LG Egypt Partners with Misr El Kheir Foundation to Launch "Better Home" Initiative
As part of its corporate social responsibility program 'Life's Good', LG Egypt has launched its new initiative in collaboration with Misr El Kheir Foundation titled 'Better Home', aimed at supporting underserved communities and enabling dignified, stable living conditions for Egyptian families.
The initiative officially kicked off in Basat Karim El Din village, located in Sherbin district, Dakahlia Governorate, in direct support of Misr El Kheir's long-standing Marriage Facilitation Program. The program helps empower young couples to start their lives together in safe and stable environments.
As part of the contribution, LG Egypt donated a selection of home appliances, including top-load washing machines and 43' smart televisions, some of the company's latest high-efficiency models designed with advanced technologies to provide reliable, user-friendly experiences for beneficiary families.
This in-kind donation aligns with LG's vision of bringing the 'Life's Good' philosophy to life, delivering both tangible and emotional support to those most in need. The initiative reflects LG's continued efforts to enhance community infrastructure and contribute to long-term sustainable development across Egypt.
Mohamed El-Gadawy, Marketing and Public Relations Director at LG Egypt, commented: 'The launch of 'Better Home' under our Life's Good slogan is a continuation of our commitment to initiatives that empower Egyptian families to build stable, dignified lives. The true meaning of Life's Good is about offering smart, human-centric solutions that create real value inside people's homes.'
From Misr El Kheir's side, Eng. Ahmed Youssef, Senior Director of the Direct Aid Program at Misr El Kheir, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with LG Egypt, stating:
'Our direct aid programs run year-round, reaching deserving families in every governorate, and stem from our belief in the Foundation's vital role in uplifting communities. We value our ongoing partnership with LG Egypt, which has extended across multiple sectors within the Foundation, and we look forward to its continued expansion.'
Youssef emphasized that the initiative aligns closely with Misr El Kheir's overarching mission to develop human capital and uplift human dignity.
LG Egypt reaffirmed that this initiative marks only the beginning of a wider series of community engagement programs under the Life's Good slogan, with upcoming activations expected to expand across additional governorates in the near future — further strengthening the company's contribution to sustainable development in Egypt.

A delegation from Egypt is set to visit China next month following last week's visit of a Chinese investment delegation to Egypt A delegation from the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) is scheduled to visit China next month to promote the industrial opportunities available in the SCZONE, Mustafa Ibrahim, vice chair of the China-Egypt Relations Committee at the Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA), told Al-Ahram Weekly. The visit is part of ongoing efforts to boost Chinese investments in Egypt. Wang Weizhong, governor of Guangdong Province in China, was also in Cairo last week with a delegation representing Chinese government agencies and Chinese companies interested in investing in the Egyptian market. The delegation also included representatives from Chinese companies already operating in Egypt. Some 2,800 Chinese companies currently operate in Egypt, with total investments exceeding $8 billion, according to the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI). Ibrahim expects Chinese investments to reach $12 billion by the end of 2025. The Chinese delegation explored investment opportunities in various sectors, including electric vehicles. The visit aimed to support the Chinese government's Belt and Road Initiative and to study investment opportunities in the Egyptian market. China plans to move many of its factories abroad due to its commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 2026 and to avoid obstacles that could affect its exports to various countries, including members of the European Union, Ibrahim explained. China is also keen on redirecting its labour force towards high value-added industrial sectors such as the technology industry, in which it has outperformed many of its competitors, he added. Chinese companies are interested in investing across several sectors in Egypt, including textiles, ready-made garments, electrical appliances, the automotive industry, and natural gas exploration. Ibrahim said that China has moved into a new era, transitioning from product imitation to innovation, which has made countries like Germany eager to learn about the technologies used in Chinese robots, for example. China is seeking partners with whom it can strengthen its ties, and Egypt stands out with its large market and trade agreements with many other countries that enable access to nearly three billion consumers, Ibrahim said. He noted that over the past year and a half visits from Chinese delegations have taken a new and more serious turn, with provincial governors and leaders from the ruling party heading the delegations. Chinese investors are also planning to invest in new sectors, including tourism and the establishment of hotels and are currently studying investment opportunities in that field. Ibrahim said that cooperation between Egypt and China takes three main forms, with China exporting production inputs and finished products to Egypt, undertaking projects managed by Chinese companies for implementation in Egypt, and injecting direct investments into the Egyptian economy. He stressed the need for consistent laws and a stable economy to attract foreign investors, making the investment climate more appealing. Ahmed Mounir Ezzeddin, chair of the China-Egypt Relations Committee at the Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA), told the Weekly that Egypt's infrastructural development, both in terms of urban expansion and power networks, has opened the door for the establishment of large and medium-sized factories and has encouraged various investments, including those from China. China's only industrial city on the African continent is in Egypt in the shape of the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone on the shores of the Red Sea and south of the Suez Canal. This started on an area of three million square metres and has now expanded to 10 million, reflecting Egypt's importance to Chinese investors. Ezzeddin said that Egypt possesses several factors that attract Chinese investments, such as the new investment law, an improved business environment and a competitive labour force, in addition to competitive electricity and fuel prices. Luxor Governor Receives US Senator Tim Sheehy to Discuss Strengthening Cooperation
Taarek Refaat Abdel Motaleb Amara, Governor of Luxor received Senator Tim Sheehy, a member of the US Congress, as part of his visit to Egypt and the accompanying high-level delegation. The meeting witnessed an open dialogue between the two sides, addressing ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. The Senator began his speech by expressing his happiness at being in Luxor for the second time after 22 years. He expressed his admiration for the positive changes taking place in the city and his amazement at ancient Egyptian civilization, emphasizing that Egypt is a country with a rich civilization dating back thousands of years. Sheehy added that Egypt is an important and ally in the Middle East region, and that it has a promising economic future over the next five years. He expressed his hope for strengthening American partnerships in Egypt and praised the country's ongoing comprehensive development efforts, particularly in infrastructure modernization and the renewable energy sector. On his part, the Governor of Luxor welcomed the US Senator and explained the governorate's economy, which is based on the cultural tourism sector, followed by agriculture and industry. He emphasized that tourist bookings have increased this year compared to last year, and that the booking rate for the upcoming tourist season is very promising and exceeds previous years, despite global events. The governor added that despite the hot June weather approaching, the continued growth of tourism in Luxor has not been affected. He attributed this to the stability and security Egypt enjoys thanks to the wisdom of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who assumed the presidency 10 years ago. He also praised US support for the country. The US Ambassador to Cairo attended the inauguration of the new drinking water station in the village of El-Hanady, east of Esna, south of Luxor. This station will serve approximately 10 villages by 2024. The station was funded by the US Agency for International Development. Hurghada Int'l Airport Celebrates First Flight from Tashkent
Taarek Refaat Hurghada International Airport today received the first flight of Uzbekistan's Centrum Air airline from Tashkent International Airport, carrying 175 tourists. Ayman Salah, Deputy Director of Hurghada International Airport welcomed the passengers with flowers and souvenirs, along with the participation of the public relations and media team, and the traditional water salute. This flight is the first in a series of scheduled flights during the summer season between Uzbekistan and Hurghada, in light of the growing international interest in Egyptian tourist destinations.
