1. Modern global societies have failed to define, identify, select, nurture, and place 'good' men in leadership positions in governance to lead us; and failed to give us teachers, professionals, businessmen and workers to educate us to be 'good'.
We can attempt to define the good, as those who are Committed to knowing and fulfilling their duties to society, organization, family, Self; Committed to striving for quality and excellence in work and relationships; Committed to striving to develop feelings of love, care and concern for all, etc., which have now been expressed by GOI as be a 'Karma Yogi'; 'treat work as worship of God in man and in all creation'.
To imbibe such spirit of selfless Committed to Duties, religion and education must together inspire us to the necessity of daily self-development practices to learn how to strive to build powers of mind to know and be convinced to walk-the-talk.
2. Our time-tested civilizational culture of Sanatana dharma recognizes that the masses will always need symbols, images, god-men and their life and teachings for inspiration. Only a few Selfless men of wisdom can draw inspiration from universal principles alone, irrespective of their religious beliefs. As mature citizens we should recognize that Principles and Essence of all Religions are universal and eternal and these can be taught in mainstream systems, to inspire all 'to be and do good'. My religion, my ways of worship, my source of inspiration and ideas of divinity may be different, but 'selflessness' and learning 'to do and be good' is our universal ideal.
Commonsense provides the simple fact and obvious principle and worldview that as 'Self, Life, spirit, Atman, Rooha' that makes us 'exist' 'consciously', like it or not, we're all One and shall exist eternally (maybe in different names and forms, e.g. rebirth!) because the law is 'that which exists, can never cease to exist'. Somehow, we've never been made aware of this reality and so, identified with Body-mind we become self-centered. Thru' learning to be Selflessly Committed to our Duties, our Mind expands to grow in feelings of love, care, concern for all equally. Only some very few who grow thru' their respective religions, will understand this and strive sincerely to be and do good. These should be nurtured to be our mentors, teachers and leaders.
As you sow so shall you reap is universal law. Our culture shows and believes that we will continue to take rebirth and grow till we finally recognize that as Self we're all One. Schooling and Preaching must work together to inspire us to realize that Goodness can be acquired only through individual self-effort, in and through daily work, dealings and interactions, and the inspiration for it comes through daily self-development practices.
Respective religions may inspire us to be and do good thru' their respective religious scriptures etc. and epics like Ramayana, Mahabharat, Puranas, and the many gods and goddesses can also provide the inspiration for the masses. Both the educated and the masses keep forgetting the eternal knowledge 'To be and to do good'!
The purpose of all Religions is to give clarity on the aim and purpose of life and create systems to guide people towards it. Essentially all Religions suggest that during Schooling and Growing up we must learn to Imbibe commitment to Righteousness. Righteous conduct implies those virtues or obligatory duties, which lead people on the critical path, to 'Know Thyself'; to know that as body-mind we're separate but as SELF that makes us into Conscious Living-beings (Jiva-atman) we're all One.
Each of us has to individually grow towards Oneness through self-effort and selfless work as worship. The parents and elders of society, the teachers, all the educated people, the statesmen, executives and public servants have the responsibility of creating necessary systems to inspire people to walk on the right path; and they can do so only when they themselves strive for the higher and seek guidance of the selfless men of wisdom. Righteous conduct, Dharma, is the Fruit of all Religions; it is the firm foundation upon which the entire universe stands.
Thus, all religions and education and Preachers & Teachers must be evaluated and judged by their ability to produce the Good, who have learnt and are committed to both Earning and fulfilling all Desires through legitimate means. Thus, Preaches and Teachers must encourage and inspire people to strive to develop powers of mind – discrimination, 'viveka', and the self-control, will power, powers of concentration to walk the critical path to 'Perfection' through Righteous conduct.
It is only daily and life-long continuous practice that can help in developing powers of mind. Continuous practice and self-effort alone can keep people aware of the purpose of life so that they can keep on reviewing and harmonizing their choices, thoughts, words, and goals towards the highest perfection.
Conclusions: All work, actions good or bad, are only efforts to seek 'bliss', which always eludes man! Our culture asks us to reflect and realize that I enjoy maximum Bliss, Ananda, only in deep-sleep state, when I am in my own blissful Self, detached from ever-changing body-mind complex. Only thru' selfless work as worship for good of all, i.e. being a Karma Yogi, can we enjoy this Ananda even while working and living.

