Mariah Carey wants to know what your type is because hers is 'dangerous'. The songbird supreme is back!
After a nearly seven-year album hiatus since her 15th studio album 'Cautious' in 2018, the pop legend is coming back with a bang.
The 56-year-old singer-songwriter has announced that she is dropping a new single, 'Type: Dangerous', on Friday, June 6.
On Monday, June 2, the 'Shake It Off' singer took to her Instagram to share a short, thought-provoking video that instantly ignited speculation. The caption reads: 'What's your type?'
In the clip, she is seated in a black McLaren convertible, applying lip gloss while listening to her 2005 hit 'It's Like That' as she changes the song to a track titled 'T:D_MC16.mp3'.
'To show my appreciation for your support, thank you, DJs,' she says as the beat continues.
The video then pans to the car's number plate, which displays 'MC16', which alone has sent her fans into a frenzy as they wondered if a new album is on the horizon after she teased a single.
In the second video that she posted, she is seated in the car again while music plays on the radio with the engine loudly running before the shot cuts to a message reading, 'June 6'. This now confirms that a new single by the iconic singer is on its way.
The news comes after she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her 2005 chart-topping album, 'The Emancipation of Mimi', which, according to 'Billboard', spent two weeks at number one back in 2005.

Next Stay Close ✕ The weight of the season's events has profoundly impacted her. 'While I cannot say much right now, I do want to set the record straight about one thing: the graphic sexual photo surrounding the events in Episode 5. That photo was not me,' she asserted, creating a ripple of confusion and concern among fans and cast alike. Eady clarified that she had only recently seen the controversial image and expressed her shock upon realising it did not feature her. 'I was made aware of the photo being presented at the event, and based on what I was told, I assumed that it was somehow a photo of me - which is why I reacted in the way that I did,' she explained. This revelation not only sheds new light on her dramatic reaction but also inadvertently shifts some focus back to Moore, whose departure from the series has left a significant void. I'm disappointed to not be a part of the #RHOA 16 reunion taping today. Please know I take full accountability for my actions and deeply apologize to all those affected including Brittney, the cast, crew, guests and viewers. I look forward to seeing you all back on Bravo soon. — KENYA MOORE (@KenyaMoore) June 5, 2025
