Docherty confident Crichton can lead Rangers' SWPL title charge
'I have know Leanne for a long time,' she said. 'We played together and I know that she is a winner. She is coming here to win things and make sure that we are going into games with the right approach.
'That isn't just one off games or the big games but making sure we are turning up week in, week out. There is pressure when you play at a club like Rangers but that pressure is because we want to be winners.

'That is the message that Leanne will get through. I think we have all had time to process it now but not winning the league but it was tough. We have to use it as fuel this season.
'We have come very close but obviously we want to go and cross that line and I think it means being consistent across the board.
'We were switched on last season in terms of goals and the possibility of the title going to goal difference but we fell short in certain moments.
'That's what has to change.'
Meanwhile, Hibs striker Eilidh Adams has accepted that Grant Scott's side will find this season a different challenge again as they look to defend a title that few expected them to claim.
They host Aberdeen at Meadowbank this afternoon with the striker determined that the Hibees can buck expectations again.
'It was incredible for us and if we were all being honest I think we would say that even we didn't think we would go all the way and win the league,' said the striker.
'But having achieved it was just an amazing moment for us. It took a long time for it to actually sink in that we had done it but having had a taste of it we want more success now.
'We know that teams will write us off again this season but we feel that we have been over the course now and we are determined to go and challenge again.
'It is difficult – you can see that across recent years as teams have struggled to defend the title – but we are excited rather than intimidated by that. We are champions and with that comes a bit of pressure.'
Celtic had a season to forget last term as they finished fourth.
There has been chaos behind the scenes this summer with ten departures and only two arrivals to date.
They are away to Hearts today with Chloe Craig, who missed the season with an ACL, accepting that last term wasn't good enough.
'On a personal level it was obviously tough but in terms of the team, just having to watch and not be able to influence was really challenging.
'We know what it is like to win silverware and titles so we are determined to be back in amongst it this season.'
Emma Brownlie has swapped Hearts for Glasgow City and is excited to make her mark at Petershill.
City have endured back-to-back seasons with no silverware, something they are out to arrest this term.
'100% we believe we are going out to try and be as successful as we possibly can be,' said she said. 'I am excited to get started here at City and I feel that everyone is ready to go and challenge for the title.'

Rangers transfer twist as Hamza Igamane lands Lille lifeline amid Dor Turgeman alarm bell
The Ibrox striker merry-go-round looks set to jolt into full swing Lille boss Bruno Genesio has publicly demanded the club sign a striker after failing to land Rangers striker Hamza Igamane last summer. The Light Blues new owners 49ers Enterprises have stood firm on their £15million valuation of the striker throughout the summer - leading to the Ligue 1 side cooling their interest. Lille president Olivier Letang previously admitted the club were in no hurry to get a deal done - opening the door for other suitors with Record Sport understanding that Feyenoord are among the club considering an offer. But the approach from the club supremo appears to have left his manager frustrated. L'Equipe report that the boss has considered walking away from the job over the lack of incoming stars - but that now according to "Genesio's entourage he and Letang seem to have made amends." Going into the clash with Stade Brest, Genesio was put on the spot about his transfer demands. He said: "I spoke of concern last week and some journalists said that I was shirking my responsibilities. That's not the case. "The transfer window, for me, is incomplete. There are still two weeks left before the end, we still need to recruit to have a stronger squad in terms of quantity to allow us to play on all three fronts. "We need full-backs, a central defender and a versatile striker." A move could leave the Light Blues looking for a new frontman - with Greek outlet Sport Time suggesting that AEK still maintain their interest in Cyriel Dessers. Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Dor Turgeman has been on the agenda - with the Scottish Premiership club looking to replace either Igamane or Dessers with the Israel international in a £4million move. However, MLS side New England Revolution have reportedly already made their move with reports suggesting that a £2.6million bid was rejected - with talks ongoing. And now one time Celtic flop Eyal Berkovic - who previously advised the 21-year-old to make the switch to the Scottish Premiership as a "stepping stone" to the Premier League - has raised an alarm bell over a potential switch to Ibrox. Speaking to Walla, he said: "I said on the radio that Dor Turgeman should not play in the United States. "What stood before my eyes was the fact that I was certain that from the United States he would not be able to move to Europe. "As far as I am concerned, soccer is in Europe and not in the United States, but in the last 24 hours I received the data: dozens of players are sold every season from the MLS to Europe; more than 10 every season are sold to the top five leagues in Europe; "That data definitely shows that many players are moving from the United States to Europe, and if that is the case, I take back what I said about Turgeman. He needs to make the move to New England. "The fact that he will play there will be less of an interest to me and to us here in Israel. We want to see Israeli soccer players play in England, Germany or Italy. But if from New England he can move there, let him make that move."

