. Instagram/@theestallion Thompson added a photo of a couple holding hands to his PDA-packed carousel. Prior to her romance with Thompson, Megan was linked to Chicago Bulls forward Torrey Craig last summer. At the time, the pair participated in a TikTok couple's challenge, where they answered questions about one another by pointing at each other or themselves with their eyes shut. 6 Klay Thompson held a woman's hand in one snap, with her nails appearing to match the shade Megan sported. Thompson, who was previously involved with actress Laura Harrier, is coming off his first season in Dallas after spending the first 13 years of his NBA career with the Warriors. A four-time NBA champ with Golden State, Thompson averaged 14 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists this past season. 6 Klay Thompson (31) just wrapped his first season with the Dallas Mavericks. Getty Images Thompson originally agreed to a three-year, $50 million contract with the Mavericks during free agency last July. The Mavericks, fresh off a 2024 NBA Finals run, then shook up the NBA in February when they stunningly traded star Luka Doncic to the Lakers, resulting in a turbulent fallout for the Dallas franchise. When asked in April if he still would have chosen the Mavericks, knowing what he knows now, Thompson scoffed at the 'ridiculous' question. 'You can't do that to me… That's kind of a ridiculous question,' he said. 'I don't own a time machine, and I don't believe in looking back. If I didn't have my whole career, I would not be where I'm at, and I wouldn't have been able to persevere through two really hard injuries.' The future is looking bright for the Mavericks, though, as the team selected former Duke standout Cooper Flagg with the first overall pick in last month's NBA draft.

33 Products For Pampering Yourself On A Teensy Budget

Moroccanoil's Mini Must-Haves Sampler, which is so affordable that I'm not not pinching myself to make sure I'm awake. Reviewers especially love these teensy versions for traveling in ~luxury~ on the cheap, and for trying these beloved splurgeworthy products without committing to the whole price first! A delightfully affordable instant foot peeling spray for anyone ready to go full YEEHAW!! on a pedicure, without the big salon price tag. This not only helps gently remove dead skin, but moisturizes dry and cracked heels, so you'll really get some refreshing bang for your buck. A tinted lip balm that's eerily close to the same magic as "Black Honey," TikTok's beloved $25 ~universal shade~ from Clinique, that it will genuinely startle you — especially when you see the price. This is a perfect, non-sticky "go-to" lippie that's just a step above the "no makeup makeup" look, giving the perfect subtly polished effect. Good Molecules Yerba Mate Wake Up Eye Gel, a cult-fave product for your beauty arsenal that will quickly help minimize eye puffiness and swelling thanks to its winning combo of caffeine and hyaluronic acid. It's basically an alarm clock for your eyeballs, because boy howdy are they awake now!! A container of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust so absurdly delicious that all food will just become a mere canvas for putting Cinnadust on. Reviewers use this on everything from coffee to toast to yogurt to fries to popcorn to sweet potatoes to ice cream to — you know what, I'll let you decide on your cinnajourney for yourself. A cult-favorite Persian Garden fragrance rollerball with warm florals, ocean air, and light amber that reviewers compare to Glossier's $78 "You." This is from TikTok-famous small business brand Kuumba Made, known for its luxury scents at ridiculously affordable prices, so you know they're on their game — reviewers especially love how clean and long-lasting this sweet but elevated fragrance feels, and how nicely it plays with other scents! A limited edition (!!) Eos Marshmallow "Super Balm" lip treatment from the brand's "secret menu" so good that reviewers say it's better than Carmex for healing and better than Summer Fridays for quality. Lip care that also tastes like you're perpetually eating a s'more for less than $5?? My friends, life is good. A Baccarat Rouge 540-inspired moisturizing body wash infused with white jasmine, red currant, and sweet amber that reviewers swear by for a cheap alternative to keep that delectably luxe scent on them all day long. Nothing wrong with smelling a lil' ~~expensive~~! And a bottle of the ever-elusive, ridiculously beloved Coconut Coffee Scrub & Wash that reviewers love for gently smoothing and exfoliating skin while leaving you smelling like a warm, tropical daydream. A lot of people note that this used to be easy to find in stores, but most stopped stocking it — enter the internet, here to save the day! A bottle of Elizavecca hair treatment, an Olaplex-like repairing mask infused with collagen ingredients and protein extracts that will help restore hair health and reduce shedding when dryness comes for your 'do. All you gotta do is apply it on wet hair after a shampoo, wait five minutes, and rinse it out. Aveeno Skin Relief Repairing Hand Mask to give your hands the self-care they *deserve* — not only are these super soothing and moisturizing, but reviewers with dry, cracked skin swear by these upside down and backwards for relief. Sally Hansen's iconic Insta-Dri nail polish perfect for anyone who wants quick touch-ups on their fingers and toes but has ZERO time to spare. If you're looking for a reliable, long-lasting, fast-drying polish to save not just time, but big bucks at the salon, I cannot recommend these enough! A