See inside vibey new metro Phoenix hotel, an 'odyssey of the senses'
Old Town Scottsdale's newest hotel aspires to redefine what a party in the desert looks like, while adding a hint of luxury.
The Remi Scottsdale, Autograph Collection, is scheduled to open in July 2025. It boasts Scottsdale's largest rooftop pool, Camelback Mountain views and five new restaurants.
The hotel, which cost $140 million to develop, is in a lively entertainment corridor adjacent to nightlife spots like Maya Day + Night (the hotel was originally called The Maya), Bottled Blonde and Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row.
It enhances the action with what Shy Coleman, The Remi's sales and marketing director, describes as "an odyssey of the senses" − an experience-first boutique for travelers who want to be in the heart of it all.
What is the Remi Scottsdale Autograph Collection about?
The name Remi is short for "reminisce." The hotel's midcentury modern aesthetic aims to integrate a contemporary look and feel with nostalgic iconography like the 1950s diner-inspired feel of its F-Sixteen restaurant, Coleman said.
The Remi isn't far from the four-star W Scottsdale and Senna House hotels. Coleman described the level of service at The Remi as "luxury that doesn't take itself too seriously."
"It brings a new level of sophistication to Scottsdale's entertainment core, with rooftop vibes, five culinary concepts and a design story that celebrates reminiscing on old school luxury," Coleman said. "Think champagne towers, leather and midcentury modern accents, lush greenery and curated art installations that are meant to spark conversation."
Inside the guest rooms at The Remi Scottsdale
The 12-story hotel has 161 rooms including 25 suites, Coleman said. Standard king rooms are 325 square feet and standard queen rooms are 375 square feet.
Two presidential-style loft suites have access to the rooftop pool. There's also a hospitality suite with two bedrooms, one with two queen beds and another with one king bed.
Each room features spa-inspired rain showers, custom robes and slippers, smart TVs, Wi-Fi, toiletries from Côte Beauty and minibars.
The rooms have a leather scent because the headboards attached to the beds are made from real leather, Coleman said.
The Remi has Scottsdale's highest rooftop pool
One of The Remi's selling points is that it has the highest rooftop pool in the city, atop the tower's 12th story. The pool area, known as Allegra, is described as the social heart of the hotel.
Allegra will feature DJ sets and late-night bottle service. People lounging on the rooftop are treated to views of the city, Camelback Mountain and the Papago Buttes.
The Remi has 475 square feet of event and meeting space − a tiny fraction of the space offered by resorts like The Phoenician or the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess − but that's by design. It's not meant to be a "typical ballroom hotel," Coleman said.
There's a private dining room designed for board meetings and executive dinners, and the rooftop lounge and pool can be used for private celebrations, corporate networking and team-building, or "stylish socializing" events. The hotel's flagship restaurant, Kauboi, can host casual meetings in its Whiskey Bar that features lounge furniture and a speakeasy aesthetic.
Each aspect of the hotel is designed to inspire human connections and keep people from being glued to their phones, Coleman said.
"It's not just a place to stay, it's a place to be seen," she said.
The Remi Scottsdale opening date
The Remi Scottsdale plans to open on July 22, 2025.
The Remi Scottsdale restaurants
The Remi will have five food and beverage outlets:
Kauboi, a Japanese-Western fusion restaurant.
Kauboi Terrace, an exclusive section of Kauboi with its own bar and private cabanas.
F-Sixteen, inspired by a 1950s diner.
The Remi Lobby Bar.
Allegra pool bar.
Parking at The Remi Scottsdale
The Remi offers valet parking for $45 per night. Self-parking is not available. Guests who don't valet can use nearby public garages or metered street parking.

Everyone Is Making The Same Joke About The 31-Year-Old Baby, And I'm Sorry But It's A Good One
An Ohio couple welcomed their baby boy, Thaddeus, last week! Little Thaddeus isn't your typical newborn, though. He's 31 years old. Thaddeus was born from an embryo that had been frozen for 31 years, making him the longest-frozen embryo to ever result in a successful birth. A tweet from Pop Crave gorgeously visualizing the momentous occasion is going viral: PopCrave/Igor Kovalchuk via Alamy/Twitter: @PopCrave The replies are somewhat killing me. These jokes write themselves. "That baby could've been playing tony hawks pro skater 2 and listening to killswitch engage but now it has to play fortnite and listen to carti," one person said. Another person pleaded: "If life begins at conception, let this baby DRIVE and VOTE." And this person said, as a matter of fact: "She should be at the club." But one joke is more popular than the rest. It's this: "The first kid to have the RIGHT to claim he was born in the wrong generation." Because this thing is so absurd, here are some of the funniest tweets about this 31-year-old baby: "Good luck explaining that gap on ur resume bitch." "The concept of starting life at 31." "No the oldest baby ever is still this one." "Avatar: The Last Millennial." "God I'd be so pissed to find out I could've been a chic 90s baby and now I'm just a quirky headline in humanity's apathetic end times." "Imagine being born 31 years old." "The Birth of the Final Millennial." "Poor kid missed out on all the good shit." "That baby is going to have a weird craving for some Fruitopia." "This poor kid could've been born during one of the best decades in history and instead he's born into the era of Cocomelon, TikTok, and AI slop." And lastly: "Baby freezer burnt as hell I'm sure."

