Google Photos redesigns Editor with AI features for 10th Birthday
Google
Photos
is rolling out a major editor overhaul that brings Pixel 9-exclusive AI features to Android devices worldwide, marking the
photo storage app
's 10th anniversary.
The redesigned editor consolidates Google's AI editing tools into a single interface, featuring the previously Pixel-exclusive Auto Frame and Reimagine functions. Auto Frame uses generative AI to suggest different compositions and fill blank spaces when cropping or widening images, while Reimagine allows users to add elements to photos through text descriptions.
The update introduces AI Enhance, which automatically combines multiple effects like
image sharpening
and object removal to produce three editing variations. Users can also tap specific areas of images to receive targeted editing suggestions, with contextual tools appearing for selected objects or backgrounds.
The interface redesign replaces the previous double-tiered menu system with three thumbnail options: Enhance, Dynamic, and the new AI Enhance feature. Controls for aspect ratio, flip, and rotate functions have been relocated above images for easier access.

India's Fintech sector projected to grow with focus on product expansion, risk control, and inclusion
. India's Fintech industry is growing with emphasis on safer lending, financial inclusion, and better risk control, according to a recent TransUnion CIBIL report. Fintech-led non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), which operate mainly through digital platforms, had an outstanding loan book of Rs 1.3 trillion by December 2024. This represents a sharp 32% year-on-year growth. Despite holding just 1% of the total loan balance across the lending industry, Fintech firms have made a big impact in small-ticket personal loans (STPLs). Nearly 89% of personal loans under Rs 50,000 originated from Fintech lenders, reflecting their strong grip on this segment. The report also highlights a clear shift towards secured loan products like loans against property and business loans. Business loan originations from Fintech lenders now make up 12% of all such loans in the industry. There is also a visible push toward underserved markets. More young and rural borrowers are turning to Fintech platforms, which is helping to promote financial inclusion. Still, even borrowers with strong credit scores are mostly receiving smaller loans, averaging under Rs 50,000. The report further points out that while Fintech lenders have the potential to grow in higher-ticket personal and consumer loans, they are yet to build lasting customer loyalty outside STPLs. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like [단독] 서울 임플란트 '33만원' 에 가능해 플란치과 더 알아보기 Undo Expanding their product range could help address this gap. There are also rising concerns. Delinquency in business and property loans is increasing, underlining the need for better credit risk monitoring. The report urges Fintechs to use tools like CreditVision, which offer deeper insights into borrower behaviour using trended data. Overall, while India's Fintech sector shows promise, sustainable growth of the sector will depend on how well it adapts to the evolving lending environment—by diversifying its products and strengthening its risk frameworks. Instagram users can now share full 3:4 aspect ratio photos and that means no cropping
If you use Instagram and are even remotely interested in photography, you would know about the common inconvenience that came with the platform: having to crop most of your mobile camera images to post them. But now, if you capture 3:4 images, Instagram finally allows you to post them as is, without cropping. This major announcement comes from the platform's head himself, Adam Mosseri. He posted on Threads that Instagram now supports 3:4 aspect ratio photos, which is the format almost every phone camera defaults to. So, from now on, if you upload a 3:4 image, it will reflect as is, without having the need to crop it. Also Read: Microsoft launches Xbox Copilot beta on Android app to assist gamers with real-time support Previously, the maximum ratio that Instagram allowed was 4:5. This meant having to post taller images by adding borders, which, of course, ruined the experience for many people and required multiple steps. Now, this will no longer be a problem since the supported aspect ratio has become taller, your taller 3:4 images will fit perfectly as well. This should give relief to many people, including creatives and designers who like to post portrait images but were previously limited by having to crop them. Instagram notes in their broadcast channel that while it does support 3:4 images, it will continue to support 1:1 square images and 4:5 aspect ratio images. This means more flexibility going forward. Instagram says that the new 3:4 aspect ratio photos will work with both single photo posts and carousels, so this applies to different content forms. We think this is going to help many people post their images as is, without having to compromise on the photo's resolution or content. MOBILE FINDER: iPhone 16 LATEST Price, Specs And More

WhatsApp to add collage, music stickers, and interactive features to status updates
WhatsApp is set to expand its Status feature with new creative tools which aim to enhance user interaction. The Status function, which operates like Stories on other social platforms, allows users to share text, photos, or videos that disappear after 24 hours. These updates will soon include more options such as collages, music stickers, and interactive elements within the app. Since March, WhatsApp users have been able to add music clips to their status updates by selecting from the app's music library. These clips last up to 15 seconds with photos and up to 60 seconds with videos. The latest update will enable users to convert these music clips into stickers, which will include a new way to integrate sound into their posts. Users will also have the option to share a song as a separate status update. Also read: Uber users can now book Delhi Metro tickets within the app: Here's how to do it WhatsApp will introduce a 'Layout' feature that lets users create collages with up to six images arranged in various patterns. Another addition is a sticker called 'Add Yours,' which encourages followers to respond by sharing their own photos in reply to a status. Users will also be able to transform any photo into a sticker, resize or reshape it, and include it in their status update. Meta, WhatsApp's parent company, confirmed that these features will begin rolling out soon and become widely accessible in the upcoming months. Currently, WhatsApp does not provide a simple logout feature. Users who want to stop using the app must uninstall it or delete their account. The upcoming logout option will change this by offering three choices: erase all data and preferences, keep all data and preferences, or cancel. If users select the erase option, all chats and data will be removed from the device. However, if they choose to keep their data, their messages, media and settings will remain on the device and be instantly available when they log back in. It brings WhatsApp in line with other messaging apps like Telegram that already offer this flexibility. The ability to keep data while logging out will make it easier for users to pause their activity without having to set up everything again when they return.
