Fears for Justin Bieber's finances amid lavish spending spree
Justin Bieber is sparking up, burning bridges, and blowing through money.
'People are worried about him,' a well-placed source told The Post. 'He's literally going on [Instagram] live, smoking weed and looking out of his mind.'
The 31-year-old pop star and his glam wife Hailey Bieber, 28, welcomed their first child, Jack Blues, eight months ago. But rather than settle into fatherhood, Bieber has been acting strangely, partying hard, growing close with seemingly questionable people, and cutting ties with longtime pals — all while spending big.
'He's flying in all his friends on private jets to his birthday party, putting it all over Instagram,' the source said.
During the second weekend of Coachella earlier this month, Bieber appeared shirtless and seemingly gaunt, smoking marijuana near his 15-year-old brother, Jaxon, in a video posted by a fan on X on April 20.
In it, wife Hailey — with whom he's rumoured to be having marital issues — appears to place her hands on Jaxon's back as if steering him away from the drug use.
The well-placed source alleged that Bieber is spending more than he's making at the moment.
'He'll spend $300,000 at the Nobu [restaurant] at Coachella,' they told Page Six. 'He hasn't worked in a really long time.'
A source close to Bieber denied this claim and said he hadn't been to Nobu at Coachella.
Bieber skyrocketed to pop super stardom in the 2010s and has an estimated worth of $300 million, after making a $US200 million deal to sell the publishing rights to his music catalogue in 2023. But sources say he's hardly financially secure.
He hasn't released an album since 2021's Justice, though last week, The Hollywood Reporter reported that he is 'very close' to finishing a new project.
The source close to Bieber told Page Six that he is working on new material, saying, 'He's making music, he's helping to run a fashion brand, he's a new father — he's got a lot of things going on in his life.'
In September 2022, Bieber pulled the plug on the remainder of his Justice tour following a rare diagnosis of Type 2 Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a facial paralysis disease.
He lost out on an estimated $US90 million in income he would have earned from the tour, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Insiders say Bieber was left owing more than $US20 million to the tour's promoter, AEG. His manager at the time, Scott 'Scooter' Braun, paid, through his company, what was owed in a loan favourable to Bieber, who has only returned some of what he borrowed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The singer hasn't toured since, and given the music industry's shift to streaming, concerts are now where artists make the majority of their income.
Meanwhile, Bieber owns six homes — including a $US26 million mansion in Beverly Hills, a $US16 million home in La Quinta and a property in Idaho — and he and Hailey hardly live a simple life.
'These two are travelling on vacations every two days on Instagram, they're running around with full-time security and there's no money coming in for a long time,' the well-placed source said.
Hailey, who has launched a beloved beauty brand in Rhode, has 'become kind of the breadwinner,' the source said, adding that she's also a big spender.
'She's keeping up with the Kardashians,' they said, noting that her spending has made for clashes with Bieber staffers.
The source close to Justin said the claim is 'totally untrue.'
While Rhode has been popular and influential, the company is only a few years old and likely not a cash cow at the moment.
'Rhode hasn't made any money yet,' the well-placed source said. 'If they sell she'll make a lot of money. There's no money that comes out of it. It's all going back into marketing … If they sell Rhode they'll be exponentially wealthy and I really hope they do.'
Meanwhile, Team Justin has lost a number of key players as of late.
Braun — Bieber's longtime manager, who discovered him as a young Canadian teen on YouTube in 2008 and made him a star — announced his retirement in June 2024.
He and Bieber had been rumoured to be on the outs for several months before the announcement.
Bieber's deputy, Allison Kaye, resigned in January. Security chief Kenny Hamilton and chief-of-staff Lauren Walters have also stopped working with the star in recent months. Bieber has unfollowed several of them on Instagram.
Earlier this month, in a now-deleted Instagram post. Bieber said he was 'no longer involved' in the fashion brand, Drew House, that he co-founded with pal Ryan Good. He urged his fans not to associate with the brand anymore saying it 'doesn't represent me or my family or life,' in a now-deleted post on Instagram.
'If your [sic] rocking with me the human Justin Bieber don't waste ur money on Drew House,' the singer wrote in the post.
Good was Bieber's best man when he married Hailey in 2019. The buddies founded Drew House that same year.
