Sydney man charged after man stabbed to death on Easter Sunday in Prahran, Melbourne
A man has been charged with murder after a father-of-six was killed in an Easter Sunday brawl on a busy Melbourne street.
Ruka Carlson, 30, died following a brawl that broke out on Chapel St in Prahran about 1.30am Sunday.
Police were told a group of men assaulted Mr Carlson outside a nightclub on Chapel St before chasing him down the street.
Mr Carlson then suffered multiple stab wounds outside another licensed premises nearby.
Emergency services treated him at the scene, however he died on the way to the hospital.
A 35-year-old man from Lidcombe in Sydney's west was arrested at Melbourne Airport on Monday.
He was charged with affray and assault related offences before he was charged with one count of murder on Thursday.
The 35-year-old is set to front Melbourne Magistrates Court on September 4.
It's believed the two men were known to each other.
Detective Acting Inspector Chris Ellway earlier said Mr Carlson was known to police, and that he didn't believe it was a random attack.
Mr Carlson had six children with his fiancee, Monique, who revealed he'd said 'I love you' in his final text to her.
'Okay I'm just eating now and I'm coming home baby, I love you,' the text read, according to The Herald Sun.
His fiancee also described him as 'the most beautiful soul on earth' and a 'loving, caring, gentle' father.
Detectives have urged any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward, with the investigation ongoing.

Driver accused of fatal Mustang crash in Truganina, Melbourne granted bail
A man accused of being behind the wheel of a Mustang which hit the back of a parked semi-trailer, killing his passenger, has been released on provisional bail. Vikramjeet Singh, 23, allegedly hit the unoccupied vehicle on Dunmore Dr at Truganina, in Melbourne's west, about 1am last Wednesday. Singh's passenger, his 24-year-old girlfriend Arshdeep Kaur, died on impact. After being charged with dangerous driving causing death and careless driving, he faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday, which heard he had worked as a truck driver for three years. The court also heard Singh is in Australia on a bridging visa and has had had no criminal convictions or a record of bad driving in his six years in the country. Singh was granted bail with a $25,000 surety. He must report to police twice a week and is not allowed to leave Victoria or drive any sort of motor vehicle. Outside the court Singh's lawyer Hayden Rattray said: 'Mr Singh asked me to express his condolences to the family of the young woman who passed away'. A GoFundMe has been set up to help Kaur's family. In the fundraiser she was described as a 'kind and vibrant student'. 'Her sudden passing has deeply affected her friends and family, both here and in India. Arshdeep came to Australia with big dreams that ended far too soon.' Singh will face court again in November.

Kyrgios poses with alleged real life ‘gangsta rapper'
Nick Kyrgios has been pictured with a rapper who was involved in a vicious jailhouse fight and is accused of kidnapping, following his split from long-time partner Costeen Hatzi. The tennis star, who is set to play in the French Open for the first time in eight years in the doubles draw with Jordan Thompson, appears to be moving on from Hatzi. He is also in the process of selling his $1.8 million penthouse unit in Sydney. But it is the current company he is choosing to keep that will raise eyebrows. Kyrgios, who is never too far from a damning headline, posted a photo with Ali Younes — better known by his stage name Ay Huncho— from a gig the rapper played at the Frucition nightclub in Canberra earlier this month. 'Keep waiting on it @ayhuncho,' Kyrgios captioned the photo, which Ay Huncho re-shared. Younes is out on $1.8 million bail as he faces kidnapping and assault charges and was also involved in a fight at Parklea Correctional Centre in June last year. Police say Younes was in the waiting room when rival rapper Sesita 'Radistarz' Lyzwa walked past him. The pair started trading blows, and both were charged of affray. ‘Heart of gold': Tributes flow for young Wurundjeri father killed in north Melbourne home
A young father has been identified as the man killed inside a home in Melbourne 's north on Monday. Will Austin, 28, was found dead inside a home on Mitchell St at Glenroy, hours before another young man was charged with his murder near the NSW border. 'Will was a Wurundjeri warrior taken tragically,' his father, Bill Nicholson, told 'He lived his life with his Wurundjeri culture and family from a strong blood line who continue sovereign responsibility from our ancestors to care for the land, community, and keep culture strong.' The Wurundjeri elder said he was 'frustrated our young people are still dying in violence'. 'My son was strong and our mob will never forget him,' Nicholson said. Family members also paid tribute to Austin on social media, with relative Ky-ya Nicholson Wards noting that Austin had been optimistic about his future when she saw him in the days before his death. 'It doesn't feel real,' she wrote. 'You had a heart of gold and we could always still see the real you through the demons you were fighting.
