Changes made to upcoming Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra performance
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A performer's cancellation will cause the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra concert on Saturday, April 26, to undergo changes.
Executive Director Alicia Deges said the original performer, Valeriy Sokolov, had to cancel at the last minute, so they decided to bring in a new performer, violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn.

Pitcairn will perform on her legendary Red Violin of film and folklore as part of a bravado overture, violin concerto, and symphonic dances. Deges said this is a concert you won't want to miss.
'She's the owner of the famous red violin. She plays the violin that's known as the red Mendelssohn Stradivarius that was made by Stradivarius in 1720, and so we're really excited to be able to have her come to perform the Mendelssohn violin concerto,' Deges said.
The concert will be held on April 26 at First Baptist Church. A pre-concert talk will begin at 6:45 p.m., and the concert will start at 7:30 p.m.