SPLINTER CELL Series Creator Derek Kolstad Explains Why Sam Fisher Is 'Not the Best' — GeekTyrant
Netflix's upcoming animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch is bringing back stealth icon Sam Fisher, but not exactly the way longtime fans might expect. Series creator Derek Kolstad, the writer behind John Wick and Nobody , recently opened up about his approach to the character, and he doesn't see Sam Fisher as ultimate ghost operative. Kolstad told Den of Geek: 'One of the things that I like about Sam Fisher, John Wick, and Hutch Mansell [from Nobody] is that, yes, they're pretty badass at what they do but, more importantly, they're not the best. They get beat up.' That an interesting outlook considering Fisher's reputation as one of gaming's most elite covert agents, but Kolstad seems intent on making him more grounded and vulnerable. This means that Deathwatch might lean toward a grittier, hands-on style similar to Splinter Cell: Conviction , rather than the purely shadow-driven approach from the original trilogy. In the early games, Fisher was a master of infiltration, relying on high-tech gadgets and his iconic night vision goggles to ghost through missions without leaving a trace. Kolstad went on to explain: 'You look at the games, and he's incredibly adept and comfortable at tech, but sometimes a bullet or a blade or the ripping out of some cord is your best line of defense.' That philosophy hints at a Fisher who isn't invincible, and whose fights might be a little more brutal and desperate this time around. But Kolstad believes the heart of the character remains the same. 'I always loved the world of Splinter Cell. I'm a huge fan of army-of-one [stories] if you do it right. And yet, even though he's had hard decisions to make, it's just refreshing that Sam Fisher's a hero. 'He has moments of empathy and having to do this thing when both decisions are wrong, but one is a little less wrong at the cost of his soul and his own personal life, but for the benefit of the rest of us.' Splinter Cell: Deathwatch will feature Liev Schreiber as the voice of Sam Fisher, stepping into the role long held by Michael Ironside. The series made its first appearance at the Annecy Festival, where director Guillaume Dousse revealed some of the visual and tonal inspirations for the show, citing Ghost in the Shell , Ozark , and even elements of Mission: Impossible . Producer Hugo Revon added: 'It was interesting to have this aging character, not totally like the Tom Cruise version but more realistic, and more weathered by life.' The series is set to hit Netflix in late 2025, joining the platform's growing roster of video game adaptations like Castlevania and the upcoming Devil May Cry series. Meanwhile, fans are still waiting on that elusive Splinter Cell remake, which Ubisoft teased years ago but hasn't delivered any meaningful updates on. So, how do you feel about a Sam Fisher who isn't the best at what he does?

This Is the No. 1 'Feel-good' Destination in the U.S.—and It Has Gorgeous Beaches and Endless Sunshine
We've only got a few more magical weeks of summer left in 2025, so it's key to soak in and enjoy every minute. And the best place to do just that is in one sunny, West Coast city. In early June, BetMGM Casino released its list of the best "feel-good" cities for summer as part of its seasonal city entertainment analysis. The list ranked 15 popular U.S. cities based on a handful of key metrics that make a destination fun, including the number of outdoor dining venues available, the number of nature trails, ice cream stores, dog parks, swimming pools, wellness events, sunshine hours, summer temperatures, and the number of live music events scheduled between June and August 2025. After reviewing all the available information, Los Angeles was named the No. 1 feel-good city in the nation. "Los Angeles, famous for its gorgeous beaches, Hollywood stars, and palm trees, is the ultimate destination to take in some feel-good vibes this summer," the findings revealed. "You only need to glimpse the city to see its beautiful mix of urban city, greenery, and sandy beaches." The team noted that Los Angeles offers travelers pristine summer weather, thanks to its average temperature of 73.4, and with 986 hours of sunshine throughout the season. It's also a great place to find a little zen thanks to its 240 wellness facilities, including yoga, dance classes, and Reiki sessions. "This city offers plenty of swimming pools for those particularly warm days, and hundreds of parks to explore with an ice cream," it added. "It's no wonder L.A. ranks first on this list. The city is set up to feel like a California dream." However, East Coasters aren't far behind on the fun, with New York City ranking as No. 2 on the list. "America's most famous city is best known for its iconic landmarks, food, and entertainment. While it's a huge hotspot for tourists during Christmas, it's also a fantastic city vacation spot for summer, filled with activities and healthy living," the team stated in the findings. They also noted that the city ranked so highly thanks to its "fantastic amount of summer-friendly facilities for its incredible population size of over 8 million people." It too has plenty of sunshine over the season, 800 hours in total, and "is fantastic for exploring over 304 miles of nature trails, and has 107 ice cream stores within 1 mile of the city's very center." Joining these two at the top of the list is Chicago at No. 3, followed by San Diego and Denver, rounding out the top five.
