The Canada international has attracted significant interest. He was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. Chelsea and West Ham United were notable suitors. However, the most intense interest has come from Italy.
Napoli were in talks to sign the striker, however, he now looks on the verge of completing a move to Juventus. As per Romano, they are close to reaching an agreement with the player. Negotiations are ongoing with the Turin-based club hoping to be given the green light soon.

Canucks lose Pius Suter for $8 million contract from Western Conference rival

There was some doubt all along as to whether the Vancouver Canucks could keep Pius Suter. Turns out, they couldn't. It took until late in day two of free agency, but Suter has reached a two-year, $8 million deal with the St. Louis Blues that will pay him $4 million per year, according to The Athletic's Chris Johnston. Advertisement MORE: Oilers and Connor McDavid haven't reached a deal yet The Swiss forward Suter turned 29 in May, and he's coming off a season with the best shooting percentage of his career. He probably doesn't have a ton of upside, given that a stat like that points to some statistical regression. But he also came in below his projected contract value, so maybe that was baked into negotiations. MORE: Wild's Kirill Kaprizov chasing a record contract Before the 46-point season, Suter had between 24-36 points in each of his first four NHL seasons. The Blues will surely be happy to get a secondary scoring forward. Advertisement But the Canucks shouldn't feel too bad about losing him, either. MORE NHL NEWS:

The Toronto Blue Jays were without shortstop Bo Bichette (knee) in the last two games against the New York Yankees, but that didn't stop them from defending the Rogers Centre. They won Monday's bout 5-4 and Tuesday's 12-5, putting them just one game behind the Yankees atop the AL East. Advertisement The fact that Toronto won both games without Bichette, who leads with team with 97 hits, showed that it has a deep roster. Superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Monday, and veteran outfielder George Springer went 3-for-4 with two homers, seven RBI, and two runs scored on Tuesday. The Blue Jays announced Bichette's status before Wednesday night's rematch, via Keegan Matheson. Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (11)Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images "John Schneider says that Bo Bichette feels a bit better today and will try to warm up with a regular day," he reported. "They're hoping he's available off the bench tonight, but that's still TBD." Advertisement Infielder Ernie Clement will start at shortstop and hit sixth. Right-handed pitcher Jose Berrios (4-3, 3.26 ERA) will start against Yankees right-hander Will Warren (5-4, 4.37 ERA). Berrios had no earned runs allowed over his last two starts. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. earns the nod as all-star starter for the fourth time

It's five and counting for Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the face of the Blue Jays' franchise, whose $500-million contract extension kicks in next season. By the time his days in Toronto are completed, Vlad Jr. is almost certain to eclipse his father's all-star appearance total. His hall of fame dad was named nine times to baseball's mid-summer classic. Following the completion of Wednesday's voting, Vlad Jr. was named to his fifth career all-star game, which this year will be staged July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta. Guerrero will start for the American League team at first base after he outpolled New York Yankees star Paul Goldschmidt. Guerrero earned 75% of the vote, marking the fourth time in his career to earn the starting nod. Vlad Jr. went on record last week when the Jays were in Boston that he won't take part in the home run derby. Teammate Alejandro Kirk also was one of two players on the ballot to determine the starting American League catcher. Although Kirk is in the midst of a successful season, his chances were next to none given the season Seattle's Cal Raleigh has posted in leading all of baseball with 33 home runs. In the first stage of voting, which determined the first two all-star starters, Yankees superstar Aaron Judge was the leading vote-getter in the AL, while L.A. Dodgers megastar Shohei Ohtani led the way in the National League.