Sensex, Nifty open a tad lower amid consolidation phase

Mumbai: Indian equity indices opened a tad lower on Tuesday as heavyweights like L&T and Bajaj Finance were trading in the red. At 9:24 am, Sensex was down 152 points or 0.19 per cent at 81,221.39 and Nifty was down 36.40 points or 0.16 per cent at 24,680.40. Buying was seen in the midcap and smallcap stocks. Nifty midcap 100 index was up 167.85 points or 0.29 per cent at 57,943.40 and Nifty smallcap 100 index was up 107.85 points or 0.60 per cent at 18,202.05. On the Sectoral front, auto, PSU Bank, pharma, metal, realty, media were major gainers. Financial services, FMCG and energy and pvt bank were major losers. According to analysts, after a flat opening, Nifty can find support at 24,700 followed by 24,600 and 24,500. On the higher side, 24,800 can be an immediate resistance, followed by 24,900 and 25,000. In the Sensex pack, Eternal (Zomato), Tata Steel, M&M, IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors and Asian Paints were major gainers. L&T, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, HUL, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki were major losers. Most of the Asian markets were trading in the green. Tokyo, Shanghai, Jakarta and Hong Kong were top contributors. Analysts said that during a consolidation phase, where the market moves within a range, buy on dips is the ideal strategy. 'And this strategy is working well now. With a lot of uncertainty in geopolitics, tariffs and trade the market will continue to remain volatile. Therefore, investors may persist with the strategy of buying on dips," said VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited. Meanwhile, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) extended their selling for a second consecutive session on June 2 as they sold equities worth Rs 2,589 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) extended their buying on the tenth day as they bought equities of Rs 5,313 crore on the same day.

Paris: Patrick Pouyanne, Chairman and CEO of the French energy giant TotalEnergies, has said the company is committed to continuing to support the expansion of Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL). In a meeting with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal here, Pouyanne said they are committed to continuing to support the expansion of Adani Green, 'which already has 14 gigawatts of capacity,' and we 'will continue to support this growth.' Pouyanne also outlined TotalEnergies' broader Indian expansion plans, including increased energy exports from the US. Goyal also posted on X: 'Met Patrick Pouyanne, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies and discussed the company's investment plans for India and avenues for deeper collaboration in the renewable energy sector'. The French energy major has about $5 billion worth of investments in India, focusing on natural gas infrastructure, city gas development, and renewable energy projects, particularly solar and wind. In January 2021, TotalEnergies collaborated with Adani Green for the first time when it acquired a minority stake in the renewable energy company. Last month, Adani Green Energy Limited became the world's first renewable energy (RE) Independent Power Producer (IPP) to turn water positive across its entire operational portfolio, which exceeds a massive 14 GW capacity. AGEL achieved water positivity a year ahead of its FY26 target to set a new standard for sustainability. It is the first and only among the top 10 global companies (in terms of operational RE portfolio) to ever reach this milestone. Adani Green posted robust FY25 results, surpassing $1 billion in EBITDA, as operational renewable energy (RE) capacity grew a healthy 30 per cent to 14.2 GW (year-on-year), which continues to be India's largest. The Adani Group company reported greenfield addition of 3.3 GW in FY25, India's highest ever by any RE firm, and contributed 16 per cent of nationwide utility-scale solar and 14 per cent of wind installations last fiscal. AGEL is developing a massive 30 GW renewable energy plant at Khavda in Gujarat. This is spread over an area of 538 sq km, almost five times the city of Paris.

Remove Ads India should prioritize electric vehicle (EV) adoption to reduce its dependence on oil imports and strengthen energy security, International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol said on Monday after a meeting with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal."India should look at the electrification of mobility very closely because currently we have low oil prices, but the country is definitely at the mercy of some key oil producers," Birol warned. "If India wants to have the upper hand in terms of domestic energy trajectories, electric cars are one of the key solutions."The IEA chief highlighted the rapid global shift toward electric vehicles, noting that electric car sales have surged from just 3 per cent of total car sales four years ago to 25% this year. "One out of four cars sold today is electric," he said. "This is mainly because electric cars are getting cheaper, slowly but surely."In many countries, electric and conventional vehicles now carry similar price tags, while operating costs favour EVs. "In most countries around the world, driving one kilometre costs less with electricity than with oil, unless oil prices fall below $50," Birol predicted that electric vehicles will eventually dominate global transportation. "The world is going to see that sooner or later, electric cars will be dominating the streets."Birol praised India as "one of the drivers of the global clean energy transition," particularly highlighting the country's solar energy achievements. "India has achieved a huge success story, especially on the solar front, and this is good for India's economy and its energy security," he IEA executive director also commended India's LED bulb program, calling Minister Goyal its architect and describing it as "one of the most successful programs in the history of energy transition." The initiative has made India's electrification system more cost-effective and environmentally also praised the Ujjwala program for bringing clean cooking solutions to hundreds of millions of households and for its efforts to provide electricity access to Indian concerns about the energy transition's supply chain, Birol warned of growing concentration in critical mineral mining and processing. "We are seeing major concentration. This is a worry because we at the IEA believe that the best energy security policy is diversification," he concentration of critical minerals--essential for energy transition, defense, and chip manufacturing--poses "serious risk for the years to come," he warned. Birol urged all countries to diversify mining, refining, and processing of key critical minerals to avoid potential supply oil-importing nations like India, Birol recommended government incentives to accelerate electric vehicle adoption. "Countries importing oil should consider giving incentives to electric cars to reduce imports from different parts of the world," he emphasized the importance of supporting consumers in purchasing their first electric vehicles, noting that countries must avoid falling behind in the electric car concerns about potential trade conflicts affecting the energy transition, Birol maintained that diversification remains the best strategy for ensuring energy security in an increasingly electrified world.
