Exhibition of behind-the-scenes photographs of Blondie to open
The free exhibition is being held at the City Of London Corporation's Barbican Music Library, with 50 prints on display of the band in concert, backstage, in the recording studio, and during photo sessions.
Blondie, who enjoyed success with singles such as Heart Of Glass, Call Me and The Tide Is High, began their career in 1974 performing at New York's CBGB club alongside the likes of The Ramones, Television and Talking Heads, the band disbanded in 1982 but reformed in the late 1990s.
They are due to release a new album next year.
Photographer Martyn Goddard said: 'When I boarded the plane in May 1978 to photograph Blondie's lead singer, Debbie Harry, in New York, I could not have conceived that there would still be a demand for my images over 45 years later.
'Those assignments produced a body of work that resulted in magazine cover stories, album and single covers, tour programmes, posters, a book, and two photo exhibitions.
'Blondie in Camera 1978 at Barbican Music Library is my visual record of those images and memorabilia collected during a seminal time in the band's history, and I hope that visitors to the exhibition will enjoy being reminded of the band's energy, rawness, and style.'
Chairman of the City of London Corporation's Culture, Heritage, and Libraries Committee, Brendan Barns, said: 'As pioneers of the New Wave genre, the band produced so many memorable hits, and this new exhibition will certainly bring back many vivid memories of one of the most electrifying bands of their generation.'
It comes after Blondie's drummer, Clem Burke, died aged 70 in April after a cancer diagnosis.
The exhibition at Barbican Music Library will run from from August 14 to January 5.

Bella Thorne's honest playlist: ‘I wrote an essay about why I admire Lil Wayne for school'
The first song I fell in love with When I was a kid, my mom gave me her iPod, and I fell in love with all her music from the 70s and 80s. I'd sing Call Me by Blondie at the top of my lungs, jumping on the bed. What a great song. The first single I downloaded I was in [Disney sitcom] Shake It Up when I started falling in love with hip-hop. I went on a binge and discovered BedRock by Young Money. I was so obsessed that I ended up writing an essay about why I admire Lil Wayne for school. The song I know every lyric to I became obsessed with 6 Foot 7 Foot by Lil Wayne featuring Cory Gunz because of the music video. The incredible visuals made it easy to memorise the lyrics, even though he's an incredibly fast rapper. The song I do at karaoke I don't hate a lot of things in life, but I hate karaoke. The only time I did it, I did Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea, even though it was the middle of summer. The song I can no longer listen to Any of my exes' music! The best song to play at a party I'm going to go with Bops by Coi Leray: 'I got bops, yeah, yeah.' It's just so good. She's got bops. What else does she need to say? The song I secretly like I've never been much for pop in general, even though there's some really great artists. My best friend really got me into Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl by Olivia Rodrigo. The best song to have sex to Pony by Ginuwine. The song that changed my life Yesterday by Atmosphere with Ant and Slug: 'I thought I saw you yesterday / But I know it wasn't you 'cos you passed away, Dad.' My father died when I was 10, so every time I hear that line, it's kind of beautiful. The song that makes me cry You can feel both the indifference and the pain in XXXTentacion's voice when he sings Changes. The song I'd play at my funeral I'm too superstitious for that one! The song that gets me up in the morning 10 Times by Stunna Girl. Why? Well, when you add it to your playlist, you'll see what I mean! Thorne's new film, Saint Clare, is available on UK streaming platforms now.

This L.A. deli is one of America's top 10 sandwich shops, says Yelp
Sandwiches are a natural summer food: prepared cold, picnic- and beach-ready and not requiring any silverware to devour. It's easy enough to throw together something at home, but a deli-made sandwich elevates the practice and lets you deliciously support a local business—we're talking muffalettas, po'boys, cheesesteaks and more. And according to a new Yelp ranking, Los Angeles is home to some of the best sammies in the whole country. In fact, with 14 stunning sandwiches, California as a whole had more than any other entries on Yelp's list of top 100 sandwich shops in the U.S., which relies on reviews from customers to highlight the spots whose bread and fillings made hearts soar. (Second-place state Texas came close with 11.) And one of L.A.'s own snagged a coveted spot in the sandwich top ten. Coming in at number five is Huntington Park showstopper WoodsDeli. Owner Robert Valdez opened it three years ago and, at the time, it was the only deli within four miles that served 'clean and full of flavor' food, he told Yelp. In this food desert, Valdez serves specialty sandwiches like the Saucy Turkey Pretzel (turkey, avocado and house-made chipotle sauce on a locally made soft pretzel bun) and the Italian Stallion (four kinds of meat, spicy pickled onion and a red bell pepper sauce). On the deli's website, Valdez mentions being inspired by Dagwood Bumstead, the sandwich-loving character in the cartoon Blondie —the word 'woods' in the deli's name pays homage to him. Considering it part of the restaurant's mission, Valdez organizes giveaways of food and clothing and works with youth programs to get jobs for teens. For August's National Night Out, he provides free sandwiches. Plus, a scholarship is in the works for high school athletes. Another thing on the horizon? Merch! Elsewhere on the list, the top spot belongs to Franky's Deli Warehouse in Hialeah, Florida with made-to-order deli sandwiches and warm greeting upon entry. Continuing the California bonafides is runner-up Sierra Subs and Salads in Three Rivers, California—in this bright yellow structure on the edge of the Kaweah River, patrons can enjoy muffalettas, manwiches, a 'wasabi stinger' (grilled chicken with wasabi-sesame mayo), quesadillas and a huge selection of vegetarian sandwiches. And another Cali-based spot rounded things out: Super Subs, a downtown Banning spot serving meatball subs, Chicago hot dogs, spicy Asian chicken sandwiches and more. Here are the top 10 sandwich shops in the U.S., per Yelp: 1. Franky's Deli Warehouse in Hialeah, Florida 2. Sierra Subs and Salads, Three Rivers, California 3. Tony's Beechhurst Deli, Whitestone, New York 4. Tony's Italian Delicatessen, Montgomery, Texas 5. WoodsDeli, Huntington Park, California 6. Chicago Paulies, Tampa, Florida 7. Hugs Cafe, McKinney, Texas 8. Blues City Deli, St. Louis, Missouri 9. Gino's Deli Stop N Buy, San Antonio, Texas 10. Super Subs, Banning, California
