Actor Salman Khan is all set to portray the iconic role of Galwan Valley war hero Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu. While training for his upcoming epic war drama based on the 2020 Indo-China clash, he is leaving no stones unturned. Khan has been focusing on staying true to playing a decorated officer as it's about 'honouring a legacy.'While speaking about the actor's ongoing intense prep work for the larger-than-life character, an independent industry source said, "Given the high-altitude challenges of shooting in Leh and the physical demands of portraying a decorated Army officer like Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, Salman has committed to an intense training regimen. The 2020 Galwan Valley clash was a violent skirmish between Indian and Chinese troops, escalating tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). It led to casualties on both sides, with reports indicating at least 20 Indian soldiers and 45 Chinese soldiers killed. Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu won the Maha Vir Chakra posthumously for his valour during the tensions with China in the Galwan valley.According to an earlier Bollywood Hungama report, the movie is touted to be based on the novel 'India's Most Fearless 3' by Rahul Singh and Shiv Aroor. The epic film will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
