Don't buy a Google Pixel phone until you hear from me
What I mean by that is there's no point of spending money on a Pixel 9 phone today or tomorrow, since the Pixel 10 is just around the corner. I'm not saying that you should buy the Pixel 10 right away, either.
Bear with me, people. I feel like I'm saying lots of stuff without saying anything today.
You'll have to wait until the big Google event at which the Pixel 10 family will be unveiled:
Then, and only then, one will be able to make a fully informed decision. Sure, there's an ocean of information in the likes of leaks, rumors and preliminary claims about the new Pixel 10 phones, but until Google lifts the curtain, nothing is 100% certain. As you've probably heard, these are the expected new models: Pixel 10
Pixel 10 Pro
Pixel 10 Pro XL
XL Pixel 10 Pro Fold Let's dive deeper and see who these handsets are meant for, what they bring to the table (if anything at all) and if it's worth spending big $$$ on them.

The Pixel 10 is the baseline model, the "vanilla" one – but a flagship nonetheless, coming in its most accessible package. The device is expected to feature a 6.3-inch Actua display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2424 x 1080 pixels, maintaining the smooth and vibrant visuals of its predecessor.Powered by the Google Tensor G5 processor, it should come with 12 GB of RAM and storage options starting at 128 GB. The triple rear camera setup – 48MP main, 13MP ultra-wide, and 10.8MP telephoto – will allegedly support 20x zoom and 4K video recording. Battery life is estimated at over 24 hours, with support for the new Pixelsnap wireless charging system. Key specs: 6.3-inch Actua display, 120Hz
Google Tensor G5 chip, 12 GB RAM
48MP + 13MP + 10.8MP triple camera, 20x zoom
24+ hour battery, Pixelsnap wireless charging
Rumors suggest the Pixel 10 will gain a telephoto camera, likely the 11MP Samsung 3J1 used in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. However, this upgrade could come with trade-offs, as leaks point to a smaller main sensor and a 13MP Sony IMX712 ultra-wide sensor, both previously found in the midrange Pixel 9a.
While early reports hinted at gimbal-level image stabilization, recent claims indicate this may be reserved for the Pro model. The Pixel 10 is also expected to improve macro photography by combining telephoto and ultra-wide lenses for sharper, more detailed close-ups with natural background blur.

The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are expected to bring Google's most advanced hardware to date, designed for users seeking high-end performance and photography. The Pro model is to retain a 6.3-inch Super Actua display, while the XL could expand to 6.8 inches. Both share the Google Tensor G5 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and storage options likely reaching 512 GB or beyond. The camera system is a significant highlight: a 50MP primary sensor, two 48MP supporting snappers, and an impressive 100x zoom capability, alongside 8K video recording. The 42MP front-facing camera also supports autofocus for professional-quality selfies.
Key specs: 6.3-inch / 6.8-inch Super Actua displays
Google Tensor G5, 16 GB RAM
50MP + 48MP + 48MP triple camera, 100x zoom
8K video, Pixelsnap wireless charging
Colors for the Pro series should include Obsidian, Porcelain, Jade, and Moonstone, providing a mix of understated and vibrant choices. While much of the core hardware mirrors last year's Pixel 9 Pro lineup, the enhanced zoom technology and new charging solution could make these models stand out.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is Google's upcoming foldable, targeting users who want flexibility without sacrificing performance. It's claimed to feature an 8-inch Super Actua Flex primary display and a 6.4-inch Actua secondary screen for a seamless multitasking experience. Powered by the same Tensor G5 chip as the rest of the Pixel 10 family, the book style handset could offer 16 GB of RAM and storage options up to 1 TB. The triple rear camera system, with an expected 20x zoom, mirrors the imaging capabilities of Google's high-end non-foldable models. Key specs: 8-inch Super Actua Flex display, 6.4-inch secondary screen
Google Tensor G5, 16 GB RAM
Advanced triple camera, 20x zoom
24+ hour battery, up to 1 TB storage
Battery life is projected to exceed 24 hours, supported by what is believed to be a ~5,000mAh cell – an upgrade aimed at addressing previous endurance concerns. Pixelsnap wireless charging is also expected, marking a consistent feature across the Pixel 10 range. With a likely October release, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will directly compete with devices like Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7, offering a compelling alternative for those ready to invest in premium foldable technology.
Waiting for the Pixel 10 's release could be the smarter move. The Pixel 9 - if that's what you need – will almost certainly drop in price once the new model hits shelves, giving you a solid deal on last year's flagship.
At the same time, the Pixel 10 could see big discounts by Black Friday, making it a tempting option at a lower cost. Either way, a little patience could mean more phone for less money.

