Al-Abdallat: The Royal Vision Strengthened the Advancement of the Health Sector and Human Rights Dr. Khalil Al-Abdallat, Director of the Human Rights Unit at the Prime Ministry, stated that the celebration of World Health Day this year, under the theme "Healthy Beginnings... One Future," emphasizes Jordan's steadfast commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to investing in people by advancing a fair and comprehensive healthcare system for all who live in the Kingdom. اضافة اعلان In an interview with the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Al-Abdallat affirmed that this occasion reflects the strategic attention His Majesty the King has given to improving the health sector in Jordan, considering it one of the pillars of national development and a key foundation for strengthening social stability and human well-being. He added that the King's continuous directives have focused on developing healthcare infrastructure, expanding services, and providing integrated care for all segments of society, including women, children, the elderly, refugees, and residents. He pointed out that Jordan has become a model in the region and the world for providing high-quality healthcare services and exporting medical and administrative expertise to various countries, thanks to its advanced health institutions, qualified human resources, and technological expertise in public health and medical care. Al-Abdallat further added that in line with this royal vision, the Jordanian government continues its efforts through the diligent follow-up of the Prime Minister to update and develop the national health system through comprehensive reform plans. These plans focus on the equitable geographical distribution of services, improving the efficiency of personnel, and intensifying national prevention and early detection programs, with a particular focus on women's and children's health and ensuring a healthy environment for the safe and proper growth of future generations. He emphasized that as part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts, the Jordanian government is working on implementing the national health strategy, which focuses on several key areas, including enhancing service quality, good governance of the sector, developing health information systems, and expanding primary and preventive care services. The strategy also places special attention on activating comprehensive health insurance to ensure broader access to health services for various segments of society. This strategy aligns with the economic modernization vision and administrative modernization vision, both of which consider health as one of the core pillars of national transformation. Al-Abdallat noted that as part of Jordan's health diplomacy, the country has contributed to enhancing regional and international cooperation through strategic partnerships with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and several donor organizations. As a result, Jordan has become a leading platform for exchanging health expertise. Jordan also hosts numerous training programs for doctors and nurses from neighboring countries and operates field health centers in conflict areas, based on the deep belief that human health is not limited to any one country or people but is a collective human responsibility. He highlighted Jordan's pioneering role in providing healthcare to refugees and host communities, stating that Jordan offers comprehensive medical services in cooperation with the UNHCR and many international humanitarian organizations. Al-Abdallat pointed out that international partnerships have played a role in reinforcing this mission. He cited field hospitals set up in conflict-affected areas such as Gaza and the West Bank as examples of Jordan's humanitarian leadership in supporting the most vulnerable communities. He emphasized that this constant commitment to supporting human rights reflects the national culture of solidarity and humanitarian care, which has shaped His Majesty the King's vision for protecting human life and dignity, and consolidating Jordan's position as a supporter of peace and regional stability. Al-Abdallat concluded by reaffirming Jordan's ongoing commitment to developing national health legislation and aligning it with international human rights agreements, particularly the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. This is in addition to achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, with the third goal focused on good health and well-being. He also mentioned that the government, in collaboration with national and international institutions, is working to strengthen human capacity in the health sector through continuous training, improving skills, and providing a safe and motivating professional environment for the workforce, which enhances the quality and efficiency of the services provided.