Late last month, Page Six reported that Good has not spoken to the pop star in more than a year — after Good left their congregation, Churchome in Beverly Hills, California. Former members of the megachurch have compared it to a 'cult.'
'When Ryan chose to leave the church, he basically got excommunicated,' a source familiar with the situation told Page Six.
As Bieber's inner circle has shrunk, the church's pastor, Judah Smith, has allegedly taken a larger role in his life and business affairs.
'Justin started to add Judah to the boards of everything — he's buying him like $300,000 Rolexes and all this kind of stuff. Everyone around Justin is part of this church,' a source familiar with Bieber and his church told Page Six.
'[Judah's] the consigliere around him,' another source familiar with the situation told The Post.
Page Six has reached out to Smith and Churchome for comment.
Bieber has spoken out about his struggles himself.
Last weekend, the singer took to Instagram to mourn the death of his grandfather with a photo of the two of them from 2009.
'I can't wait to see u again soon in heaven,' he captioned the image. 'Until then I know ur watching down …. I will miss u. I will ache.'
Some posts have been darker. On March 22, he told Instagram followers, 'I think I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic. Then I remember we're all being made to think we're not enough but I still hate when I change myself to people please.'
That same day, in another Instagram post, he admitted: 'I got anger issues, too,' noting that he aspired to 'grow and not react so much.'
His apparent rage has manifested publicly with the singer lashing out at a group of paparazzi on April 6. 'All you care about is money, not human beings,' he said, outside of a Palm Springs coffee shop.
In the years just after he and Hailey married, Bieber talked of being eager — more eager than his wife — to start a family. But fans noted that he was conspicuously absent from the pictures Hailey posted of herself and baby Jack celebrating Easter.
The source familiar with Bieber and his church said it's time the former teen idol starts acting like an adult.
'He's not [a child]. He's a grown man with a child. A grown married man,' they said. 'Did he have an upbringing where he got thrust into the limelight? For sure. Did he also have every single privilege and every single ability to do anything he wanted as well? Yes, he did.
At what point does it become Justin's fault?'

Kate Moss launches Festival Collection for Zara
Kate Moss has tapped into her love of music to launch a new Festival Collection for Zara . The supermodel teamed with the high street giant last year to release her first Kate Moss x Zara collection and now she's back with a second range which is themed around music festivals and features Moss in a campaign alongside Primal Scream legend Bobby Gillespie, who is married to the collection's co-designer - stylist Katy England. Moss said: "It was such an evolved process this time. Because it's Spring/Summer and festival season, I suppose, I expected it to be more about wafty dresses. "But it's a bit tougher than that. That's because all the masculine energy was coming in from Bobby doing his collection at the same time. You could feel it coming over and we ended up going somewhere quite unexpected that I didn't think we would." The festival collection includes mini-dresses, a leopard print skirt, a sheer floral maxi-dress, suede ankle boots and a leather-studded bralette as well as accessories including sunglasses, studded belts and bracelets. The festival collection also features menswear pieces. The advertising campaign also features Gillespie's model son, Lux, 21, and Moss' 22-year-old daughter, Lila. The collection launches online and in stores on June 10. Moss spoke about the collection to and insisted she never pre-plans her outfits - especially when it comes to clothes she wears to festivals. She told the outlet: "Planned outfits never work for me. I don't do that ... I just think overly thought-out outfits are a bit … for a festival? "When I look at Coachella I just think … are they even having fun?" Kate previously included a silver dress inspired by an outfit she wore to Glastonbury Festival in 2005 in her last collection for Zara. It comes after Kate admitted she hates fashion "trends" because she can't stand seeing the same "shoe and bag" in every shop. During an appearance on Bella Freud's 'Fashion Neurosis' podcast, she explained: "I hate fashion codes. I hate like: 'Oh this bag's in fashion so everybody designs the same f****** bag.' I hate that kind of thing. Like oh this is fashionable so everybody has to have that in their shop. I really don't like that. "Like I walked through the airport the other day and in every shop was the same shoe and the same bag from like every designer. I was like: 'What the f*** is the point in doing that?' I don't understand ... "They might put it on the runway different but when it gets to the shop it's all the same. Like why? It's not fun when it's fashionable. "You know like the trends. That's what they call them. The trends ... Trends are awful. [As soon as it's a trend] you can't wear it any more."