set of affordable lavender shower steamers so you can have a dose of ~calm~ to cap off a long day of capitalism and help your poor overworked brain getting into de-stressing mode. A simple faux diamond tennis bracelet to add a touch of sophistication to any outfit without the price of name-brand versions like Swarovski (even though reviewers agree this looks like the Real Deal 👀). An "Exfoliate & Glow" premium scrub mitt for that oh-so-squeaky clean sensation that comes with sloughing off dead skin. No, for real — one reviewer saw all the dead skin left in their shower floor and dubbed themselves a "Lizard Person" after shedding it. This is great for helping even out skin texture and tone, preventing ingrown hairs, calming keratosis pilaris, and removing self-tanner, too! A set of biodegradable ultra-soft face towels inspired by the much pricier Clean Skin Club version — a lot of folks with sensitive skin and acne *swear* by these, particularly because it helps prevent exposing their skin to bacteria that may collect in ordinary reusable towels. A set of self-heating lavender eye masks that might be juuuuust the ticket to releasing the stress and tension that keeps your brain going in circles at night. Reviewers also swear by these for headache and migraine relief! And a set of delightfully ~~tingly~~ self-heating soothing foot masks made with Epsom salts, lavender, and peppermint perfect for anyone whose recent step count is "too many." Nothing like a lil' self-care on those aching feet to lift your spirits! Tree Hut Vanilla Hand Wash infused with hyaluronic acid and ceramides to help hydrate and restore skin health so your hands can be super clean *and* super nourished. Now all you have to do is prepare to have the link to this handy whenever guests come over and are like, "WHERE DID YOU GET THIS DELECTABLE SOAP??" A set of satin pillowcases that not only have a cooling effect, but are soft on your skin and create less friction for your hair so it won't get as tangled while you sleep. Reviewers especially love these because they're an affordable alternative to ones that typically run $18 per case! A pair of luxe retro-style oval sunglasses giving Miu Miu vibes without the $489 price tag. The devil's in the chic details on this one, including the little gold embellishments on the sides and the nostalgic shape of the lenses, which are softer than the typical skinny oval lens. A set of Victoria's Secret–inspired seamless "invisible" underwear so soft and stretchy your butt will want to *sing* when you slide them on. This is a true holy grail underwear that doesn't show, doesn't ride up, and somehow manages to look cute all at the same time. A plated, jewel-embedded ring you can buy yourself as a little treat if the $1,250 Cartier Love Ring is decidedly out of your budget. Dare I say this version is ... prettier than the designer one? And a dainty gold-plated station necklace, another home run from jewelry brand Pavoi so close to the real diamond versions from Quince and Dorsey that run $400+ that it'll turn all your everyday looks into ~quietly expensive~ looks. Essence's Drop of Sunshine Bronzing Drops, aka the more affordable version of the beloved $39 Drunk Elephant version. This buildable, hydrating formula is an easy way to add a ~sunkissed touch~ to your beauty routine without breaking the bank (or compromising your skin!). A bottle of truffle seasoning for an instant upgrade on homemade meals that honestly has become one of my only personality traits, to the point where I'm just like, begging you to try it. I should gatekeep this stuff so I can have it all to myself but it is such a delicious and satisfying and ridiculously affordable alternative to real truffles that I'm throwing the gates WIDE OPEN. A weighted eye mask that's basically like a weighted blanket for your human eyes, designed to decrease stress and encourage ~deep sleep~. They also feature a 3D contour, so they're hollowed out in the middle and won't rest right on top of your eyes. A "zen sleep" essential oil roller made with a relaxing blend of lavender, rosemary, orange, and grapeseed for a soft little cocoon of scents that will make you feel like a happy little garden is rocking you to sleep. You can apply this on your temples, wrists, or even roll it on your pillow! A bottle of sensitive skin-friendly Honest Company lavender bubble bath reviewers are obsessed with because the bubbles are GINORMOUS and super long-lasting. Rumor has it Glinda came down in a bubble made from this very bubble bath blend. And a wine caddy for the bathtub, because sometimes you need to relax, and sometimes you need to relaaaaaaaaax 🍷. An affordable brown noise sound machine as a gentler option to white noise — it's a steady, deeper sound that's a little less harsh, and a lot of people swear by it for calmer sleep. That said, this versatile gizmo not only has three brown noise options, but white noise, pink noise (a sort of "in between" brown and white), fan noises, lullabies, and 15 nature sounds to choose from. Oh — and it's an optional multi-color night-light! A set of itty bitty vintage-inspired spoons that are just BEGGING to be used for all your coffee, tea, dessert, and yogurt needs. (Is it just me, or do we all have an Emotional Support Tiny Spoon?) A set of luxe, reviewer-beloved Le Gushe "24K Gold" under-eye masks so you can *truly* pamper yourself — these soothing (ridiculously pretty??) masks are infused with hyaluronic acid, collagen, and aloe to help hydrate and refresh the dark circles and puffiness under your eyes. The self-care vibes are *immaculate*.

