Search teams say they're getting close to finding missing teacher who vanished in Lake Oconee
Search teams say they're getting close to locating missing Westminster teacher Gary Jones, who disappeared on Lake Oconee nearly three weeks ago.

They've narrowed down the search to an area that's difficult to maneuver through.
Volunteers with the search team told Channel 2′s Tyisha Fernandes, Lake Oconee is a small community that wants to help the Jones family get closure.
'We want closure. Everybody wants closure. I mean the family can't put this to rest until we find him,' said fishing guide Mark Smith.
A Channel 2 Action News photographer launched NewsDrone 2 over the area where investigators are concentrating. It's the same area the Department of Natural Resources recovered Jones's boat, his shoes and his fiance's body, Joycelyn Wilson.

The area is full of submerged trees that investigators believe played a role in whatever happened to Jones.
Smith believes that if you don't know Lake Oconee well, you don't understand that you need to stay far away from the buoys.
The emergency dive response team has been out all 18 days. Their sonar equipment picked up a few images that were promising.
'Unfortunately we've looked at over 40 different hits like this or alerts. As we're continuing to go down we're looking at another one (and) another one and it's frustrating and takes a lot of time. We won't stop until we find him,' said Richard Pickering.

A Georgia couple is now behind bars after allegedly leaving a 3-year-old alone in a backyard shed for weeks, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Sarah Elizabeth Pombert, 34, and Joseph Matthew Turner, 35, were arrested on Monday after allegedly keeping 3-year-old Bjorn Turner in a backyard shed in Douglasville, Georgia, from May 1 to May 22, according to an arrest warrant obtained by ABC News on Friday. The shed was described as a "dirty living space" that did not have running water or electricity, according to the warrant. The suspects allegedly left the child "unsupervised, unbathed and unclothed with criminal negligence," according to the warrant. The two were arrested for second-degree child cruelty and are currently being held in the Douglas County Jail, according to jail records. Neither Pombert nor Turner has a defense attorney listed as of Friday, according to court records. One of the couple's neighbors, Matthew Govoni, told Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB that the shed burned down during Memorial Day weekend, but officials have not disclosed how they became aware of the child living there. The Douglas County Fire Department did not immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment. Govoni told WSB that Pombert and Turner have lived in their home for more than a decade and was "not surprised" to hear about the child's living conditions due to "the lifestyle they live." "I'm saddened for them and the child, but I mean, for the child, I hope they can get to a place where they can be helped," Govoni told WSB.

USDOJ says 3 Mexican nationals face charges from Cobb County meth lab bust
Three 'illegal aliens from Mexico' face charges following a methamphetamine lab bust in Cobb County. One is still on the run. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Juan Perez-Maldonado, Francisco Garcia Gomez and Filemon Hernandez-Jijon were charged after a federal operation on June 3. Officials said Drug Enforcement Administration agents saw Hernandez-Jijon allegedly supply two kilograms of meth to a drug customer in Smyrna. Then, they watched as Hernandez-Jijon go back and forth from a Marietta mobile home. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] DEA agents got a search warrant for the mobile home and found Perez-Maldonado and Garcia Gomez, while a third person ran from the scene. Inside, agents found an active meth lab being used to convert liquid methamphetamine into a crystal-like form and at least 13 kilograms of what looked like the finished drug product, USDOJ said. Agents also found two handguns, including one that was hidden in the tank of a toilet, as well as money remitter receipts with Garcia Gomez's and Hernandez-Jijon's names, according to the Justice Department. Also in the apartment, agents found a Springfield XD firearm and mechanical press used to turn powder into kilogram bricks, according to USDOJ. As the investigation continued, agents found that Perez-Maldonado and Hernandez-Jijon had already been deported and removed from the United States earlier. While Perez-Maldonado and Garcia Gomez appeared in court on Wednesday for charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, officials said Hernandez-Jijon is currently a fugitive. 43-year-old arrested after stealing car at gunpoint, prompting chase, police say
A man is in custody after police said he stole a car at gunpoint and led officers on a chase Thursday. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Around 6 p.m., Dayton officers were called to the 500 block of East Third for reports of a car stolen. The car had been taken at gunpoint, according to a Dayton police spokesperson.
