How to watch 2025 NBA Draft Lottery live for free: Time, streaming, odds
The NBA playoffs are in full swing, and with a new season on the horizon, the draft process begins tonight with the Draft Lottery.
The Draft Lottery will determine the order of selection for the first 14 picks in the upcoming draft. The 14 non-playoff teams are eligible for selection tonight. The lottery in particular will determine the first four picks in the NBA Draft, and the three lowest-finishing teams in the league all have a 14% chance at winning the first pick.
From there, the rest of the first 14 picks will be determined in inverse order of the lottery teams' regular-season records.
How does it work?
The drawing uses 14 ping-pong balls, numbered 1 through 14. There are 1,001 possible combinations when four balls are drawn out of 14, without regard to their order of selection. Before the lottery, 1,000 of those 1,001 combinations will be assigned to the 14 participating lottery teams. There's a meticulous timed process that ends with the top four picks being determined.
The team to land the first overall pick will likely end up drafting Duke University's Cooper Flagg.
What time is the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery?
The 2025 NBA Draft Lottery begins at 7 p.m. ET tonight, May 12. The draft lottery will air live from McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.

Jake Paul to face lightweight boxing champion Gervonta Davis on Nov. 14
Jake Paul will face Gervonta "Tank" Davis in a boxing match on Nov. 14 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Netflix announced Wednesday. The bout is expected to be the biggest test to date for Paul, a social media star with 28 million followers on Instagram and 21 million followers on YouTube. Paul (12-1) became a professional boxer in January 2020 and has impressed despite limited experience in the ring. He has faced criticism for his competition, however. Most of his opponents have been nonboxers — a former NBA Slam Dunk champion in Nate Robinson, and MMA fighters like Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren and Mike Perry. He beat a 59-year-old Mike Tyson, and his lone loss came to boxer Tommy Fury, the half-brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Paul, 28, is coming off a unanimous decision against former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June. Davis is without question Paul's most heralded opponent. The 30-year-old WBA lightweight champion is one of the sport's top talents, amassing a 30-0-1 record. Though he stands just 5-foot-5, Davis is known for his vicious punching power and has 28 knockouts in his career. He most recently retained his belt with a majority decision draw against Lamond Roach Jr. in March. Davis' boxing career was in jeopardy after he was arrested on July 11 in an alleged domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend. According to the Miami-Dade County Clerk's Office, a misdemeanor battery charge against Davis was dropped. Paul vs. Davis is the latest boxing match promoted by Netflix as it gets more involved in live sports. Paul's bout with Tyson last November, for example, peaked at 65 million streams, according to the streaming service. Netflix is also promoting Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez on Sept. 13, and has WWE Raw and multiple NFL games on Christmas Day. Not everyone in the boxing world is happy Paul vs. Davis is happening. Ryan Garcia, a former WBC interim lightweight champion who lost to Davis in 2023, wrote on social media that "boxing is officially the WWE … integrity of the sport is getting ruined every day."

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The WWE era on Peacock is ending sooner than expected. A new report has confirmed that WWE's premium live events will be moving to ESPN's new streaming platform starting next month, months earlier than the originally planned 2026 start date. According to a new report from Bryan Alvarez, WWE will fulfill its contractual quota of events for Peacock with the Clash in Paris show on August 31st. An Accelerated Timeline Alvarez has confirmed that due to an expanded premium live event schedule in 2025, which included the addition of a second night for SummerSlam and the all-women's Evolution event, WWE will have fulfilled its yearly PLE commitment to Peacock by the end of August. This paves the way for the new, lucrative partnership with ESPN to begin immediately after. This means that the upcoming, as-yet-unannounced premium live event on Saturday, September 20th, will be the first-ever main roster WWE PLE to air on ESPN's new platform. A new home. A new PLE. A new era. An historic partnership, a major step towards the future!!!@WWE Wrestlepalooza from Indianapolis on September 20 will air LIVE on @espn. — Triple H (@TripleH) August 20, 2025 A History Of WWE Streaming This is the third major evolution of WWE's streaming strategy in the United States. The new five-year, $1.6 billion deal with ESPN will see all WWE PLEs move to the "Worldwide Leader in Sports," a move designed to further integrate WWE into the mainstream sports conversation. What It Means For The Fans The new ESPN direct-to-consumer service is set to launch this week at a price of $29.99 per month. However, it has been reported that existing cable and satellite subscribers who already receive ESPN will likely be able to access the new WWE content at no additional cost through authentication. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match One major question that remains is the future of WWE's vast historical archive, which is currently housed on Peacock. It is not yet known where that library of content will be hosted once the Peacock deal officially concludes. WWE is kicking off its new ESPN era with a stacked card. The September 20th event, reportedly titled "WrestlePalooza," is rumored to be headlined by two blockbuster matches: John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre. John Mateer included on ESPN's top 100, several Sooners snubbed
The Oklahoma Sooners have one of the more talented rosters in college football. Shocking to hear considering they're coming off a 6-7 season a year ago, but that's the reality. The Sooners were among CBS Sports teams with a high enough blue-chip ratio to be considered among teams that could win the national championship. There's talent on both sides of the ball. On offense, it starts with John Mateer, who came in at No. 16 in ESPN's top 100 player rankings for the 2025 season. Among quarterbacks, he only ranks behind Clemson's Cade Klubnik and LSU's Garrett Nussmeier. Surprisingly, ESPN had him seven spots ahead of Texas' Arch Manning. That speaks to the respect Mateer is garnering nationally after a 44-total touchdown season, which led the FBS. He's a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who can make plays on the run and will make life incredibly difficult for opposing defensive coordinators. Mateer is getting a lot of love but was left off the preseason coaches' All-SEC team. Making the team were running back Jaydn Ott, defensive end R Mason Thomas, and longsnapper Ben Anderson. Surprisingly, though, Ott and Thomas were left off the list of ESPN's top 100 players for 2025. Ott is widely considered one of the best running backs in college football despite a subpar 2024, where he played through an ankle injury on an undermanned Cal team. Thomas is coming off a breakout season for the Sooners in 2024. He had nine sacks, 2.5 more than ESPN's No. 10 player, South Carolina's Dylan Stewart. Stewart is an incredible talent and undoubtedly worthy of being included on the list and even in the top 10. But to not even include Thomas? That's a huge oversight. Thomas regularly saw double and triple teams because teams couldn't slow him down, especially at the end of games. Stewart played last year with three guys who were selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, including one of the best defensive ends in college football, Kyle Kennard. As much buzz as Oklahoma's getting this offseason, it's clear they still have a lot to prove in the eyes of many. And with the 2025 season just around the corner, the Sooners will have 12 opportunities to prove just how good they are.
