Bruno Fernandes wanted in Saudi transfer AGAIN as Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr ‘line up shock move'

BRUNO FERNANDES has once again been linked with a sensational move to the Saudi Pro League - a month after turning it down.
But this time a close reunion with his Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is on the cards.

The Manchester United maestro was the subject of a stunning £200million proposal from Al-Hilal earlier this summer.
Fernandes, 30, ultimately turned down the mega offer, with the midfielder keen to stay in the Premier League.
But, according to Portuguese publication A Bola, Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are now considering tabling a bid for Fernandes.
Ronaldo, 41, himself recently signed a record-breaking £492million extension, after flirting with an exit this summer.
But despite reports, it seems unlikely that captain Fernandes would U-turn on his decision to stay at Old Trafford.
Announcing his decision to stay in Manchester in June, Fernandes said in a statement: 'It would have been an easy move.
"I had Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo there (at Al-Hilal), two people I have a great friendship with.

"But I want to stay at the highest level, play in big competitions, because I still feel capable.
"There was an opportunity. The president called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They were waiting for me.
Bruno Fernandes matches Cristiano Ronaldo record as he wins Man Utd award - but admits he DOESN'T want it
"I spoke to Ruben Amorim and he asked me not to go. Manchester United didn't want to sell me. They don't need the money.
"If I had wanted to leave, they would have made it happen."
Not that he needed to, but Fernandes again showed his worth while scoring United's two first goals of pre-season against West Ham.
Amorim needs him next season if the club are in with a chance of over-turning their dismal year last season, when they finished 15th in the Prem and lost the Europa League final to Spurs.
United have so far strengthened this summer with Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha joining for £133million combined.
United are reportedly working on a deal to battle Newcastle for RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko.
Toon tabled their first Sesko bid on Saturday.

Man Utd prepared to take HUGE hit on Rasmus Hojlund in desperate bid to offload flop and sign Benjamin Sesko

MANCHESTER UNITED are prepared to sell Rasmus Hojlund in a cut-price deal - although the Dane wants to stay at Old Trafford. In the clearest sign that the United hierarchy are clearing the decks to bring in prime target Benjamin Sesko, Ruben Amorim is ready to let Hojlund go if a deal can be made. 5 5 United will accept just £30m for the 22-year-old Hojlund, less than half the price they paid Atalanta to land him two years ago. With three years left on his current contract, Hojlund still has an accounting 'amortisation' cost of £38.4m. That means a £30m fee would represent a PSR 'loss' of £8.4m, although United would get his annual £4.4m salary off their wage-bill. Amorim is not desperate to lose the Danish striker and any sale would be contingent on United getting in an upgrade. Leipzig striker Sesko is the preferred candidate, although United are locked in a battle with Newcastle to land the Slovenian. The Bundesliga club are playing hard to get in a bid to get at least £70m up front for Sesko, 22. Sesko missed Saturday's friendly defeat to Atalanta after Newcastle made their opening £65.5m bid, with a further £4.4m in add-ons, which was rejected. United are also pressing to land the striker and Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schafer said: 'In Benji's case, several clubs have shown concrete interest. 5 5 'Based on the overall situation, we decided he would not play. 'But, I would like to emphasize this clearly, that does not mean that he will not play next week either." Leipzig are determined to get the maximum price for the striker, even briefing they may not sell him at all and can raise money through the disposal of £61m Chelsea target Xavi Simons - also left out against the Italians - and Belgian striker Lois Openda, who is wanted by Sunderland. Hojlund may be disappointed to learn United are willing to cast him aside after making plain his wish to stay following the Premier League Summer Series win over Bournemouth on Wednesday. The Dane said: 'My plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens.'