T-Mobile launches its Revvl 8 smartphone, packing for free features you rarely see under $200
T-Mobile has introduced the Revvl 8, the newest phone in its budget-friendly lineup. It will be available starting August 14 exclusively from T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile , and will be priced at either $199.99 or free with certain offers. If you don't happen to be familiar with the Revvl series, let's just say that it is T-Mobile 's in-house phone brand. Those stories you've heard of customers walking into a T-Mobile store with a free phone? It could very well be one of these, as they are designed to give customers affordable smartphones that still deliver certain specifications. Now, the Revvl 8 joins the Revvl Tab 2 in offering devices built to work well with T-Mobile 's network and features. The Revvl 8 has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2408) and runs Android 15 out of the box. It uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It also has expandable with microSD up to 2TB and includes Gemini AI for on-device assistance. The main camera is 50MP with optical image stabilization, paired with a 2MP macro lens. It supports up to 2K video at 30fps and 1080p at up to 60fps. The front camera is 13MP and can record 1080p video. Battery life comes from a 5000mAh unit with 25W fast charging, rated for up to 37 hours of talk time. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and satellite compatibility. The phone also has face unlock, a fingerprint sensor, and nano SIM support. Full specs of the Revvl 8. | Image credit — T-Mobile At T-Mobile , customers can get the Revvl 8 free when adding a line on most plans or when trading in any device on select plans. Metro by T-Mobile is offering it free to new customers switching to plans starting at $40 per month. Both carriers include a five-year price guarantee for talk, text, and data. In the sub-$200 5G market, the Revvl 8 competes with phones like the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G and Motorola Moto G 5G (2024). These alternatives may have more polished designs or OLED displays, but the Revvl 8's strengths are its network integration, long-term security updates, and carrier perks. The Revvl 8 offers strong value, especially through carrier promotions. Still, the IPS LCD may feel dated compared to OLED panels on some competitors, and the 2MP macro camera adds little practical use. However, I believe that for those looking for a capable 5G phone tied to a plan with solid perks, this is a good option to consider.

OnePlus 15 to be very, very black
The OnePlus 15 has already been rumored to go through a significant redesign compared to its predecessor, with the big round camera island being replaced with a rectangular one that will be left-aligned at the top of its rear. But that's not all. Apparently, OnePlus is testing a "SuperBlack" colorway, which will be the blackest black we've ever seen on a smartphone, so black in fact that it will resemble a black hole. According to tipsters who have seen the prototype, it's "far better looking than imagined", for what it's worth. OnePlus 13 The OnePlus 15's 6.78-inch display will get a resolution downgrade to "1.5K", but might boast a higher refresh rate, and will come with extremely tiny and symmetrical bezels on all sides. They will be significantly smaller than on the OnePlus 13. The phone also has "upgraded multi-function buttons", whatever that means, and the display's quality is said to be excellent despite the lower resolution, with amazing brightness and detail levels and lower power consumption. As you may have gathered, OnePlus is skipping the number 14 due to the presence of "4" which is considered bad luck in Chinese culture. The OnePlus 15 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which is getting official in late September. It's expected to sport a 7,000 mAh battery and a triple rear camera system with a 50 MP main snapper and a periscope zoom camera as well. Source 1 (in Chinese) | Source 2 (in Chinese)
