Kajol Compares Ibrahim Ali Khan With Father Saif Ali Khan: ‘Camera Loves Both'
Sarzameen is an intense drama about an army officer's unwavering determination to defeat terrorism in Kashmir. The teaser for Kajol, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Sarzameen was officially unveiled some days back. Viewers are excited to see the trio working together, and the film will be released directly to OTT this month. Kajol would be sharing the screen with Ibrahim for the first time and previously has worked with his father, Saif Ali Khan as well. In her latest interview the actress made a comparison between the father-son duo. In conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Kajol praised both Ibrahim Ali Khan and Saif Ali Khan's on screen presence, stating that while they both have tremendous charisma, their on-set mannerisms reflect two very distinct styles. She said, 'Camera loves both of them. They both have this X-factor in is more of a 'main character energy' kind of person. Ibrahim, on the other hand, was much more reserved on set. I think he was trying to stay in character at that moment and be quiet and reserved." Kajol and Saif have been together in several significant films throughout the years. Their first collaboration was in 1994 with the romantic drama Yeh Dillagi, in which they co-starred with Akshay Kumar. They reunited for the action drama Bambai Ka Babu (1996), followed by Hameshaa (1997). Later, they reunited in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020). Sarzameen, starring Kajol, Prithviraj and Ibrahim, is an intense drama about an army officer's constant resolve to defeat terrorism in Kashmir. The teaser features a face-off between Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, hinting at the film's high-stakes confrontation. Fans are captivated by Ibrahim's new look. He is portrayed as an angry man with a full beard. Towards the end of the teaser, Ibrahim is seen approaching Prithviraj from behind, his gun pointed at him, setting the stage for a confrontation between their characters. Soumil Shukla and Arun Singh wrote the story and script, while the film is produced by Karan Johar. Kayoze Irani directed the film, which will be available on JioHotstar on July 25. On the work front, Kajol was most recently seen in Maa while Ibrahim Ali Khan made his debut in Nadaaniyan. Saiyaara: CBFC cuts 10-second intimate sequence of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's 'body exposure visuals'
Just a week after sparking controversy over censoring a kiss in James Gunn's Superman, the (CBFC) has raised eyebrows again, this time for ordering cuts in the upcoming romantic drama Saiyaara. The film that marks the big-screen debuts of and , scorched the internet with its steamy trailer and song sequences. However, ahead of its release, the CBFC has reportedly asked the makers to make several modifications to secure a U/A 16+ certificate. The Cuts According to Bollywood Hungama, the board demanded the removal of four "objectionable" words, asking that they be replaced with 'appropriate' alternatives. However, the specific words and their replacements were not disclosed in the official list. Additionally, the makers have been ordered to remove or alter a 10-second sequence featuring 'sensual, intimate, body exposure visuals.' The report further adds that a safety disclaimer has to be added in scenes featuring two-wheelers, reminding viewers to wear a helmet. Superman Controversy Just last week, the CBFC faced backlash for editing a kiss between Superman and Lois Lane in DC's latest superhero film. The 30-second clip was reportedly cut short for its release in India. The film, however, has been a hit at the box office, earning over Rs 30 crore in just its first week. Advance Bookings Meanwhile, Saiyaara is expected to open on approximately 1,750 screens across India. According to advance booking reports, the film is said to be tracking an impressive advance bookings collection estimate between Rs 15 crore to Rs 20 crore. The final runtime of the film stands at 2 hours, 36 minutes, and 50 seconds. The movie hits screens in India on Friday, July 18.
