Ryan Moore enters the fray as Million Challenge comes down to wire
Moore, who has been brought to Hong Kong as injury cover and begins a three-meeting stint in the city at the midweek fixture, will partner Million Challenge leader Soleil Fighter for trainer David Hayes in the Class Three Tsui Man Handicap (1,650m).
Soleil Fighter sits on 50 points at the top of the competition, which awards 15 points for a win, six for second, four for third and three for fourth.
While he could secure the Million Challenge's HK$1 million first prize with victory in Wednesday night's third event, there are three gallopers within striking range and ready to pounce should the five-year-old fail to fire.
While currently sitting in equal second position with I Can on 42 points, Gustosisimo won't race on Wednesday night and connections will be relying on results falling their way if they are to scoop some of the prize money, which sees HK$350,000 awarded to second and HK$150,000 to third.
I Can steps out in the same race as Soleil Fighter and if the Pierre Ng Pang-chi-trained galloper were to salute under Andrea Atzeni, he would move to 57 points and victory would be his regardless of where Soleil Fighter finishes.
The two gallopers racing later on the programme who remain alive in the Million Challenge, Eternal Fortune and Aurora Lady, need Soleil Fighter and I Can to be beaten to remain a chance of victory by the time they step out.
The Danny Shum Chap-shing-trained Eternal Fortune, who will also be ridden by Moore, lines up in the evening's finale, the Class Three King Kwong Handicap (1,000m).
Sitting on 40 points, victory would be enough for Eternal Fortune to scoop top prize provided I Can doesn't win and Soleil Fighter misses the top two.
Aurora Lady is just within striking distance on 36 points but the Ng-trained runner would need Soleil Fighter to miss out on points completely and I Can and Eternal Fortune to fail to salute.

Aurora Lady jumps from barrier five under Atzeni in the Class Three Sing Woo Handicap (1,200m).
Further down the Million Challenge leaderboard, Red Elegance and Brave Star are the two other gallopers racing Wednesday night who could grab some minor prize money if results fall their way.
Held between September and February, the Million Challenge is open to horses in Class Three and above.
Hayes and Shum are chasing back-to-back victories in the competition after Tomodachi Kokoroe and Copartner Ambition shared top honours on 51 points 12 months ago.
'We really want to win it for the owner,' said Hayes.
Meanwhile, the entries for this Sunday's Classic Cup (1,800m) have landed as expected, with My Wish, Packing Hermod, Rubylot, Divano, Johannes Brahms, Stunning Peach, Mickley, Noisy Boy, Cap Ferrat, Californiatotality, Packing Angel, Mondial, Steps Ahead and Sky Trust making up the field.
Sky Heart is the first reserve for the second leg of the prestigious four-year-old series.

Japanese pop idol Kenshin Kamimura has been fined HK$15,000 after he molested a female interpreter in Hong Kong. During the trial, Kamimura's defence told West Kowloon Court that the claims were exaggerated and that the alleged invitation to the bathroom may have been innocent, the AP reported. The maximum penalty for indecent assault is 10 years in prison, though Kamimura avoided a jail term after his lawyers argued that he had a promising future and had already paid a heavy price. Kamimura's contract with ONE N' ONLY was terminated in March.

12 arrested in Hong Kong-Shenzhen joint operation targeting suspected fake concert tickets
Hong Kong and Shenzhen authorities have arrested a total of 12 people in a joint operation targeting the manufacturing and sale of suspected fake concert tickets. More than 400 high-quality counterfeit or half-finished fake concert tickets were seized by Hong Kong and Shenzhen police in a recent crackdown on a cross-border syndicate, the city's police force said at a press conference on Sunday. Four men, aged between 24 and 39, were apprehended in Shenzhen, including a Hong Kong man who mainly resides in mainland China and is said to be the mastermind of the syndicate. During the raid in Shenzhen, local authorities seized suspected counterfeit tickets for ongoing and upcoming events, printing machines, invisible ink, cutters, envelopes, and other equipment used to produce the suspected fake tickets. In Hong Kong, seven men and one woman, aged 19 to 65, were arrested for offences including conspiracy to defraud, possession of false documents, obtaining money by deception, and money laundering. They were linked to at least 16 cases of fake concert tickets, with total estimated losses exceeding HK$100,000. Local media reported that the tickets included the concert of South Korean pop star Kwon Ji-yong, also known as G-Dragon. Police said last week that his fans were scammed out of more than HK$610,000 worth of fake tickets to his sold-out Hong Kong concerts. Police said the seized tickets were highly convincing, with the font, anti-counterfeit features, and paper quality closely resembling those of genuine tickets. However, there were minor flaws that could be spotted with the naked eye, for example, differences in the wording of the English terms and conditions, as well as variations in the placement of punctuation marks in the Chinese text. In June, eight people were arrested for allegedly selling high-quality counterfeit tickets to concerts by Cantopop star Nicholas Tse, Taiwanese singer Jay Chou, and four other musicians. The eight suspects were part of a cross-border syndicate involved in at least 40 suspected scams, according to local media, with total losses estimated at around HK$650,000.

Photo: RTHK Organisers of the annual Food Expo on Wednesday said they hope to attract half a million visitors, aiming to match last year's attendance. The five-day event, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, will begin on August 14 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. Alongside the expo, four other fairs, including the Home Delights Expo and Beauty and Wellness Expo, will showcase around 1,890 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions. The Hong Kong International Tea Fair will also be fully open to the public for the first time. Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the Trade Development Council, expressed hope that extreme weather won't disrupt the event. "This summer, the weather is very unpredictable, so we don't know what the weather conditions will be," Chong said. "If we're lucky enough to have good weather conditions, I hope we can open up the expo on all five days and achieve a high attendance record like previous years." New this year, the Food Expo will feature a food science and technology zone, with offerings such as soft-textured mooncakes and cognitive health supplements tailored for senior citizens. There will also be a seminar on additive-free foods. More than 120 exhibitors will showcase halal products, including the popular Indonesian noodle brand, Indomie. "Our product is a halal product, so it's also suitable for a lot of people," Indomie representative Kay Tang said. "We now have a new product launched, which is the Korean noodles. In the expo, we hope that we can introduce this product to the market, and later on this product will be available in supermarkets and convenience stores." Food demonstrations by 10 chefs will take place, and vendors will offer exclusive bundles, lucky draws, and HK$1 deals.