‘We've got a pretty good story': John Wick director Chad Stahelski teases Chapter 5
Chad Stahelski has a "pretty good story" for John Wick: Chapter 5. After the titular hitman's apparent death in 2023's John Wick: Chapter 4, Lionsgate has greenlit a fifth outing for Keanu Reeves' assassin, and Stahelski, 56, has teased the script he and scribe Mike Finch wrote is coming along nicely - though will only go ahead with the movie if they "crack" the story. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about continuing John Wick's story after his supposed end in Chapter 4, the filmmaker said: "I'm not going to lie to you, it's a bit of a conundrum. Me and Mike Finch — the writer on 4 who's also writing 5 — we've got a pretty good story that I think is cool. Once we have a 50-page book, and if we're feeling it, we'll sit with Keanu and shape this thing. "Look, everybody seems to want it. It's a matter of whether we crack it. We're actively working on it. It's just … is it going to be satisfying?" Stahelski added that while Lionsgate wants John Wick: Chapter 5, the sequel isn't locked in just yet. He explained: "The studio would very much will it into existence, I'm sure, at some point. Look, they've been great and they've asked us to really try and we have a really good couple of ideas and we're going to try." The filmmaker added that even if John Wick: Chapter 5 ultimately doesn't come to fruition, he and his creative team will likely discover plenty of other ideas that could be reworked for a spin-off in the process of developing the movie, such as the Ana de Armas-starring Ballerina. Stahelski said: "If we go down the road of John Wick 5 and build this story and decide this isn't right, there are probably going to be 10 other things we'll discover that we'll use for other things. "It's a great creative exercise. It's being in the room riffing with people we love. That's nothing but wins." Ballerina - which also stars Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, Lorenza Izzo, Anjelica Huston and the late Lance Reddick - follows Eve Maccaro, a deadly assassin who seeks vengeance for her family's murder and unleashes her fury against those who wronged her. The film is also set to include John Wick as an adversary of Macarro's, though Stahelski revealed this wasn't always in the plan, and he was initially "kind of against" bringing in Reeves' assassin. He explained: "That wasn't in the original script. To be honest, I was kind of against it. But I do see the benefit and we wanted to help out [director Len Wiseman]. "We had just opened John Wick 4 and it was huge. He couldn't go back to the model of the first John Wick and do a little $18 million indie thing and try to build it up. "In order to stay in the same game, you got to give him a fighting chance. And the easiest way to transfer that over — at least, from the studio point of view — was have Wick in Ballerina in a special timeline."

Jessie J 'so grateful for the love and support' after breast cancer diagnosis
Jessie J has thanked her fans for their outpouring of "love and support" following her breast cancer diagnosis. The 37-year-old pop star went public with her health issues earlier this week revealing she is battling an "early" form of the disease and is currently undergoing tests before surgery later in the year - and she now has expressed her gratitude to everyone who has reached out to her since she explained her situation. In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "So grateful for all the love and support and kindness from everyone who has reached out to me in the last two days." Jessie - who is mother to two-year-old son Sky with basketball star Chanan Colman - previously revealed she was given the diagnosis prior to the release of her single, 'New Secrets' on April 25 and she has been "in and out of tests" since. She said in an Instagram video: "Before 'No Secrets' came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word 'early'. "Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding onto the word early. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period." Jessie went "back and forth" with herself about whether she should share her news, due to there being "lots of opinions outside". However, the 'Who You Are' singer felt she should tell all, particularly because of the name of her latest single, 'No Secrets', which was inspired by a miscarriage she had in 2021. She said: "To get diagnosed with this, as I'm putting out a song called 'No Secrets' right before a song called 'Living My Best Life,' which was all pre-planned before I found out about this, I mean you can't make it up. "I just wanted to be open and share it - one, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. "I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me, with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. "I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much, similar and worse. That's the bit that kills me." Jessie is still planning to perform at this year's Capital Summertime Ball on June 15 at London's Wembley Stadium, but afterwards she will undergo surgery and "disappear for a bit". She said: "It wasn't something I'd planned, but yeah. I'm getting to keep my nipples, that's good. It's a weird topic and a weird situation. "I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive t*ts and more music." The 'Price Tag' hitmaker joked: "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job."
