'80s movie star who worked with Tom Cruise looks unrecognizable on rare outing... can you guess who it is?

This actor rose to prominence in the 1980s, and worked with Tom Cruise and Quentin Tarantino. He was also famously fired from an iconic film.
On Monday, the star, now 63, looked unrecognizable while enjoying a rare outing in Manhattan's West Village neighborhood.
The California native — who once dated Jackie Brown star Bridget Fonda — sported a cartoon T-shirt paired with blue jeans and sneakers.
He wore a faded hat over his grown-out silver hair and carried a backpack. He also sported a pair of sunglasses.
This film star, who also famously played a drug dealer in a Quentin Tarantino movie, was previously nominated for a Golden Globe.
Can you guess who it is?
That's right, it's Eric Stoltz!
Stoltz was famously hired to play Marty McFly in the 1985 film Back to the Future.
After more than a month of filming, he was fired and replaced with Michael J. Fox.
Director Robert Zemeckis had determined that his serious method acting style didn't match the film's comedic tone.
The film transformed Fox into one of the biggest stars of the Eighties.
'He's a magnificent actor, but his comedy sensibilities were very different from what I had written with Bob Gale,' Zemeckis said of Stoltz.
'And he and I were just never able to make that work.'
Zemeckis said he showed Steven Spielberg the first five weeks of footage and told him they weren't 'getting the laughs I was hoping we would get.'
Said Spielberg: 'He was absolutely correct so I had to make this horrific decision which was heartbreaking for everybody.'

While Fox enjoyed a soaring career after Back to the Future, before revealing his Parkinson's diagnosis in 1998, Stoltz carved out a varied career with a series of supporting roles; (L) Stoltz pictured in 2024, (R) Fox seen in 2019

While Michael went on to become a hugely popular star, Stoltz had to settle with a career full of bit parts.
But he did enjoy some success with 1985 drama Mask, for which he nabbed a Golden Globe nomination, the same year that back to the Future became one of the highest grossing blockbusters of all time.
He also starred as Keith Nelson in Some Kind of Wonderful (1987).
In 1994, he played a drug dealer named Lance in Tarantino's iconic film, Pulp Fiction.
He also appeared as Ethan Valhere in the 1996 hit film Jerry Maguire, which starred Tom Cruise.
He has since had small roles in The Butterfly Effect and hit TV show Grey's Anatomy where he played a serial killer.
Though he is now married to Bernadette Moley, Stoltz once dated daughter of actor Peter Fonda, Bridget.
She was a prominent figure in Hollywood during the late 1980s and 1990s, starring in films like The Godfather Part III, Single White Female, and Jackie Brown.
The two met in 1986, and started dating in 1990.
In 1997 they attended the premiere of Jackie Brown together at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City.
Their relationship ended in 1998.
Eric went on to marry Bernadette in 2005.

Urgent nationwide warning for ground beef contaminated with deadly bacteria linked to colon cancer

Health officials have issued an urgent warning over ground beef sold at Whole Foods that may be contaminated with E. coli. The US Department of Agriculture issued a public health alert Tuesday for one-pound, vacuum packaged packages of Organic Rancher Beef from Vermont-based NPC Processing Inc. The contaminated packages were produced on May 22 and 23 and have use-by dates of June 19 and 20. The US Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) did not request a formal recall because the products are no longer available for purchase. However, they may still be in consumers' refrigerators or freezers. The meat was produced in Australia or Uruguay and processed in the US. It was then sent to distributors in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois and Maryland and then to Whole Foods stores nationwide. The problem was discovered when company officials notified FSIS that they had shipped beef products that tested positive for E. coli O157:H7, a type of bacteria that can cause blood diarrhea, stomach cramps and vomiting. It's the same strain of E. coli linked to the McDonald's Quarter Pounder outbreak last year. E. coli may also be a culprit behind the rise of colorectal cancer in young people, as it leads to DNA mutations in the digestive tract that raise the risk of tumors forming. To date, no illnesses linked to the product have been reported, officials said. Consumers who have the product should throw it away or return it to the store. E. coli bacteria can cause infections with symptoms that include dehydration, diarrhea and cramps. Most people recover within a week, but some people can become severely ill and develop a dangerous kidney condition. Children under age 5 and older adults are most at risk.

Nutella launches new flavour for the first time in 60 YEARS

NUTELLA is launching a brand new flavour for the first time in 60 years. Ferrero, which makes the spread, has revealed the new Peanut flavour will land on shelves from spring next year. However, there is a catch - it will only be available in the USA. The Sun has asked Ferrero if there are plans to bring the new Peanut Nutella spread to the UK and we will update this story when we've heard back. News of the never-before-seen flavour, combining Nutella cocoa hazelnut spread with the taste of roasted peanuts, was unveiled in a recent Ferrero press statement. Michael Lindsey, president and chief business officer of Ferrero North America, said: "Developing Nutella and Ferrero Rocher products specifically for the North American market represents a defining moment in our company's history. "These innovations will engage both loyal fans and new consumers, boosting our power brands and further solidifying our position as a category leader in North America." The launch of the new flavour is the first since 1964, beyond vegan Nutella alternatives. Plant-Based Nutella launched in the UK last month, with shoppers able to buy a 350g jar for £4 from Sainsbury's. It will be rolled out across other major UK supermarkets from next year. The plant-based Nutella version combines the signature roasted hazelnut and cocoa flavours with chickpeas and rice syrup. Mathieu Maggi, marketing director Nutella UK&I, Ferrero, said: "For over 60 years, millions of people around the world have been enjoying the unique taste of Nutella, and we are excited to welcome even more consumers to the brand with the launch of Nutella Plant-Based. 'Father of Nutella' dies on Valentine's Day aged 97 after helping to create world-famous hazelnut spread 'We developed this innovation to provide a delicious new choice that delivers the unmistakable Nutella experience in a plant-based version, replacing milk with vegetal ingredients without compromising on quality and taste." Upon the launch of the new vegan spread, Ferrero cited recent research suggesting 4.7% of UK adults - around 2.5million people - now follow a vegan diet. The research it cited found a further 5.8% identify as vegetarian and 13% have a flexitarian diet. Vanessa Brown, head of trademarks at the Vegetarian Society, said: 'We welcome Ferrero's efforts to meet the needs and expectations of the millions of consumers following plant-based and vegan diets." NEW CHOCOLATE PRODUCTS It comes as Cadbury is launching a new Dairy Milk flavour bar in the UK this month - Dairy Milk Iced Latte. The new bar combines classic Dairy Milk chocolate with a creamy coffee filling and crunchy biscuit pieces. Four limited edition bars have also been introduced, with packaging that changes based on the temperature. The chocolate maker also recently teased the launch of a new Cadbury White Dipped Twirl bar. Details on the new limited edition flavour are thin, although some smaller online retailers are selling it from 99p. Lidl shoppers have been going wild for a new Dubai-style pistachio spread landing on shelves. The Della Sante chocolate cream spread combines the flavours of the insanely popular chocolate but in spreadable form. The pots cost £4.99 or £3.99 for Lidl Plus members. How to save money on chocolate We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar. Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs... Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars. Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere. Websites like let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal. Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced. They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged. Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar. So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger. .
