Life Water Berhad acquires Twinine
Published on: Fri, May 30, 2025 Text Size: Twinine recorded steady audited revenues of RM8.60 million in FY2022 and FY2023, and an unaudited RM8.50 million in FY2024, with a three-year average profit after tax (PAT) of RM0.91 million. Kota Kinabalu: Life Water Berhad, one of Sabah's leading beverage manufacturers, is taking a major leap beyond its core business with the RM10.5 million acquisition of Twinine Sdn Bhd, a seasoned player in the sauces and condiments market. Life Water Managing Director Liaw Hen Kong, said the move marks a significant milestone in Life Water's diversification strategy, while its core drinking water segment is set to grow by 40 percent with new production capacity coming online by the end of 2025. 'The acquisition was formalized via a Share Sale Agreement (SSA) to acquire 100 percent equity interest in Twinine, a company with over 35 years of experience and market presence across Sabah's West Coast, parts of Sarawak and Brunei,' he said in a statement. He said Twinine recorded steady audited revenues of RM8.60 million in FY2022 and FY2023, and an unaudited RM8.50 million in FY2024, with a three-year average profit after tax (PAT) of RM0.91 million. 'This is a strategic step forward in expanding our presence within the broader FMCG space. 'Twinine's product line complements our distribution capabilities, and we see clear potential to accelerate growth through cross-branding and tapping into shared consumer segments. We're particularly excited about bringing their products deeper into the East Coast of Sabah, where our existing network gives us a strong foothold,' he added.
Advertisement As part of its integration plan, he said, the company will introduce dual-shift operations at Twinine's existing facility to boost production. 'The Group is also exploring the establishment of a new manufacturing site at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park to support long-term growth in the condiments category. Twinine's founder will remain on board for two years to guide the transition and help drive expansion plans,' Liaw said. The acquisition is expected to enhance group earnings and accelerate Life Water's entry into new consumer markets under its broader fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) strategy. The company also revealed that its core drinking water operations are on track for a 40 percent capacity increase by the end of 2025. Liaw said The Group's new Keningau plant, operational since early this year, has already added 59 million liters of annual production, pushing total capacity to 448 million liters per annum. Further expansion is underway at the Sandakan Sibuga Plant 1, where a new manufacturing line is being commissioned and expected to be completed in the second half of 2025. 'This will add another 178 million liters of annual capacity, raising the Group's total production to 626 million liters—a 40 percent increase compared to current levels,' he said. The company also announced its financial performance for the third quarter ended 31 March 2025 (Q3FY25), reporting RM43.12 million in revenue—up 0.95 percent from the previous quarter—driven by seasonal demand for carbonated and fruit beverages. Liaw emphasised that the drinking water segment remained the largest contributor, accounting for 82.6 percent of revenue. The Group achieved a gross profit (GP) of RM19.52 million with a GP margin of 45.3 percent, while profit before tax (PBT) was RM8.11 million and PAT stood at RM6.48 million. Margins slightly moderated due to the implementation of the minimum wage policy and temporary inefficiencies linked to expansion. For the nine-month period ended March 31, Life Water recorded RM128.42 million in revenue and RM20.97 million in PAT, maintaining a solid PAT margin of 16.3 percent. With a two-pronged strategy of organic growth and strategic diversification, Life Water is positioning itself as a rising multi-category FMCG player in East Malaysia. The Twinine acquisition enhances its product offerings and opens new growth channels, while the expanded production footprint ensures continued leadership in the bottled water space. Liaw said, as consumer demand evolves and competition intensifies, Life Water remains optimistic about its growth trajectory for FY2025 and beyond. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news? YTL Power posts record RM2.4b annual profit on higher power and telco earnings, declares four sen dividend
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 — YTL Power International Bhd's net profit declined to RM2.40 billion in the financial year ended June 30, 2025 (FY2025) from RM3.41 billion in the same period a year ago. Revenue also eased to RM21.81 billion from RM22.28 billion due to lower performance in the telecommunications business. On its prospects, the group expects to remain resilient due to the essential nature of its operations and said it will continue to closely monitor the related risks and impact on all business segments. 'For power generation, the group will be developing a large portion of the Kulai Young Estate into a large scale solar power facility with a generation capacity of up to 500 megawatts (MW) to co-power the adjacent 600 MW green data centre park. This is in line with the group's shift towards investing in more sustainable renewable energy solutions moving forward,' it said in a stock exchange filing. For the telecommunications segment, it said YTL Communications Sdn Bhd expects to extend its 5G services to the rest of the country, in tandem with the rollout of Digital National Bhd's 5G network. 'By continuing to offer affordable data plans and offering innovative 5G services, this segment is looking to increase its subscriber base, bolstered by partnerships and collaborations,' it added. YTL Power's net profit weakened to RM670 million in the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2025 from RM1.01 billion in the same period a year ago, while revenue fell to RM5.55 billion from RM6.31 billion previously due to lower performance in the power generation business. It declared a second interim dividend of four sen per ordinary share for FY2025. The book closure and payment dates for the dividend are October 2, 2025 and October 23, 2025, respectively. — Bernama

