Three-day Yoga Maha Kumbh begins in Delhi

New Delhi, Jun 18 (PTI) Ahead of the International Day of Yoga, a three-day Yoga Maha Kumbh began here on Wednesday. The event will feature yoga demonstrations, wellness sessions and cultural performances, the Ayush ministry said in a statement.
Another Yoga Maha Kumbh began in Ladakh on June 15.
The International Festival of Yoga and Meditation (IFYM) 2025 in Ladakh has already captivated global and national attention by bringing yoga to locations such as Pangong Lake (13,000+ ft), Nubra Valley, Sindhu Ghat, and the MIMC Devachan Campus, the statement said.
The event has been jointly organised by the Ministry of Ayush, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, Ladakh administration, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, and allied institutions.
Another Yoga Maha Kumbh started on June 15 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The event brought together youths and families for 'Harit' yoga sessions, essay and debate competitions, and interactive engagements at Ved Van Park, Sector 78, the statement said. PTI PLB DIV DIV

Bengaluru: Sakra World Hospital crosses 550 robotic cardiac surgeries
Bengaluru, Aug 18 (PTI) Sakra World Hospital on Monday announced that it has become the first hospital in Karnataka to perform more than 550 robotic cardiac surgeries, and the fastest centre globally to achieve the milestone, according to official Da Vinci surgical system data. The feat was achieved in under three years, with a year-on-year growth of about 40 per cent, the hospital said. 'Robotic cardiac surgery is transforming the treatment of heart disease. While conventional open-heart surgery typically requires 8–10 days of hospitalisation and two–three months for full recovery, patients undergoing robotic procedures at Sakra are often discharged within three–four days, with most resuming normal life in just two–three weeks," the hospital said in a statement. The benefits—including minimal pain, negligible blood loss, faster mobilisation, reduced antibiotic use, and smaller incisions—have made this advanced approach the preferred choice for patients from across India and abroad," it added. Over the past three years, Sakra said it has developed one of the country's most sought-after robotic cardiac surgery programmes. The programme has treated patients aged between 15 and 84 years, delivering 'safe, precise and life-changing outcomes," the statement further said. Over 100 workers of film unit hospitalised for food poisoning in Leh

Around 600 people had meals at the location. 'The food samples were picked up for detailed analysis,' the official said. A doctor at the hospital said it is a clear case of food poisoning. 'After receiving the information, we mobilised all our staff from all the departments and managed the situation effectively,' the doctor said, adding that police were called in to help manage the panic-like situation in the overcrowded emergency ward.