Man Utd slash star's value in half in hope of sale amid Benjamin Sesko plan

Manchester United's transfer business is not yet done and the Red Devils are happy to take a loss on Rasmus Hojlund this summer as they target a new striker for Ruben Amorim Manchester United have opened the door to selling Rasmus Hojlund this summer and have set an asking price of £30million for their striker. United are pursuing a new forward, with RB Leipzig's £70m-rated Benjamin Sesko their top target, although they face competition from Newcastle for his signature. ‌ Hojlund scored the opening goal in United's 4-1 win over Bournemouth in Chicago on Wednesday and said afterwards he is determined to stay and fight for his place next season. But if United are successful in signing Sesko or another forward, Hojlund, 22, will struggle for game time next season, particularly because Ruben Amorim's side are not in Europe next season. ‌ Hojlund could go the other way to Leipzig, as part of a player-plus-cash swap deal with Sesko, but the Denmark international is understood to not want to go to the Bundesliga club. Last season Hojlund, who joined United from Atalanta for £72m in 2023, scored 10 goals in all competitions and just four in the Premier League, underlining the need for a more prolific striker to lead their attack. ‌ United have already seen Newcastle have a bid turned down for target Sesko. The Magpies offered £65.5m and more than £4m of add-ons but the Bundesliga side will hope competition from Old Trafford can drive up the Slovenia star's value. Sesko, who scored 13 times last season, was left out of RB Leipzig's matchday squad for their friendly against Serie A side Atalanta on Saturday. The forward is under contract until 2029. United have already held talks with both player and club, and despite significant spending on the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this summer, the club can make the signing of a forward without first selling players. But Hojlund's future could become difficult if more competition arrivs. Asked if he had received any assurances from the club about his position earlier this week, Hojlund said: 'Nothing so far. 'I think the most important thing for me is just to keep working hard and stay focused and then obviously we'll see what happens. I think my plan is very clear and that's for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens. Competition is fine with me, it sharpens me. I'm more than ready. I'm feeling sharp, so I'm welcoming everything that comes. I think it's good with competition and it only sharpens the team. ‌ 'I'm still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I'm only 22. Obviously, not every striker is scoring 100 goals at the age of 22. But I've learned a lot, I think you can see in my game. 'I'm starting to develop and become even better at the basics. Now it's just about for me to sharpen myself and I've done very well in the pre-season, so far. Just focusing on continuing that.' Graham Potter delivers update on Lucas Paqueta's West Ham future - after the Brazilian's two-year spot-fixing nightmare finally came to an end

Graham Potter has discussed Lucas Paqueta's future at West Ham after the midfielder was cleared of spot-fixing charges by the FA following a two-year investigation. Mail Sport broke the story of the FA's probe back in August 2023 when it was suspected Paqueta had been purposefully picking up yellow cards in order to influence betting markets. The 27-year-old was accused of deliberately getting booked in four Premier League games, against Leicester in 2022, and Leeds United, Aston Villa, and Bournemouth the following year. Paqueta reportedly could have faced a lifetime ban from football if he was found guilty. However, on Thursday the 27-year-old was cleared of the spot-fixing charges and he later took to social media to share a defiant post thanking West Ham fans for their support. In the wake of the decision, some reports linked Paqueta with a £30million return to his homeland - with boyhood club Flamengo said to be interested. The 27-year-old had been linked with a return to his native Brazil but Potter suggested the verdict means he is more likely to stay Hammers boss Potter meanwhile is confident the midfielder will remain in East London this summer. 'You never know for sure because anything can happen in the window with anybody,' said Potter. 'But the news is incredibly positive. If it had gone the other way, there would have been a whole other line of questions. 'Lucas is happy and committed. He is an important person in dressing room and at the club and we love him. We just want to help him enjoy his football. 'You can imagine on a personal level for him, having to fight those allegations was an incredible challenge for him. It has been a really tough period in his life and career. 'It is a credit to him and his family and everyone who has supported him that he has come through.' Paqueta had been linked with an £80m move to Manchester City after he capped off his debut season in England by setting up Jarrod Bowen's winning goal in the 2023 Conference League final. The move collapsed shortly after however, when West Ham informed Pep Guardiola's side that he was being investigated due to suspicious betting patterns.
