Rescuers search for crew of cargo ship that sank after being attacked in Red Sea
Security firms involved in the operation said four crew members and one armed guard from the vessel had been pulled from the water, where they had been for more than 24 hours.
They said they had not yet made visual contact with the rest of the 22-member crew nor two more guards who were aboard.
'We will continue to search for the remaining crew until the last light,' said an official at the Greek-based maritime risk management firm Diaplous.
'We aim at a peaceful operation,' the official said earlier.
Eternity C was first attacked on Monday afternoon with sea drones and rocket-propelled grenades fired from speedboats by Yemen-based Houthi militants, maritime security sources said.
Two security sources said on Wednesday that the vessel was attacked again on Tuesday night, forcing the crew to jump into the water.
The Iran-aligned group has not claimed responsibility for the attack.
One source said there were fears the Houthis may have kidnapped some of the crew.
The crew is made up of 21 Filipinos and one Russian. The four armed guards include one Greek national.
The Liberia-flagged vessel's Greek operator, Cosmoship Management, has not responded to requests for confirmation of casualties or injuries.
Greek government officials have been in diplomatic talks with Saudi Arabia, a key player in the region, over the incident, according to sources.
Eternity C is the second vessel attacked in the Red Sea in the past week after an assault on the cargo ship MV Magic Seas, after months of calm in the region.
The deaths are the first involving attacks on shipping in the Red Sea since June 2024.

‘Did I just save her life?': US trucker honored as ‘angel' for role in abduction rescue
A professional trucker who had a hand in saving a California abduction victim while driving through Tennessee – and recording key video evidence with his windshield camera – recently earned recognition as an 'angel' of the US's highways, according to officials. Ron Ross, who drives for MCK Trucking in Madison, Alabama, is at the center of the dramatic story, which has seized attention in media circles dedicated to unearthing uplifting news stories. He was parked at a rest area along Interstate 40 in rural west Tennessee near the city of Jackson in February when he noticed a young woman running barefoot with her shoes in her hand. She ran about a quarter of a mile and dived into the woods while a man chased after her, according to what Ross, of Newport, Tennessee, said in a US Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) news release. 'I thought in my head: 'Something's not right about that,'' Ross said. 'It scared me.' Ross dialed 911 to call for emergency help. A nearby Tennessee highway patrol arrived within five minutes, and the woman was rescued, the TCA said. A camera on Ross's windshield recorded video of the scene that he turned over to police. From speaking with law enforcement, Ross understood the kidnapped young woman had been brought from California, and investigators believed the video was 'solid evidence to use in the prosecution of the abductor', the TCA's news release said. 'I asked another truck driver who was there: 'Did I just save that girl's life?'' read a statement from Ross cited in the press release. 'I hope I did.' The transportation safety director at MCK, David Wheeler, told the TCA that his company encourages its drivers 'to say something if they see something'. 'MCK is grateful to have a driver like Ron who makes a difference in the world,' Wheeler said in a statement. The TCA since 1997 has administered its so-called highway angels program that recognizes truck drivers who display kindness, courtesy and courage while on duty. Ross was designated a TCA highway angel at the end of June, according to the organization.

The daughter of notorious underworld figure Carl Williams is currently enjoying a fun summer holiday in Europe. Dhakota Williams shared a series of posts to Instagram as she soaked up the sun in Italy before relaxing in Greece. The 24-year-old looked worlds away from her younger years in the spotlight as she showed off her natural beauty and fuller lips while posing for a several selfies. In one image, Dhakota put on a busty display as she stretched her body on a towel while relaxing in Taormina, Sicily. The Gangland heiress also posted a second video to her Instagram on Tuesday after arriving in Mykonos. She flaunted her figure in a white bikini as she soaked up the sun on a poolside bed. Dhakota was nine years old when her drug kingpin father Carl was bludgeoned to death at Barwon Prison by fellow inmate Matthew Charles Johnson in 2010. Once dubbed the 'Baby Faced Killer,' Williams was jailed for 35 years in 2007 for ordering the murders of three rivals, and more time for conspiring to kill a fourth. In 2022, Dhakota and her mother Roberta joined OnlyFans after revealing their reputations made it difficult to find a 'normal' job. Dhakota also said at the time that her late father would be proud of her signing up to the adult subscription site. 'Is your dad rolling in his grave that you do OnlyFans?' one of her followers asked during an Instagram Q&A. The socialite responded that her infamous dad 'would be so proud of me for being successful and supportive of any path I choose to take'. 'He was very big on doing whatever makes you happy and if you've got it, flaunt it,' she added. Trump ally saves life of bleeding 11-year-old boy with tourniquet after nasty car wreck
A Republican congressman was shocked when he saw a minivan careen into a semi-truck at full speed on the highway, and luckily for those involved, his Navy SEAL training kicked in. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Wis., saved the life of an 11-year-old boy after witnessing the wreck's fallout and quickly rushing into action. Van Orden, 55, was driving with his wife, Sara, down Interstate 35 near Osceloa, Iowa, on Saturday when he saw the crash in his rearview mirror. 'I'm watching a Dodge Grand minivan disintegrate. It seemed to drift off the road at about 70 miles per hour, more so on the passenger side of the car. My wife, Sarah, was like, what happened? I looked at it, I said, someone just died,' the lawmaker recounted to the Washington Examiner. The Wisconsin Republican and former SEAL Team Four member for over 20 years knew that he had to act. 'I ran to the passenger side, where all the damage was, and there was this 11-year-old kid, and I looked at him, and his calf, which is about as big as my thigh, was completely ripped apart, so I could see his tibia and his fibula, just a big chunk of him bleeding,' Van Orden shared. 'And he had an arterial bleed in his right wrist,' he added. What the former special operator did next harkened back to his days in combat: He returned to his car, retrieved a pair of socks and fastened them to create a makeshift tourniquet. 'By then, probably 10 people had also pulled over to help, I'm like, does somebody have a knife? And they're like, yep. So I cut the seat belts off and then made tourniquets,' the congressman told the outlet. Soon after Van Orden arrived at the scene, other good Samaritans also stopped by to aid the boy. The congressman praised the others alongside him who helped to administer care to the shocked family before first responders arrived. 'Some big old Iowa farm dude, probably 60-something, rips off a windshield wiper for his arm, then another lady there said she was a medic,' Van Orden recalled. 'She wound up grabbing a piece of metal and made a tourniquet on his leg, and then all of us packed him up and got him up into the ambulance.' Time was of the essence, too, as the injured boy was losing an immense amount of blood, the lawmaker said. For miles all around the interstate stretched rural farmland, and without rapid medical attention, 'he would've been gone,' Van Orden told the outlet. 'It took about 10 to 15 minutes. He would've bled to death,' the Republican disclosed. After the scary accident, Van Orden checked in on the boy on Monday at a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. A photo released by the congressman's office shows him kneeling next to the boy in the hospital. The young man is seen flashing a thumbs-up while lying in his hospital bed as Van Orden, in a trucker hat, holds up what appears to be a puppy. The lawmaker said he was heartened by his fellow Americans' inclination to assist the impacted boy and his family. 'What happened out there is everything that I love about America. So we're in the middle of somewhere, and this happens, and people just start showing up. They start asking, 'Hey, can we do this? Can we do that?' he said.
