Tottenham close to agreement with Brentford over Thomas Frank appointment
After positive initial talks over the weekend, confidence started to grow on Monday that Frank would be the man to replace Postecoglou and Tottenham made an official approach to their Premier League rivals later in the day.

Discussions continued into Tuesday and centred on Frank's contract at Brentford, which runs until the summer of 2027 and contains a release clause reported to be in the region of £10million.
Talks are set to enter Wednesday, but an agreement between Spurs and Brentford over a compensation package to appoint Frank is close, PA understands.
Further progress is required over Frank's backroom staff and how many will follow the Danish coach to Tottenham.
The 51-year-old would take over a Spurs side which won the Europa League last month but finished 17th in the Premier League.
One of the first decisions he would be faced with if appointed concerns the future of Tottenham captain Son Heung-min.
Son had a 12-month option in his current contract triggered in January.
'I still have one more year left on the contract,' Son said on Tuesday, as reported by Korean agency Yonhap.
'Rather than saying anything at this moment, I think we should all wait and see what happens.'

Napoli are reportedly targeting Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez for a summer move. The Reds broke their transfer record to sign Nunez from Benfica for £85million in 2022 but he is ready to leave Anfield after a lack of starting opportunities under Arne Slot. Saudi side Al-Nassr previously made enquiries to sign the Uruguay international in January and were prepared to offer £70m but Liverpool were unwilling to listen at that stage as their focus was on winning the league title. The Italian champions are now pushing for his signature as they look to become less reliant on Romelu Lukaku, and have made contact with the striker, according to Football Italia. Former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is looking to strenghthen his Napoli side as they look to retain the league next season and compete in the latter stages of the Champions League. The Naples outfit have also reportedly identified Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund or Udinese forward Lorenzo Lucca as alternatives. Hojlund's contract also does not expire until June 2028 with an option for a further year but his Old Trafford appears uncertain. The Dane cost United £64m plus a further £8m in potential add-ons when he made the move from Atalanta in August 2023. However, he has struggled to live up to that price-tag, managing just four goals in 32 Premier League games last season. Speaking after Denmark's 2-1 friendly victory over Northern Ireland on Saturday night, he told TV 2 Sport: 'I have a contract [until 2028], so I expect to play for Manchester United. 'I'm looking forward to going on a summer vacation, and then I'm fully dedicated to the project that's underway. 'I know I can't get much out of reading things. I know what the facts are, and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United. 'I expect to play there, so I'm just getting ready for some summer vacation and then hopefully a good pre-season.' Ruben Amorim's side are in the market for a new striker and will listen to suitable offers for Hojlund. Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is also being hunted by Napoli. The 25-year-old joined Chelsea's academy in 2007 and made his international debut on Tuesday night as England fell to a 3-1 defeat to Senegal. Chelsea slapped a £40million price tag on Chalobah in January, having valued him at £25m last summer. Rasmus Hojlund 'shaking in his pants' as Man Utd striker dealt fresh blow
Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has found things tough at club and international level over the last 12 months and he has been handed a painful wake-up call As if his dismal Manchester United season wasn't bad enough, Rasmus Hojlund has seen his stock fall at international level. The Danish international has eight goals for his country, but only one of those has arrived since the end of 2023, and there's now a feeling he's no longer an automatic starter. Hojlund scored just five Premier League goals at club level last season, though his Europa League exploits allowed him to reach double figures in all competitions. He started the first game in Denmark's friendly double-header, drawing a blank against Northern Ireland, and dropped to the bench for the meeting with Lithuania on Tuesday. One man who has found goals much easier to come by at club level is compatriot Mika Biereth. The former Arsenal youngster hit the ground running for Monaco after joining in January, and made his senior international bow against Portugal in March. It was Biereth, not Hojlund, who partnered Kasper Dolberg up front in the Lithuania friendly. The 22-year-old wasted little time finding the net for the first time at senior international level, scoring the first of five Danish goals, and came in for praise post-match as compatriot Hojlund got a reminder of the challenge ahead. "Rasmus Hojlund must be shaking his pants by now. He has been overtaken," Danish outlet Bold's player ratings read, describing Bieret as "constantly poisonous near the goal" after he also drew the last-man foul which saw Lithuania's Edgaras Utkus sent off before half-time. Hojlund has been linked with a summer move away from Old Trafford, with reports of interest from Serie A. Champions League finalists Inter Milan are among those linked, but the striker has showed no signs he's looking to move on. Major Premier League TV change with broadcasting giant to lose all coverage next season
ALL Premier League matches outside of the 3pm blackout will be shown on UK television starting from next season. Previously, domestic fans were often left frustrated by not being able to watch certain games. 3 In particular, several Sunday 2pm kick-offs involving teams that had played in Europe on Thursday night would not be shown. Under the new four-year TV deal, which kicks in at the start of next season, this will not be the case. The £6.7bn agreement will see Sky Sports show 215 live matches per season, more than ever before. Sky purchased four of the five packages made available. This will see them broadcast matches during the Friday night, Saturday 5:30pm, Sunday and Monday night slots. In addition to this, Sky Sports will show all 10 final day matches for the first time. TNT Sports, meanwhile, purchased one package - enabling them to show 52 matches. These will primarily come in the Saturday 12:30pm slot, although TNT will also have the rights to two full mid-week rounds of games.
