However, there was a time in the 1990s when things were a little less rigid — like the iconic moment during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, when Ayrton Senna hitched a ride on the body of Nigel Mansell's F1 car after his own had run out of fuel.
When Ayrton Senna ran out of fuel and hitched a ride on track
The legendary British Grand Prix moment was recently shared by F1 on their X handle, leaving motorsport fans in awe. The video shows Senna taking a ride back to the garage on Mansell's car after the latter had just won the race — and was gracious enough to offer a lift.
Nigel Mansell had won the 1991 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, starting from pole position while racing for Williams-Renault. Ayrton Senna, who finished fourth, ran out of fuel in his McLaren-Honda on the final lap. True to his sporting nature, he accepted the lift back to the pits.
Fans call the British Grand Prix moment 'iconic'
F1 fans hailed the moment on X, calling it 'legendary' and 'iconic.' Many also questioned whether such an act would even be legal under today's regulations.
One user commented, 'F1 history in one frame!' Another wrote, '@fia unban this stuff bro, drivers should be allowed to have fun.' A third said, 'This is one of my favorite F1 moments.'
Another comment read, 'In today's highly regulated F1, both drivers would get points on their license and/or some kind of grid penalty for the next race. Lord save us from officialdom.' In the comments section, a user also shared another video clip and pointed out, 'You left out the funniest part — when the marshal tries to stop him and Senna pushes him away.'

Tragically, Senna lost his life three years later in a racing accident during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.

Siddharth Anand reacts as netizens compare Saif Ali Khab's Ta Ra Rum Pum with Brad Pitt's F1

Ever since Brad Pitt's F1 (Formula One) hit the cinemas, social media users are jokingly comparing it with Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji starrer 2007 released movie Ta Ra Rum Pum. While meme pages claim Ta Ra Rum Pum inspired the Hollywood movie, some are heaping praises on the Bollywood sports drama and its music album, tagging the film's director, Siddharth Anand, on social media. And now, Siddharth Anand himself reacted to the same, amid all the praise and memes on his movie. The filmmaker took to his social media handle, Twitter (now X) and wrote, "TaRaRumPum you lovely beast !" His tweet came as a surprise to the fans and meme pages. One social media user commented, "Way ahead of its time (with raising hands emoji)." Another user wrote, "Ta Ra Rum Pum is your best-directed film to date, and it truly deserves a sequel. I know you're not particularly fond of directing sequels, but if one ever gets made, no other director can do it justice the way you can. Please do consider it. The audience may have failed the film back in 2007, but this time, we'll make sure that its sequel becomes a blockbuster. (with racing car emoji).' A third user wrote, "kya din aa gaya.... Hollywood wale bollywood film ka copy kar rahe (laughing emoji).' For the unversed, the Saif Ali Khan starrer follows the story of Rajveer Singh (RV), who is a professional stock car racer. His life and career are turned upside down after an accident. It was Siddharth Aanand's second directorial venture after Salaam Namastey! Bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, the movie was a moderate success at the box office, though it won huge viewership with its satellite viewership. On the other hand, Brad Pitt 's F1 (Formula One) is storming the global box office these days. The sports drama garnered immense praise for its performances, high-stakes thrill moments, and impressive production value. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more !

F1 Alternative Ending: Director Joseph Kosinski Reveals Plans to Make This Character Win Final Race in Brad Pitt Starrer

F1 is one of the critically acclaimed films of recent times. Brad Pitt, who excels on the screen, is heavily applauded for his performance as Sonny Hayes. Days after the release of the film, the director, Joseph Kosinski, revealed that the team shot a different ending, where Damson Idris' character emerged as the winner and even lifted the trophy. The climax of the film kept the audience on the edge of their seats, where Sonny Hayes emerges victorious at the end of the final race. Joseph Kosinski reflects on F1's alternative ending In conversation with GQ, the director of F1 opened up about the new ending that was shot for the film. Kosinski said, "We actually did shoot an ending with Damson winning as well… Where he went up there and held [the trophy] up." He further added, "Did we shoot it with the cameras? I feel like we just staged it to try to throw people off. That's where the entertainment is. I mean, anyone can guess the end of a movie." While the makers of the movie stuck with Brad Pitt winning the final race, they did give consideration to an alternative ending, where they would have systematically fit Idris' win into the film. Meanwhile, the racing film is based on Hayes, who returns to racing 30 years after quitting the sport due to an accident. The challenge faced by the veteran is when he gets to compete with the hotshot rookie. The official synopsis further adds, "Sonny soon learns that the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone." F1 is running successfully in theaters.
