War 2 Hindi Advance Booking Report: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR film sells GOOD 50,000 tickets in top chains for Thursday, with 2 days to go
War 2's Telugu version bookings should start tomorrow, and the bookings are expected to be heartening. However, considering the fact that it is, at the end of the day, a Bollywood movie and not a conventional Tollywood biggie which gets support from the local diaspora audience without much effort, the bookings are not expected to be bumper. The all India day 1 expectations are pinned at Rs 55 crore net, with day 2 numbers expected to be over Rs 60 crore net. War 2's Bookings Are Good, Though Not Exceptional
While the bookings of War 2 can be classified as good, given everything, what was really expected was excellent or bumper. The initial euphoria seen in some of the 2023 Bollywood biggies is not visible here. The masses are not totally on board and it will take some really strong word of mouth to get that section of audience to watch it. Fighter trended well but suffered immensely because of not getting the desired support from the masses. Whether War 2 changes that for Hrithik Roshan is still to be seen. War 2 Targets A Rs 100 Crore Gross Worldwide Start
The bookings of War 2 internationally are reasonable. A Rs 100 crore global opening day will be a touch and go for the Hrithik-Jr NTR actioner. Its release rival Coolie is cruising towards a number of around Rs 140 crore on the other hand. Since Hindi films are known to trend better than Tamil films due to less exhaustion of audiences on the opening day, it is expected that War 2 will eventually take the lead provided it lives up to its hype.

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani among others, continued with good bookings in India for the Hindi version. With the opening of bookings in the southern states, there was a significant increase in the film's momentum. With just one day to go, the actioner has sold 78,000 tickets in top chains like PVRInox and Cinepolis for the opening day, and the final count seems to be around 150,000-175,000 tickets. This sets the movie up for an opening day in the vicinity of Rs 30 crore, with a potential to reach Rs 35 crore net. War 2 Sells 78,000 Tickets In Top Chains With 1 Day To Go In Hindi; Gears Up For A Rs 30 Crore Plus Net Start; Telugu Bookings Start Well War 2 's bookings in Telugu states have started on a heartening note. Jr NTR fans have been aggressive with the bookings in the twin state. Obviously, the collections are not like a quintessential Tollywood movie because it is seen as a Bollywood film at the end of the day, limiting its potential. But, they are pretty solid. It will likely take the third biggest Bollywood opening for the Telugu dub, only behind Saaho and Adipurush. War 2 Will Aim For A Rs 50 Crore Plus Day 2 In Hindi War 2 will aim to smash Rs 50 crore plus net on Independence Day, for the Hindi version alone. All that the movie really requires is good reports to unleash its potential. The clash of War 2 with Coolie never felt like too big of an issue initially. However, Coolie has done extremely well to make inroads in markets where War 2 looked to be like the clear favourite. War 2's International Bookings So Far Are Strictly Ordinary War 2's international bookings so far are ordinary. A USD 2.5 million opening day and USD 8 million opening weekend is on the cards. Hairless Bulldog, Petunia, Crowned World's Ugliest Dog, Wins Rs 4 Lakh In Prize
The World's Ugliest Dog contest has picked a new winner this year - a two-year-old hairless English-French bulldog mix named Petunia. The pup from Eugene, Oregon, and her owner, Shannon Nyman, won a Rs 4.3 lakh ($5,000) prize during the event at the Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa, California, last week. Little Petunia emerged victorious by beating 10 competitors, which included Little Prince Wonder, an 8-year-old Chinese Crested, and Nezumi, a 13-year-old chihuahua. According to a report in New York Times, Petunia was rescued from a backyard breeder and hoarder in Las Vegas and brought to Oregon by Luvable Dog Rescue. Unfortunately, she doesn't have any hair because of her original breeder's unethical practices. "I think she's feeling great. She loves all the attention, she loves all the affection, all the humans petting her," Ms Nyman said. Having won the contest, Petunia will now appear on limited-edition cans of Mug Root Beer, a sponsor of the contest. She is being described as a "gentle soul who adores other dogs, cats and people," Last year, an old Pekingese named Wild Thang won the contest, having already participated in five editions of the competition previously. The runner-up in the competition was a 14-year-old pug named Rome. In the third place was a white-coated mixed-breed 14-year-old dog named Daisy Mae, who was rescued from the streets at age two and has lost her teeth, hair and vision. The World's Ugliest Dog contest has been held for nearly 50 years. It "celebrates the imperfections that make all dogs special and unique," per the website. "The contest speaks to the importance of advocating for the adoration of all animals and the benefits of adopting," it added. According to the website, the idea for the event came from Petaluma resident Ross Smith in 1971 as a way to generate fundraising revenue for the community's Old Adobe Association, and the Sonoma-Marin Fair has hosted the event since 1988. Many of the dogs entering the contest are rescued from shelters and puppy mills, making the event a great rehabilitation exercise for them.
