A celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and nature, The Macallan's Harmony Collection has long embodied the spirit of innovation.
Now, in its fourth edition, the revered single malt Scotch whisky brand invites us into a world where flavour meets performance art, unveiling Harmony Vibrant Oak in an extraordinary collaboration with Cirque du Soleil.
The union of these two iconic names is more than a meeting of minds; it's a shared philosophy.
The Macallan and Cirque du Soleil are both driven by artistic integrity and a deep respect for the natural world. This partnership began in 2024 in line with The Macallan's 200th anniversary with Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT– an immersive, nature-inspired show held at The Macallan Estate in Speyside in the highlands of Scotland.
The performance brought to life the story of The Macallan through movement, light, and music, culminating in a powerful symbol: an oak tree, representing the lifeblood of the brand's whisky-making heritage. Photo: Supplied
This reverence for oak is at the very heart of The Harmony Collection IV. Each bottle tells the story of the wood that defines The Macallan — its sherry-seasoned oak casks, which impart up to 80 per cent of the whisky's flavour and all of its natural colour. Vibrant Oak (domestically available) is matured in a blend of first-fill American and second-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks, offering a sensory journey through the nuanced characteristics of these wood types.
Expert whisky maker Diane Stuart explains, 'Oak plays such an important role in the colour and flavour of The Macallan. Bringing it to life through our packaging is incredibly inspirational.'
And indeed, the packaging is where the Cirque du Soleil connection shines through most vividly. Photo: Supplied
The presentation box for Vibrant Oak features an intricate illustration of Ayla, a character from SPIRIT, entwined in the branches of an American oak tree. Ayla embodies youthful energy and a deep bond with nature. The gold-toned design, laced with peacock feathers, reflects the vibrancy and natural colour of the whisky – a nod to The Macallan's core values of beauty, heritage, and innovation.
The SPIRIT experience itself is set against the breathtaking backdrop of The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland, where guests are immersed in a multisensory journey where storytelling, performance, and bespoke whisky tastings intertwine seamlessly. Every detail is crafted to awaken a sense of wonder and deepen our connection to the natural world. Photo: Supplied
As with previous releases in the Harmony Collection, sustainability remains a guiding principle. The packaging is crafted from repurposed oak chippings – a by-product from cask making – giving new life to organic materials. It's a thoughtful reminder of the interconnectedness of nature, art, and craftsmanship.
From the chocolate-inspired first edition with Spain's Roca brothers, to the coffee-forward second chapter, and now the theatrical grandeur of Cirque du Soleil to the fashion-forward collaboration between Stella and Mary McCartney celebrating the lands of Scotland, The Harmony Collection continues to evolve, drawing from its past to create something utterly unforgettable.

UK's King Charles to visit Italy and meet Pope Francis in April

"Their majesties the King and Queen will undertake state visits to the Holy See and the Republic of Italy in early April 2025," the palace said. The state visit will be Charles's first to the Vatican for talks with the head of the Catholic church since becoming king in 2022. Charles has gradually made a return to public life after beginning treatment for cancer early last year, and has been on several state visits since. The royals are set to join Pope Francis for Jubilee Year celebrations organised every 25 years by the Catholic Church. Charles and Camilla will also visit Rome and Ravenna in northern Italy to celebrate "the strong bilateral relationship between Italy and the United Kingdom," the palace said. The king previously visited the Vatican five times as Prince of Wales, most recently in 2019. Ahead of his first state visit to Italy as monarch, Charles will join a "UK-Italy dinner" at the Highgrove Gardens royal residence in south-west England on Friday. The dinner celebrating "the slow food and slow fashion movement" will be joined by the royal couple, the Italian ambassador to the UK and American actor Stanley Tucci. Tucci, who hosts a TV travel show exploring Italian culture and cuisine, last year starred as a cardinal in the Oscar-nominated political thriller Conclave.

How you can watch the 2025 Super Bowl on TV in Italy

The 2025 Super Bowl, one of the most anticipated events in the American sporting calendar, will unfold in the early hours of Monday, February 10th, with kickoff scheduled for 12.30am Italian time. This year's edition will see the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, go head-to-head with the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with Kendrick Lamar set to perform in the Halftime Show. If the Chiefs were to win this year's game, they'd be the first team in history to ever win three back-to-back Super Bowl titles. But how can American football fans catch the game in Italy? How to watch the Super Bowl on TV Mediaset, Italy's largest private broadcaster, has bought the rights to this year's Super Bowl and will show the game on Italia1 (channel six) with Italian commentary. The channel is available on all Italian TV sets, with viewing free of charge. For those who don't have access to a TV, Super Bowl LIX will also be available on Mediaset's streaming platform, Mediaset Infinity, which can be accessed online or via mobile app. Viewing will be free of charge, but you'll be asked to set up an account first. Mediaset won't have exclusive rights to the Super Bowl this year, as streaming platform DAZN Italia will also air the game live, though you'll have to subscribe to the service to access the game. DAZN's Super Bowl pass costs €0.99. Unlike Mediaset, DAZN will make the broadcast available for replay right after the game, which makes it the best option for those looking to get some shut-eye and catch the game later on Monday. Where to see it live The Super Bowl isn't just a game. It's also an exceptional viewing experience that many love to share with fellow fans. Unfortunately, there are very few chances to watch the game in the company of others in Italy due to the time of the game and tight national laws on venues' opening times. However, some establishments across the boot, especially in major cities, will still show the match. For instance, Hard Rock Cafes in Venice, Florence and Rome will all show the game, with the venues also offering special tailgate menus and music performances for the occasion. The Highlander Pub in Rome is hosting a watch party, offering a special €35 package including a seat, a drink and a special Super Bowl LIX t-shirt. Booking early is advised. The East River American pub in Milan's Piazza Vetra will also be showing the event. Again, it's advisable to book your spot well in advance. American football fans in Florence can catch the game live at the Tennis Sports Bar and Grill, south-west of the city centre.
