'Beautiful' husband dies in horror crash with ambulance as wife pays tribute
A man who died after his car crashed with an ambulance near Buckie has been named.
Alistair Stewart, from Inverness, passed away at the scene of the horror smash on the A98 at Arradoul on Monday.
The 36-year-old welder was driving a blue Renault Megane when it collided with an ambulance carrying a patient at around 6.50am.
Two male paramedics and the male patient from the ambulance were taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. Their injuries are not thought to be serious.
Alistair's wife Mikaela Stewart paid a heartfelt tribute to her husband, posting on Facebook: "My beautiful husband. Forever in mine and the kids' hearts. Love you."
She also shared a picture with her husband with an angel emoji and the words "Forever & Always Mr S."

Tributes described Alistair, who worked as a welder, as a "lovely guy" and a "gentleman".
Garry Jamieson said: "So sorry for your loss RIP Alistair Stewart. I still can't take it in - it's heartbreaking."
Fiona Foster said: "He was a lovely guy sending you the kids and Ali's family so much love."
Stacey Barr added: "Thinking of you Mikaela, the kids and your family at this sad time. Ali was a gentleman and I feel lucky to have known him."
Traffic cops shut the road on Monday as they launched an investigation into the crash.
The road remained closed throughout the night to allow Moray Council to carry out repair works and reopened on Tuesday.
Officers are appealing for information relating to the crash. Witnesses or any drivers with dash cam footage have been asked to come forward.
Sergeant Dave Cooper from the Road Policing Unit, Elgin said: 'Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and we continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

A Police Scotland statement said: 'A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a two-month-old baby boy. "Around 3pm on Sunday, 27 July, 2025, officers received a report of a baby having died within Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy. 'The man appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday, 14 August."

A post about the incident on the Police Scotland Greater Glasgow Facebook page said: "Officers are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop on Hawthorn Street in Glasgow. "The incident happened around 9.05pm on Saturday, 16 August, when a man entered the premises and sprayed a staff member with a substance before making off with a sum of cash. "Emergency services attended and the staff member, a 24-year-old man, was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. The suspect is described as white and of slim build. The comedy legend, 82, said he had become aware of multiple accounts impersonating him on social media and targeting his followers. They are encouraged to move the conversation over to a private messaging app before being asked to send money to secure merchandise or a meeting with Billy. Billy has insisted he would never engage directly with fans online and said his wife Pamela Stephenson, 75, is also being impersonated online as part of the scam. The Glasgow-born comic said his Facebook page is his only active social media account and warned that scammers can use AI to convince people they are in touch with him. In a statement issued on his official website, Billy said: "Dear friends, I have learned that, unfortunately, online scam artists are targeting my fans and supporters. "They are impersonating me, often reaching out to fans soliciting direct messaging. They create multiple deceptive social media and email accounts, and there could well be criminal intent. "For the protection of all my fans and supporters, please be aware of the following: I NEVER interact directly with fans or supporters, and would never suggest they direct message me, meet me, send me money or purchase goods directly. Billy retired from stand-up after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He discovered he had the illness 13 years ago after a doctor spotted him walking strangely through the lobby of a hotel in Los Angeles. He moved to Florida from his previous home in New York after doctors advised him to live in a warmer climate.
