Kansas City Chiefs receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown is still looking to prove himself with the defending AFC champs.

After last season, which saw Brown only hit the field in Week 16 thanks to a shoulder injury suffered in preseason, the speedy receiver, when he did return, didn't have the impact he wanted.
Given that he was on a one-year deal, Brown could have been forgiven for thinking he would be on another team in 2025, but the Chiefs came calling.
And the chance to rectify his 2024 season landed at his feet.
'I was grateful for the opportunity,' Brown said. 'For them to even allow me to come back and allow me to help the team, so just build off of that and build off the experience.'

Posting just 141 yards from 14 receptions in five games isn't the return Brown would have wanted, but he didn't have the time to build on-field chemistry with Patrick Mahomes and the rest of his teammates.

He will hopefully get that chance at minicamp and then training camp before hitting the 2025 season ready to put last year's failures behind him.
Of course, that is all up to the football gods, as Brown went through all of the offseason training, only to be struck down in the Chiefs' preseason games.
So, we imagine he will be a little wary this time around. While injuries happen in football, we don't think Brown can afford to be sidelined for a significant period, as he was last season.
If the Chiefs are to avenge their Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Brown will have to play a large role for Andy Reid.

He's got his chance; now he has to make the most of it.

Patriots' $104M DL Milton Williams Could Be Even Better After Breakout Season With Eagles
Patriots' $104M DL Milton Williams Could Be Even Better After Breakout Season With Eagles originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New England Patriots opened the checkbooks for several free agents this offseason, including a big payday for a backup defensive lineman on last season's Super Bowl champions. Advertisement That player is Milton Williams, who played behind Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis with the Philadelphia Eagles. He is now heading into the 2025 season with a new team and a new contract, worth $104 million over four years, assuming a starting role for the Patriots. That is why Analyst Marc Ross expects him to take an even bigger step forward after what Ross described as a "breakout" season in 2024. "Williams was my colleague Gregg Rosenthal's top free agent this offseason, which speaks to Williams' impact given he played fewer than 50 percent of Philadelphia's defensive snaps in each of his four seasons with the team," Ross said. Ross noted the 26-year-old Williams' five sacks last year, with 35 quarterback pressures and a league-leading 12.9 percent pressure rate among defensive tackles, according to Next Gen Stats. Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams (93) celebrates after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LIX at Ceasars J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Two of Williams' three sacks came in the biggest game of his life, Super Bowl LIX. Advertisement However, there is one caveat that Ross wanted to add. "It can be risky paying part-time players big-time money... He will be tasked with turning around a defense that ranked 22nd in yards and points allowed in 2024," Ross said. It helps that New England's defense is not going to look the same as last year. The rising star defensive lineman joins a revamped defensive line, headlined by a healthy Christian Barmore and Harold Landry III. Pairing Carlton Davis III with Christian Gonzalez at cornerback should also be mutually beneficial for the front seven and a secondary that already has Kyle Duggar and Jabrill Peppers. NFL's global competition includes cricket
The NFL wants to become a global force. And the primary competition is soccer. But there's another sport that is more popular than our most popular sport, too. As noted by John Ourand of Puck, the Indian Premier League's final match generated 169 million viewers. That's more than 30 million more than the Super Bowl, and the most-watched cricket event in Indian history. Advertisement India's population exceeds 1.4 billion. That's more than three times the size of the United States. So there's greater saturation of the American market by American football. Still, as strange as it sounds, there are bigger sporting events than the Super Bowl. Ourand raises the question of whether it's time for cricket to make a dent in the American market. But the broader reality for the NFL is that there's plenty of work to do to take a dent out of other sports that currently generate far more interest beyond our borders. If the NFL can pull it off, a billion-dollar business will become a trillion-dollar business.
