Mets announce lineup for Tuesday's game vs Los Angeles Dodgers
LOS ANGELES — The Mets are one win away from locking up a season series win over the Dodgers.
The first chance to wrap it up comes at 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium after the Mets fought back in the 10th inning to claim a 4-3 victory on Monday night.

Against the Dodgers' Tanner Scott, Francisco Alvarez supplied the go-ahead RBI double and Francisco Lindor chipped in a crucial RBI single in extra innings. The victory, which gave the Mets the best record in the National League at 38-22, did come at a cost, with Mark Vientos sustaining a right hamstring strain in the 10th inning.
Ronny Mauricio has joined the team in Los Angeles for his first major league action since 2023, while Vientos was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday.
As the Mets look to claim their fourth win in five tries against the Dodgers — and extend their win streak to five games — Tylor Megill will get the start for the Mets. In 11 starts this season, Megill is 4-4 with a 3.56 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 53⅔ innings. Last time out, Megill allowed two earned runs in 5⅔ innings with six strikeouts to claim the win over the White Sox.
Clayton Kershaw will be making his fourth start of the season for the Dodgers after allowing one earned run in five innings with three strikeouts in his most recent start against the Guardians. Kershaw faced the Mets on May 23 at Citi Field but saw his outing cut short after two scoreless innings due to a lengthy rain delay.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have shown this season they are ruthless when it comes to doing what is best for the organization. His average currently sits at .226, but he's struggling to be consistently produce for the Dodgers. Even though his bat is a step above what it was at the beginning of the season, his defense is still lackluster. "He's had to go through some adversities, and it certainly hasn't been linear for him, whether it be the defense or the droughts offensively and kind of hearing noise from the outside," Roberts told reporters. "But he's built a nice hard shell in the sense of, just really trying to put his head down and keep the blinders on and trying to focus on whatever situation is at hand at the moment." As much as putting your head down and focusing on the moment is good for Muncy, the Dodgers can't continue to trot him out to third base every day and just wait for him to improve. There's a reason Los Angeles is reportedly keeping an eye on Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon. The Dodgers know an upgrade is necessary to push for back-to-back World Series titles. Time is ticking for Muncy to turn it around, and it seems as if the end of July is his deadline as well as the trade deadline.
