Hazy sunshine expected through the weekend

Hazy sunshine expected through the weekend

Yahoo14 hours ago

SALT LAKE CITY () — Happy Friday, Utah! Friday afternoon will feature more sunshine and hot temperatures. A southwesterly breeze will help to keep some dust and haze in the air. Highs will warm into the mid-90s for the Wasatch Front to 101° for St. George.
A stronger ridge of high pressure will settle overhead, leading to drier and hotter conditions just in time for Father's Day weekend. High temps will be in the mid to upper 90s for the Wasatch Front. Across southern Utah, high temps will warm between 100°-105°.
The warm temperatures, low humidity levels, dry vegetation, and gusty southwest winds will lead to a critical fire danger developing across portions of central and southern Utah. Any outdoor burning will be highly discouraged.
A weak trough may arrive early next week, knocking a few degrees off daytime highs, but overall, expect well-above average temperatures and mainly dry conditions to stick around through most of next week.

FORECAST: Pop up storms this afternoon

FORECAST: We're drying out from last night's showers, just to rinse and repeat that forecast again! It's going to be hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s, feeling like the low 90s this afternoon. And while the first half of the day is dry, the second half will feature pop-up showers and storm chances again. Similar to the past few days, we'll watch for locally heavy rainfall and flooding issues in areas that storms sit over. Any activity that pops up tonight will slowly clear overnight before we do it again for Father's Day! A similar pattern will continue into next week with temperatures slowly climbing into the low 90s by late week. WATCH ABOVE: The latest forecast update from Severe Weather Center 9. Scattered PM Storms for Father's Day Weekend, Summer Begins Friday!

FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND:We're starting out in the low 70s this morning, and with dewpoints in the low 70s, there are some areas of fog or reduced visibility. We'll see mostly cloudy skies for today with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. We aren't expecting anything severe, but they could definitely pack a punch. Highs today will be in the upper 80s. Sunday, we'll see a little more sun with highs near 90, and again those afternoon and evening pop up showers and storms. NEXT WEEK:We start out with scattered showers and storms, but more isolated to stray storms by the weekend. Monday we'll see mostly cloudy conditions with scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms and highs near 90°. Tuesday through Thursday, the chance for showers and storms decreases as we only see isolated storms and highs in the low 90s. Humidity levels will remain quite highs, so heat index levels could easily approach 100°. By the weekend, the rain chances continue to decrease, although with the humidity levels still fairly high, there will be continued chances for stray afternoon an evening showers and storms. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s. Thanks for watching WRBL News 3 and have a great Saturday! – Meteorologist Brian Thomas Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Rain chances slip heading into the weekend in Central Florida

Our chances of rain are starting to slip as we enter the weekend. Dry air moving in from the Caribbean will reduce rain chances and lead to warmer temperatures for the next week. Saturday's best chance of rain is in the middle of the afternoon. Areas west of Orlando will have the best chance of rain during the afternoon. Severe weather is not expected, but can't be ruled out. If you see a stronger storm, the main impact will be 40 mph wind gusts. Father's Day is looking hot. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid-90s. Rain chances will be higher near the coast. The dry conditions lead to this heat; we won't see many changes over the next week regarding afternoon highs. Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
