Man stunned by 'rare' £2 charity shop find and it's worth a small fortune
Kev was amazed when he stumbled upon a "rare" find and he can't believe the hefty sum it sold for online
Charity shops can often be gold mines for those with a keen eye for hidden gems, as one ardent deal-seeker recently found out. Rooting around the board game shelf at his local charity shop, one man struck upon something rather unexpected.
Kev, as he simply goes by online, couldn't wait to share his thrift store haul on TikTok, buzzing about snatching up a bargain for a mere £2. He declared: "You're never quite sure what you are going to find when you walk into a charity shop. But this one definitely surprised me."
Monopoly sets are a familiar sight in second-hand shops, but Kev highlighted that it's the lesser-known editions that merit attention. With its release stretching back to 1935, Monopoly has spawned well over a thousand special editions, creating an enticing challenge for collectors scouring for something distinctive.
As he delved deeper, Kev admitted: "I've never seen this Littlest Pet Shop version before." Hasbro, which also oversees Monopoly, owns the Littlest Pet Shop, known not just for its toys but as an animated series too, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The reason Kev was taken aback by his discovery was simple: "There's good reason why - it's a pretty rare game." He mentioned the critical step of verifying whether all necessary components are in place.
Luckily for Kev, his due diligence paid off splendidly. Victorious, Kev confirmed: "There they are - the four playable pieces that this game comes with - as well as what looks to be the complete set."
When Kev presented his unpriced treasure at the counter, he casually asked how much it might cost. The response from the staff member was music to his ears: "Games are usually £2," she stated.
"I'll take that then," Kev exclaimed joyfully, before announcing: "There we go - board game secured for £2 - absolute bargain."
Upon getting back, Kev checked the contents of the game and was pleased to find it was "fully complete" and in "really, really good condition".
Kev noted: "The playable characters, the cards, the money - it even had the discard cards in there - this has not been played with at all."
Everyone was eager to know the actual value of the game. Kev showed an eBay screenshot indicating a similar Monopoly set had recently sold for a sizable £115.12.
"It's exactly the same," he underscored, then revealed further prices. He disclosed another version sold earlier fetched £73.08 and one piece from the game astonishingly went for £52.
"Pretty crazy," admitted Kev, mentioning there were no exact matches of his version currently up for auction. With optimism, he said: "Fingers crossed I should be getting that £115 or maybe a bit more."
Another individual stated: "That is absolutely crazy... great find."
While a third praised his eagle eye: "Wow! I would have completely bypassed this, thanks for the tip Kev! Cracking find."

My brother got my name tattooed on his FACE – people think ‘it screams unemployment' & has ‘ruined his chances at love'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A WOMAN has left people gobsmacked after showing off her brother's new tattoo. Jozie Rorebeck explained that her sibling, Riley Rorebeck, recently surprised her with a forehead inking dedicated to her. Alongside a short clip that has now gone viral, Jozie wrote: 'My brother got my name tatted on his face.' She then added: 'I'll absolutely never go to bed questioning if I'm loved EVER again.' To share his affection for his sister, the young man who already has tattoos on his arms and hands, got his sibling's name inked on his forehead. Jozie, who described Riley as her 'ride or die' explained that the placement of the tattoo was to replicate a similar inking to a famous American rapper and singer-songwriter. She confirmed that Riley wanted it in the same place and in an identical front as Lil Pepp, who has the 'Crybaby', his fourth mixtape, inked above his eyebrow. It comes eight years after the death of the artist, who was a rising star in the music industry. But the TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @jozierorebeck just two days ago, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and amassed 1.3 million views. It has also racked up 174,400 likes, 1,566 comments and 6,717 shares. But social media users have been left totally divided by the man's large face tattoo. I never have to buy clothes as I've got them tattooed on & love it but trolls totally disagree While some thought it was 'adorable', others claimed it had ruined not only his chances at finding a partner, but also at securing a job too. One user gushed: 'Literally so sweet.' A second agreed: 'This is genuinely so adorable.' Whilst someone else chimed in: 'This is the sweetest thing ever.' But at the same time, not everyone was as complimentary, as one person said: 'Any sister in their right mind would never let their brother do that to themselves.' RIP his job applications TikTok user To this, Jozie replied and confirmed: 'My family and I had no idea he was doing this.' Meanwhile, another hater gasped: 'A face tat for your sis is crazy.' A third begged: 'Please say that's a temporary tattoo.' Which tattoos hurt the most? Depending on what part of your body you choose to ink, tattoos can range significantly in terms of pain levels. Some of the most painful areas are those where the skin tends to be thinner or closer to the bone. Each area has specific factors which contribute to the level of pain. Ribcage: Thin skin, little muscle, and many nerve endings. Feet and ankles: Many bones, tendons, and nerve endings close to the surface. Hands and fingers: Many bones, tendons, and nerve endings, resulting in increased pain during tattooing. Knuckles can be especially painful. Spine: Proximity of the spinal cord and nerve endings makes it sensitive. Tattooing directly over the vertebrae can be especially painful. Knees and elbows: Thin skin and little padding between the skin and the underlying bones. Armpits and groin: High concentration of nerve endings and lymph nodes. Neck and throat: Thin and sensitive skin, with many nerve endings and blood vessels close to the surface. Source: Tatt2Away Someone else questioned: 'Is he never planning on having a wife or kids??' Similarly, another hater claimed: 'Ruined his chances at love.' Not only this, but others shared their concern for Riley's future career, as one user slammed: 'RIP his job applications,' and another suggested: 'Screams unemployment.' But there was one bizarre condition. The tourist, who has over 75,000 followers on TikTok, said: 'I would stay there again, but the only thing is you couldn't be loud after 11pm." The strange rule stated that tenants had to be quiet after an 11pm curfew - despite it being located right above one of the busiest clubs in town. Graham explained: "You're above the busiest nightclub in Benidorm that closes at 5am so it's bouncing all night." The influencer shared a clip of the place on TikTok which amassed 758,000 views. In the video, Graham can be seen touring the cheap flat with an open plan kitchen-living area, two sofa beds and a TV. The apartment has stunning views of the holiday hotspot, and big open windows. There is a huge bathroom with a walk in shower, as well as two single beds in an airy bedroom with a balcony. He also showed a wraparound balcony with multiple pieces of furniture and views of the swimming pool, sea and strip. 'The cost of them puts people off but we have stayed in some hotels that cost a fortune and then had a cheap £160-a-week apartment that is a lot better. "Don't let the price put you off." He added: "We have stayed in some really rough places too - it's not all good when it's cheap - but 90 per cent of the time they are sound." His post has received hundreds of comments online with many slamming the apartment for being too noisy. One user said: 'Ye get no sleep to much noise. Stayed there.' Another added: 'Poor man's Dubai.' One even said that when staying there, they couldn't get any sleep. 'I stayed there years ago … no sleep for 4 days," they said. Meanwhile another user chimed in: 'Stayed there so loud.' 5 Furious social media users jumped online to slam the hotel's rule Credit: Jam Press/@Benidorm_grumet1
