LGFA launch All-Ireland Ladies Football Championship in style as 2025 TV fixture schedule revealed
THE stage is set for the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Championships – with 33 counties aiming for six coveted spots at Croke Park for TG4 All-Ireland Finals day on Sunday August 3rd.
Representatives from the competing teams gathered at Croke Park today to officially launch the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Championships, which commence next Sunday (June 1st) with fixtures in the Junior and Intermediate grades.
To mark the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Championships launch, TG4's Peil na mBan Beo lead anchor Máire Ní Bhraonáin was joined in Athlone last week by Senior team captains Roisin Rodgers (Donegal), Kate Geraghty (Galway), Aoibhín Cleary (Meath) and Cáit Lynch, representing holders Kerry.
Intermediate contenders Ailish Considine (Clare) and Ellen Irwin (Roscommon) were also present, alongside Junior team captains Bronagh Devlin (Antrim) and Áine Breen (Louth).
The Senior Championship will commence on Saturday June 7 with three fixtures – Galway v Tipperary, Kerry v Mayo and Meath v Armagh – while Waterford will take on Dublin on Sunday June 8.
TG4's live TV schedule for the group stages of the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship has also been confirmed.

The Meath-Armagh clash on Saturday June 7th (3pm) will commence the live coverage, followed by the clash between Waterford and Dublin on Sunday June 8th (1.30pm).
There's a live TV double-header pencilled in for Saturday June 14th, as Kildare host Meath at 12.45pm, followed by the meeting of Cork and Kerry at 2.30pm.
And on Saturday June 21st, when the group stages conclude, the live TV offerings are Tipperary v Donegal (1pm) and Mayo v Cork (3pm).

The groupings for the All-Ireland Senior and Intermediate Championships were populated as the provincial campaigns progressed.
At Senior level, defending champions Kerry, aiming for back-to-back titles and fresh from retaining their Munster title at the weekend, are in Group 2 alongside Mayo and Cork.

Group 1 features Connacht champions and 2024 All-Ireland Finalists Galway, Donegal and Tipperary, with Ulster champions Armagh, Meath and Kildare in Group 3.
Group 4 contains Leinster champions Dublin, Waterford and Leitrim.
In the Intermediate Championship, last year's finalists Tyrone will be hoping to go one better this time and they're in Group 2 with Leinster champions Westmeath and Down.
Group 1 contains Roscommon, Laois and Fermanagh, with Ulster champions Cavan, Monaghan and Wicklow in Group 3.

Group 4, meanwhile, contains Clare, Offaly and Wexford.
The Junior Championship will be contested by nine counties, with 2024 runners-up Louth, Derry, Sligo, Kilkenny and Limerick in Group A, while Group B features London, Longford, Antrim and Carlow.
In the Senior and Intermediate Championships, two teams will emerge from each group to contest the quarter-finals, with the top two teams in each of the Junior groups progressing to the semi-finals.
The LGFA and TG4 have also confirmed that the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship semi-finals are currently scheduled as a potential double-header at Glenisk O'Connor Park in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, on Saturday July 19th (5.15pm and 7.30pm).
The 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Finals will be staged as a triple-header once again at Croke Park on Sunday August 4th, with the Junior Final at 11.45am, followed by the Intermediate decider at 1.45pm and the Senior Final at 4.15pm.
Peil na mBan Beo will be available to audiences globally on
Former Galway star Máire Ní Bhraonáin will lead TG4's Peil na mBan Beo coverage once again for the forthcoming Championship season. The commentary team will be headed up by Brian Tyers.
They will be joined by expert panellists including former Cork TG4 All-Ireland Championship winner Rhóna Ní Bhuachalla, ex-Waterford ace Michelle Ryan, Kerry's 2024 All-Ireland winning joint manager Declan Quill, Donegal's Emer Gallagher, Westmeath's Sarah Dolan and more.

The stage is set for the Junior, Intermediate and Senior championships
TG4 have been title sponsors of the All-Ireland Ladies Football Championships since 2001 and the partnership has evolved into one of the most recognised and innovative in world sport.
In 2022, TG4 announced a five-year extension of their sponsorship of the All-Ireland Ladies Football inter-county championships, with this deal set to last until the conclusion of the 2027 season.

Kerry aim to end Ulster opposition inferiority complex, Cork look for underage crumbs of encouragement
Two very different agendas for Cork and Kerry at O'Moore Park this afternoon. Let's throw in with Kerry seeing as their All-Ireland MFC quarter-final is the first of the Portlaoise double-header. Kerry's opposition is Cavan. Kerry's opposition is Ulster and so the hour's fare provides the latest opportunity to see how an underage Kingdom crop fares against a leading northern outfit. Not to throw in with hyperbolic statements but Kerry minor and U20 teams of late have developed something of an inferiority complex when stood opposite northern opposition. The results and the evidence speaks for itself. In the 2023 and '24 campaigns, Kerry's minor interest ended at the hands of Ulster opposition - Derry and Monaghan - at the All-Ireland semi-final stage. The year previous, the then Kerry management were visibly ecstatic on the Portlaoise sideline at scoring a one-point All-Ireland quarter-final win over Tyrone. The same management, the summer before, had suffered defeat to Derry in the delayed 2020 decider. So that's Kerry coming off second best in three of their last four minor outings against an Ulster team. At U20, Tyrone bettered them this year and last. Mercy Mounthawk suffered the same fate in the All-Ireland post-primary semi-finals of this year and last. The approach minor manager Wayne Quillinan outlined midweek is one, as results attest to, that Kerry underage teams of all hues have floundered against in recent years. 'Cavan are going to be ultra defensive. In fairness, they're really, really well coached. They're really hard to break down. Obviously with the numbers back, they're looking for turnovers. They're looking to break at pace.' For Cork, the challenge is a little less nuanced and rather more straightforward; that is to successfully negotiate the All-Ireland minor quarter-final hurdle. Derry, Dublin, and Mayo, by very different margins, have shown Cork the exit door at this stage of the championship over the past three years. The most recent of those was last June's worrying 3-14 to 0-6 beating by Mayo. Arriving as it did off the back of a 15-point Munster final whacking, the conversation and concern surrounding the health of the county's underage set-up had its volume turned up. Lamentably, the results did not spark any meaningful introspection by those in power. Following 10 and nine-point defeats at the hands of Kerry in recent weeks, Cork football and the current minor students could badly do with a performance and scoreline that provides crumbs of encouragement going forward. Encouragement, on the whole, has been in short supply for Cork football this summer. Across minor, U20, and senior, there have been 11 championship outings. The four victories are split into two categories. Two comfortable wins over Clare and Limerick at U20 and senior. And two incredibly near escapes against Tipperary at minor and U20. In short, Cork have not bettered a county at or above their station. Does that change here?
