'I cried having £4.5k Turkey teeth fitted - now people say I've ruined my smile'
A woman who cried having her £4,500 Turkey teeth fitted says she 'loves' the results - despite trolls telling her she has ruined her smile.
Tara Omidi said she was left in agony after a routine root canal treatment forced her to get two teeth removed. Left feeling 'insecure' after a UK dentist 'failed' her, the 31-year-old, from Oldham, started looking online for a fix.
Tara soon found a dentist in Turkey with good reviews and a decent price tag. But she said she didn't expect how painful it would be.

The content creator, who has 45,000 followers, doesn't regret her pursuit of a Hollywood smile, but has come under fire from TikTok trolls.
"The teeth I had removed were right at the back of my mouth and caused my remaining teeth to move away from the centre of my face, leaving me feeling very insecure when I spoke," Tara said.
"People would make indirect digs and comments. It would make me so shy and I'd just crumble. I decided I was going to have them all shaved down, realigned and have crowns fitted.
"I researched into the best clinics and paid that extra bit more to make sure I got the result I wanted."
Having heard about 'Turkey teeth' horror stories, Tara said she was 'terrified', but said the urge to fix her smile was stronger. She added: "I felt really insecure. My job is social media and I'm known for being the happy, always laughing person.
"I was terrified about going to Turkey as you always hear the horror stories, but I did my research and asked so many questions beforehand.
"I used WhatsApp to send over pictures of my teeth and went through a consultation online with the clinic. Then I flew over to Turkey within about eight weeks of booking the appointment.
"I was nervous flying out, but knew that I hated how my old teeth made me feel, so I tried to keep that feeling in my head."
Tara added: "I felt I could trust the clinic as they were very thorough with their examinations and X-rays.
"But it was painful, the actual fitting. People do lie about it and make out it is a breeze. I cried having them fitted."
Tara spent four days abroad, which included the procedure, resting in her hotel room and attending a final check-in with the dentist.
She shared a video to TikTok from her hotel room after she had her teeth filed down, which happens before crowns are fitted.
The post has gathered over 330,400 views, 3,500 likes and hundreds of comments.
One person said: "You have ruined your own teeth." Another commented: "I dunno how people can do this."
But despite the doubters, Tara said 'everything has been great' in the months since her procedure. "They throbbed for the first two weeks but everything has been fine since," she added.
"'I love them - they have given me my confidence and smile back. Of course you get trolls online saying horrible things but people think they have the right to say and do nasty things – I couldn't care less.

Passenger Feels Plane Hit Ground When Landing—Then She Sees What Happened
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Passengers on a flight were unexpectedly soaked in alcohol after a hard landing caused two bottles to break in an overhead bin. The moment was captured in a TikTok video posted by user @ which has amassed over 2.2 million views since it was shared on June 21. The clip shows the aftermath of the mid-air mishap. One woman is seen standing in the aisle, drenched, while the other remains seated with a hoodie pulled over her head, also visibly soaked. Text overlaid on the video reads: "POV [point of view], you fly Rynair [an Irish budget airline]." The caption accompanying the clip adds context, explaining: "The landing hit the ground so hard it broke two bottles of alcohol in the overhead locker and poured all over us but at least the seats were nice and clean." The humorous moment comes amid what the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has described as a "robust and sustained" period for global travel. According to the UNWTO, around 300 million tourists traveled internationally in the first quarter of 2025—14 million more than the same period last year. The agency noted a five percent year-on-year increase in international tourist arrivals, even surpassing pre-pandemic levels by three percent. 'The Inability to Listen' Viewers on TikTok had plenty to say about the messy moment in the viral video. Many placed the blame not on the airline, but on the passenger who improperly stored the alcohol. "POV: you fly with someone who doesn't know how to stow luggage correctly," wrote user Julia Jaworska. Another viewer, @ remarked: "That's why we say that liquids have to go under the seat." Others echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the airline's existing safety protocols. "This is nothing to do with Ryanair. It's the moron passenger that packed the booze," commented a user named Farlow. User @laura_fangirl4 agreed, pointing out "the problem not being the airline but the inability to listen..." User @lifebyklaudia added: "That's why they shouldn't be in overhead lockers." Meanwhile, Jack added: "And that's why it clearly says on the lockers and by the crew all duty free bags must go under seats. There [are] so many electrical components up there and [this] could cause a fire." One commenter, Bethkellet513, simply said: "Sometimes you just got to laugh." The original poster replied: "It was so funny, just felt so bad for everyone." Newsweek has contacted Ryanair via email and the original poster via TikTok for comment.