Jayden Meghoma explains the key Rangers factors in his loan transfer after Brentford exit
The left-back has become the 10th signing of the summer at Ibrox New Rangers recruit Jayden Meghoma insists he'll be up to speed in no time as he looks forward to reuniting with Russell Martin. The Brentford left-back has become the Ibrox boss' 10th new signing of the summer after joining Rangers on a season-long loan. Martin has been forced to act quick to get the former Southampton kid on board with Jefte on the verge of a £6million move home to Brazilian side Palmeiras. And it means Meghoma could be plunged into a baptism of fire on Tuesday night as his new side prepare for a £40million Champions League showdown with Club Brugge. The Light Blues are still waiting for international clearance to come through but are hopeful they will have the paperwork signed off in time for the 19-year-old to face the Belgians. And if it does, Meghoma says it won't take him long to click back into Martin's way of playing having made his senior debut under the former Saints boss this time two years ago. He said: 'I'm very excited. It's a fantastic club and I know a lot about its history. 'Knowing the manager was probably the biggest influence coming here. I know Russell from my time at Southampton, I think he's a fantastic coach and I understand the way he plays, so I think for me to get integrated into the team, it'll be quite quick. 'It makes you feel more at ease because you know how he plays. He's a manager that I'm familiar with. 'All the learnings I've taken from him over the past, I can still remember. It's fantastic for me to get integrated straight away and understand how to play his style of football. 'Russell handed me my debut at Southampton. I think it was against Gillingham in the Carabao Cup. I felt comfortable straight away. 'The way he played, there's a lot of possession-based football and it's something I really enjoy, so I thank him for that. 'When the deal was presented to me, I just thought straight away it's a fantastic opportunity for myself and my family. I was always going to be here because it's an amazing club and a fantastic club that has so much history. So, yeah, it was always Rangers. 'The main thing is results. If I can add to that, it'll be amazing.' Rangers do not have an option to make the deal permanent but Martin is excited about the loan swoop nonetheless. He said: 'I am really pleased to welcome Jayden to Rangers. I have worked with him before, and I know exactly what he brings. He is a young player with big potential, real athleticism and a great attitude. 'He is hungry to learn and improve, and I'm confident he'll thrive in this environment. We're excited to help him take the next step in his career here at Ibrox.'

Rico Lewis keen to stay at ‘dream club' Manchester City
The England international produced the assist for the opening goal as City began their quest for a seventh title in nine years by thrashing Wolves 4-0 at Molineux on Saturday. That came amid rumours linking the 20-year-old with a move to Nottingham Forest but, while manager Pep Guardiola has said more than once he would like to trim his squad, Lewis does not intend to depart. 34' ⚽️ Haaland37' ⚽️ Reijnders61' ⚽️ Haaland81' ⚽️ Cherki Highlights from our opening day win at Wolves in the @premierleague ✨ — Manchester City (@ManCity) August 16, 2025 The City academy graduate said: 'I've never, ever seen myself at a different club. I've always wanted to play for City. 'It's my dream club, and like you see (here), when I'm playing with the kind of players that I'm playing with, it brings out the best in me, so I'm so happy. 'Everyone wants assurance and security but, at the end of the day, it's on me to perform. It's on me to take the chances. After that, I can't blame myself. 'If I take my own chances, I do it. If I don't, then I have to work and get better.' After losing the title last season after four successive victories, City started the new campaign with a strong statement. Erling Haaland scored either side of a Tijjani Reijnders strike and substitute Rayan Cherki added a fourth late on. Tijjani Reijnders produced a superb performance at Molineux (Bradley Collyer/PA) Reijnders also had a hand in both Haaland goals in a highly impressive Premier League debut. Lewis said: 'As much as we can we forget about last season, but obviously it's in the back of our minds and we could say it's fuelling the fire for us. 'There's always hunger but I think there could be additional hunger now that it's not our crown to defend. 'There's something that we're chasing. We're so focused on this season. We've already had the Club World Cup so we feel much stronger, together as a team, and I think that's the main thing, we feel like a unit.' James Trafford made a confident debut in the City goal after number one Ederson withdrew due to illness. He was beaten in the first half but Marshall Munetsi was clearly offside, while Wolves also went close when Jorgen Strand Larsen shot narrowly wide. Vitor Pereira wants to bring in new faces at Wolves (Bradley Collyer/PA) Manager Vitor Pereira admitted the club need to bring in reinforcements before the transfer deadline. The Portuguese, who engineered an escape from relegation last season, said: 'Of course, we need more options to be stronger, more options with quality to improve our squad. 'Before the next game will be difficult but my expectation is that the club can bring three, four players with quality before the end of the market. 'This league is very tough and we need to add more quality.'
