Malavika Mohanan slams male co-stars who pretend to be feminists: ‘They know how to put on a mask'
Actor Malavika Mohanan has spoken up yet again against the deep-rooted misogyny in the film industry. This time around the actor has taken a dig at her male co-actors, who, according to her, are portraying a façade of feminism while showcasing completely opposite qualities behind the screen.
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Malavika said, 'I don't think this disparity has ever ended in the film industry. I also think that men have really gotten smart, and I have seen this in a lot of male actors; suddenly, in the last 5–6 years, they know how to put on the mask of being woke.'
She doubled down on her statements and pointed out that many actors are two-faced. 'They know exactly what lines to say that make them come across like a feminist, as a very forward-thinking person, someone who treats women as equals. And I have seen them go back from the public eye and become the most misogynistic person ever. It's hypocrisy.'
In the same interview, Malavika Mohanan also talked about the South film industry's obsession with the 'navel' and how she has received comments about her weight and looks whenever she would lose or gain weight. 'I used to be very perplexed earlier, too, because I've grown up in Mumbai. It was a completely new phenomenon that navels are obsessed over so much. And then you'd see pictures of actresses on social media, where they zoom into their bodies. Navel obsession is a very real thing,' she said.
On the work front, Malavika has The Raja Saab with Prabhas and Karthi-starrer Sardar 2 in the pipeline.

Malayalam television actress Malavika Wales received a heartwarming and extraordinary birthday surprise that has left fans and social media buzzing. As she celebrated her special day surrounded by the crew of her popular show Meenu's Kitchen, one gift stood out from the rest — a tattoo of her face etched on the chest of her makeup artist and fan, Rajesh. The touching gesture was captured in a video shared by Rajesh on his social media account. The clip begins with him revealing the tattoo to the cast and crew on set, who are visibly stunned. The tattoo features a detailed portrait of Malavika along with the affectionate word 'Chechi' (sister) and a heart symbol inked just below it. But the most emotional moment came when Rajesh showed the tattoo to Malavika herself. Her immediate reaction — a mix of disbelief and overwhelming emotion — was a genuine "Oh my God," captured in the video. The actress later responded on social media with heartfelt words: 'Such a surprise can only be in dreams. Forever grateful, my little boy.' Fans have been flooding the comments section with admiration for Rajesh's devotion and for Malavika's humble acknowledgment of the gesture. Malavika Wales, a beloved name in Malayalam television, is currently seen in the lead role in Meenu's Kitchen. Known for her down-to-earth personality and strong connect with fans, she continues to be one of the most admired stars on the small screen.
