The San Francisco 49ers continue to struggle to keep their players on the field, as they placed defensive end Bradlee Anae on injured reserve on Wednesday, which will end his 2025 season before it even begins. With wide receiver Malik Turner taking Anae's spot on the roster, the 49ers will have to make two more moves before they can officially bring in Bradley-King and Harris. The countdown to USC's 2025 football season is officially on! The Trojans kick off their new campaign 17 days from today. You need something to help you while away the days and hours in the spring and summer. This is one way to do so. In this new series, countdown to kickoff, we will be counting down the days by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. Today, we look at former USC cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace. Position: Cornerback Years played at USC: 2023 Career highlights: Roland-Wallace spent his first four seasons of college football at Arizona, playing against USC four times during that stretch. He transferred to the Trojans for his final year of eligibility in 2023 and started at cornerback that season. Roland-Wallace finished his lone year in Cardinal and Gold with 37 tackles, nine passes defended, and two interceptions. After USC: Roland-Wallace signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft. He impressed in camp and made Kansas City's 53-man roster, appearing in all 17 regular season games and all three of the team's postseason contests—including Super Bowl LIX. He finished his rookie season with 34 total tackles, one pass defended, one interception, and one forced fumble. Roland-Wallace will look to once again play a key role in the Chiefs' secondary this fall. USC safety Kamari Ramsey named to Bednarik Award watch list
Watch list season continues to roll on in college football. With it, USC players continue to earn preseason accolades. This week, safety Kamari Ramsey became the latest Trojan to earn preseason recognition when he was named to the Bednarik Award watch list. Ramsey will be entering his second season with the Trojans. After spending the first two years of his college football career at crosstown rival UCLA, he transferred to USC prior to last season, following defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn. Last year, Ramsey put up 60 total tackles, five passes defended, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception. With another year of working together with Lynn, the safety will be looking to do even bigger things in 2025. The Chuck Bednarik Award has been presented annually since 1995 to the best defensive player in college football. In the award's 30 years of existence, just one USC players continue has taken home the honor: linebacker Rey Maualuga in 2008. This fall, Ramsey will look to become the second Trojans to do so.