'90s Trends That Should Never Come Back

Recently, I asked the BuzzFeed Community which '90s fashion trends they hope never ever make a comeback. Here are 22 of their top responses: "Hypercolor t-shirts. Tits and pits immediately turned the hypercolor color, so that's all people would focus on." —justjen0178 "Those zigzag headbands that had 'teeth.' They were uncomfortable and not that cute." —edgyskeleton362 "Let's leave chunky highlights dead and buried where they belong." —Anonymous, 44, Wisconsin "Hammer pants! Why all that fabric?" —Anonymous, 43 Glens Falls, NY "Dayglow anything. It's already back, but I don't understand why unless you're working and need high vis apparel." —Anonymous "Slip dresses. You can only wear them standing, because if you sit in them, permanently creased. I hated them then, and I continue to hate them." —hollycc "Acid-washed jeans are the worst clothing item ever made." —stephaniev23 "Colored lens glasses with rhinestones." —surprisedtrout753 "It's already too late because they did, but rayon pants. The loose and flowy pants or shorts are not flattering on anyone. 99 percent of those who wear them are not doing their butts a favor. I hated them then. I hate them now." —fabcactus808 "Anything with a leopard print." —Anonymous, 16, Gordon's Bay "Repeat after me; THIN. EYEBROWS. This needs to stay dead and buried unless it actually fits your face. Seriously, I know people who did it that regret their eyebrows never growing back in. And, it's a little creepy. Just do your eyebrows to fit your face, not some trend you see on TikTok." —Anonymous, 32 "JNCO jeans. I grew up in the PNW, so anyone wearing them would end up dragging around soggy denim all day. It was gross." —Anonymous, 39 Texas "Whale tails." —Anonymous, 45 "Matching windbreaker pants and jacket suits. Usually in bright colors. Always with a lining that was so itchy and uncomfortable, and the pants went 'swish swish' when you walked." —Sam, Louisville, KY "Overalls are a big cringe. I wore stonewashed shortalls in the '90s, with a mauve lettuce shirt (rib-knit t-shirt with ruffled edges), and I just cannot believe I ever thought I looked cool. It was just the most awkward look." —caroliner4f34a2a95 "I'll never forget wearing jelly sandals on a hot summer day, walking down the street with a friend, and my shoes were MELTING (or so I thought). They were getting stuck in the hot asphalt. They were a cheap pair I picked up at Dollar General." —toomanykidsnotenoughtime "Stirrup leggings. I lived in them as a kid, but they were so bad, looking back as an adult." —Anonymous, 39 Texas "Shoulder pads need never return." —Anonymous "Why do these '90s lists never talk about wearing dog chains [a chain wallet]? I distinctly remember being in 5th and 6th grade, and kids walking around with dog chains hanging from their belt loops." —askaspie "The plaids from Clueless are seriously embarrassing!!!" —gemininorthnode "Another trend that never needs to come back is those sandals and flip flops with the footbed that looked like a bath mat (they were comfortable, but OMG, germs and just gross)." —toomanykidsnotenoughtime And finally: "Jean jackets have been a trend since the '50s, they're not exclusive to the '90s, and I would argue they were probably most ubiquitous in the '80s... However, the particular style worn in the '90s — boxy, oversized, shapeless — can stay back in the '90s (coming from someone who LIVED in those jean jackets back then!)." —trilingualmom Some of these trends were more niche than others, so what's an obscure or "forgotten" '90s trend you remember? Tell us all about it in the comments!
