Liverpool airport's brutal five-word dig at Trent Alexander-Arnold as former Anfield idol prepares to make his debut in Club World Cup for Real Madrid
The fallout of Trent Alexander-Arnold 's depature from Liverpool rumbles on even as the England star prepares to make his debut for Real Madrid on Wednesday against Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal in Miami.
Alexander-Arnold opted to run down his contract at his boyhood club before joining Real this summer, with the Reds eventually receiving a £10million fee to enable the right back to play in the Club World Cup.
He received a mixed reception in his final weeks on Merseyside after confirming his departure, with his own fans booing him when he came on as a substitute against Arsenal last month.
The 26-year-old has made an effort to endear himself to his new club and their suppoters by giving a speech in fluent Spanish and sharing his early experiences as a Real Madrid player on social media.
That, however, has not left him immune to continued criticism from home.
One post in particular drew the attention of Liverpool John Lennon Airport who reacted by making a snide dig at Alexander-Arnold on their official X account.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has come under fire as he prepares to make his debut for Real Madrid
Alexander-Arnold posted a montage of his flight to Madrid and his presentation as a Real player to the backdrop of Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny's Monaco.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport quoted the post on their own X account and wrote 'He even flew from Manchester', getting their point across with a snake emoji.
The tweet was later replaced, with the snake swapped for an eyeroll emoji but not before it was seen by hundreds of people.
Alexander-Arnold, who signed a six-year-old deal at Madrid, has taken the squad number 12 and will be known simply as 'Trent'.
After Real's opener against Al-Hilal, the Spanish giants will face Pachuca and RB Salzburg before, potentially, progressing to the knockout rounds.

Enzo Maresca gives take on ‘strange' Chelsea CWC game in ‘almost empty stadium'
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca praised his players for dealing with a 'strange' environment after kicking off their Club World Cup campaign with a victory in front of almost 50,000 empty seats. The Blues beat Los Angeles FC 2-0 in their Group D opener at the 71,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in a fixture watched by a crowd of just 22,137 on Monday afternoon as a debate over the level of interest in FIFA's new-look competition raged on. Speaking at his post-match press conference, Maresca, said: 'I think the environment was a bit strange, the stadium was almost empty, not full. 'We are professional and we have to adapt to the situation, to the environment. You have to adapt when you play with a full stadium. You have to adapt when the stadium is not full, but it doesn't matter.' Asked about the poor attendance, opposite number Steve Cherundolo was diplomatic. The LAFC boss said: 'I think it is different each game you look at. In the Rose Bowl in LA, there was a huge crowd for the game between PSG and Atletico Madrid. Maybe LA likes football more than Atlanta? I don't know, we should judge at the end.' Maresca was nevertheless pleased with Chelsea's performance, but was already looking towards Friday's clash with Flamengo in Philadelphia. Pedro Neto broke the deadlock in the 34th minute to give the Premier League side a deserved lead at the interval, and they wrapped up victory in the 79th minute when summer signing Liam Delap crossed for fellow substitute Enzo Fernandez to tap in from close range. Maresca praised debutant Delap and quickly switched his attention to the fixture against Brazilian outfit Flamengo. He said on Channel 5: 'Very good result. At this stage of the season it is also normal that you have to manage different kinds of things. Overall the performance has been good. 'We have to recover. We have a game in three days so we will see. We are going to prepare in the best way and for sure try to win. 'The good thing about Liam is he knows the way we want to play so the process is quite quick. Also we gave a chance to Dario Essugo which is another player we have, so it's good for both of them.' Delap signed from Ipswich for £30million 12 days ago and it took him just 15 minutes to register his first goal contribution. The 22-year-old said: 'It's a really happy feeling for me. I'm so excited to be here and to play my first game, and be able to contribute is a good feeling. 'The team have welcomed me really well. I have only had a few sessions here but I am excited for more. 'It is good to help the team but I want to score some as well. 'It is always good to have competition, this is football. It is an incredible club and it is always going to be incredibly hard but you have to thrive off the competition.'

Transfer news live: Mbeumo's decision, Arsenal battle for Gyokeres, Everton sign Walker, Chelsea open winger talks
The transfer window is now open once more following a short closure after its initial mini-opening ahead of the summer's Club World Cup. The window has officially re-opened today, Monday 16 June, with clubs able to accelerate deals ahead of the new season. Liverpool are making plans for a Florian Wirtz medical later this week after agreeing a record £116.5m deal for the German superstar. The Premier League champions, who have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong, will make Wirtz their club-record signing after agreeing a deal with Bayer Leverkusen. However, they may well lose left-back stalwart Andy Robertson, with Atletico Madrid circling. Manchester United, who have secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m, are negotiating with Brentford about Bryan Mbeumo, who would prefer a move to Old Trafford over Tottenham Hotspur even as Thomas Frank takes charges in north London – though Spurs want Mbeumo and teammate Yoane Wissa. Arsenal hope to bring in Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, and Mikel Arteta has made RB Leipzig striker, Benjamin Sesko, their No 1 target for a striker. However, the Gunners have reportedly submitted an initial offer for another forward option – Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres. You can sign up to DAZN to watch every Club World Cup game for free, while all the latest updates, rumours and done deals from what promises to be a chaotic transfer window will be covered in the blog below: Mbeumo's mind is made up on summer move We start with Bryan Mbeumo and the news that he has made a decision to join Manchester United over Tottenham Hotspur. That's according to Sky Sports, who reports that Mbeumo would prefer a move to Old Trafford despite Spurs signing his former manager Thomas Frank, and despite Frank's side having Champions League football next season. But Mbeumo will still need United to meet Brentford's valuation. Their first offer, of £45m + £10m add-ons, was swiftly rejected as the west London club seek a package worth more than £60m.
