Storms and muggy for Father's Day Weekend
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- We are tracking storms moving into the region this evening. One or two could be strong, but the best chance for severe weather remains to our west.
Saturday: Storms will enter the forecast again tomorrow. The rain will move in a little quicker than today, just after midday. Any storm that develop could bring heavy rainfall.
Father's Day: Scattered storms remain in the First Alert Forecast for Father's Day afternoon. Temperatures will sit in the lower 90s, but feel-like readings will reach into the upper 90s.
Next Week: We have one more day of high rain chances on Monday, and then the area slowly begins to dry out. There will still be a chance for rain each afternoon, but widespread showers are not expected next week. This is thanks to an area of high pressure building over the East Coast.
Despite the calmer weather, we will still be tracking hot and humid conditions. Afternoon highs will sit in the lower 90s, but heat index readings will be close to 100 degrees all next week.

Warm front puts Father's Day into the 70s, chances for storms push into next week
Spotty showers roll into Minnesota early Saturday morning, but will exit to the east east, allowing for some dry time. However, the clouds stick around keeping highs in the mid to upper 60s. There's a chance for an isolated shower or storm Saturday evening, but it looks like a better chance for scattered storms arrives overnight and again on Sunday, Father's Day. With a warm front slowly lifting in the north, temperatures will be a bit warmer, sliding into the mid to upper 70s for Father's Day. Even more storms are expected into the early part of the work week, but timing the waves that far out is difficult at this time. Stay with WCCO as we continue to fine tune this part of the forecast. High temperatures will continue to trend up into the 80s for most of next week. Greatest rain totals look to be across central and southern Minnesota, where some places may see a total of two to four inches of rain. The end of next week looks a little drier as the pattern tries to break for some sunshine.

While severe weather is unlikely, localized instances of flash flooding may occur due to tropical downpours. The forecast will be copied and pasted for Father's Day. Warm, humid, scattered storms
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Expect periods of showers and storms over the next several days. Some of the storms will be strong to severe, it's just a matter of when and where storms develop. It's a trend we'll continue to follow in the Storm Center. While an isolated shower or storm will be possible today, the best chance for the rain will hold off until later today in western South Dakota and move east overnight. Highs today will reach the 70s, 80s, and 90s. With the scattered storms tonight, lows will fall to the 50s and 60s. We'll put it on repeat for tomorrow. Scattered storms will develop in late afternoon and evening in western South Dakota and move east during the overnight. Highs for Father's Day will be in the 80s. Monday will feature another round of thunderstorms, but this time they will move into central and eastern KELOLAND a little sooner than over the weekend. The scattered storms will also be strong to severe, but the outlook covers more of central and eastern KELOLAND. Keep in mind the thicker humidity. Dew point temperatures will be in the 60s, possibily touching 70 in northwest Iowa. The active pattern will try to calm down by the end of the 7-day forecast. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