Kinergy Advancement Q2 net profit rises 17pct as revenue jumps 134pct
KUALA LUMPUR: Kinergy Advancement Bhd (KAB) recorded a net profit of RM12.7 million for the first half of financial year 2025 (1H25), up 20.9 per cent from RM10.5 million a year earlier, as revenue rose 98.3 per cent to RM166.3 million from RM83.9 million. Earnings per share stood at 0.61 sen for the six-month period, compared with 0.53 sen in the same period last year. The group attributed its performance to the energy segment as the core revenue driver, while the Engineering division built on this foundation to provide executional strength. Together, both segments are expected to support contributions from the group's largest engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract win in the coming quarters. For the second quarter ended June 30, 2025, KAB posted a 16.6 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit at RM6.5 million. Quarterly revenue rose 133.8 per cent to RM97.7 million from RM41.8 million in 2Q24, supported by project progress across both segments. The group said this was driven by its operational discipline and strong project execution, with the group generating operating cash flow of RM51.1 million in 1H25, a sharp increase from RM5.8 million in the same period last year. It also reflects the group's ability to consistently convert topline growth into real cash, reinforcing liquidity to support future expansion, it added. Since diversifying into the energy segment, KAB said it has charted a clear and sustainable growth trajectory, while its engineering legacy remains a cornerstone of strength and credibility. The group noted that this purposeful transformation, driven by visionary leadership, continues to deliver measurable milestones and strategic progress. With a healthy order book of RM1.34 billion and a tender pipeline of approximately RM2.78 billion, the group anticipates stronger quality earnings and an enhanced capacity to fund expansion into larger scale projects. Looking ahead, the group said it has a portfolio of long-term concession projects, partnerships with industry players, and experience in sustainable energy solutions (SES) and EPCC. The group aims to strengthen its position as a Malaysia-based EPCC player through the engineering segment, while developing the SES segment into a full-fledged independent power producer.

PETALING JAYA: LBS Bina Group Berhad, a property developer, today announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025, which delivered a resilient performance amidst the Group's efforts to lay a solid foundation for its next wave of growth. The Group's revenue of RM309.8 million contributed to a profit after tax and minority interests (PATMI) of RM27.1 million in the quarter under review. This came on the back of some of the Group's projects, which had achieved completion or were nearing completion last year. The Group's township developments are expected to continue delivering steady contributions ahead. For the first half of 2025, LBS achieved a cumulative revenue of RM639.0 million, predominantly from the property development segment which contributed 95.5% of the total revenue. Consequently, LBS delivered a PATMI of RM55.3 million. Moving forward, LBS' sales performance remains creditable with total property sales and bookings of RM690.20 million and RM401.11 million respectively as of Aug 19, 2025. Klang Valley remains as the primary growth driver, led by its top performing township, LBS Alam Perdana, which registered the highest sales growth. Over the medium to long term, the Group's performance is expected to be further enhanced through the development rights agreement which was signed with Kwasa Land Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries to develop 192.32 acres in Kwasa Damansara. Carrying a gross development value of approximately RM8.30 billion, the premium residential development will be executed in phases over 14 years, significantly entrenching LBS' presence in the Klang Valley. LBS Group executive chairman Tan Sri (Dr) Lim Hock San remarked, 'We are currently in a transition phase, preparing for the next wave of launches under our 8 x 8 Strategy alongside the transformative Kwasa Damansara Township. These initiatives, supported by our 3,780-acre landbank serve as growth drivers in our expansion journey. They will form a sustainable development pipeline that will underpin our growth over the medium to long term.' 'With RM1.33 billion in unbilled sales to be progressively recognised and healthy sales momentum in our core Klang Valley markets, we have strong earnings visibility ahead. Our established townships, KITA @ Cybersouth, LBS Alam Perdana, along with Prestige Residenceand Idaman projects, continue to perform well, reinforcing our competitive position and our ability to deliver long term value for shareholders,' he added.
