As rumours of a possible split between the couple started doing the rounds, Ssunita decided to set the record straight.

'I removed Ahuja and added an extra s in my first name. But this change happened almost a year ago,' she clarified in a chat with Bombay Times. 'It was done purely for numerology purposes. I want name and fame—who doesn't, right?' she laughed.
And it seems the strategy is working. When asked if the change brought the fame she had hoped for, Ssunita replied with a wink, 'Absolutely! Can't you see how viral I've gone in the last few months? I'm all over the internet!'

While she may have made cosmetic changes to her name for numerological reasons, Ssunita made it very clear that it has nothing to do with her identity or relationship with Govinda.

As for the divorce rumours? Ssunita shut them down completely. 'We are a happy family. Until something comes directly from both of us, don't assume anything,' she stated, urging the public not to jump to conclusions based on social media changes alone.

Govinda and Ssunita tied the knot on 11 March 1987, and over the decades, they've stood by each other through the highs and lows of showbiz.
The couple has two children—daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardan Ahuja. Through it all, Ssunita has remained Govinda's biggest cheerleader, often speaking up about his talent and struggles in an ever-changing industry.

You have to see what is working now. If you make films from the past, the audience will not like it,' she explained.
