The NASCAR 2026 schedule, featuring 38 races, has reportedly been shared by The Athletic and includes several major changes. The new year is set for more circuit replacements, while two venues that featured this year won't be returning in 2026.
The new season begins on February 1st at the Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and ends on November 8th at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida. Speaking of the circuits that have been excluded from the 2026 schedule, Mexico City's Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez has been removed, along with the Chicago street race, which has been paused for a year. The return of Chicagoland Speedway next year replaces the street race.
The most prominent track addition to NASCAR's 2026 schedule is the new race at San Diego's Coronado Naval Base. Another change includes the return of North Wilkesboro Speedway's short track to the regular season, as Dover's one-mile concrete oval is set to take over as the host of the non-championship All-Star Race.
Homestead-Miami replaces the playoff finale race at Phoenix. Notably, the short-track showcase inside the Los Angeles Coliseum, which was added a few years ago, won't be returning in 2026.

Two Georgia Bulldogs make freshman All-American team

Georgia football will have to rely on some young players contributing to reach their goals for the season. On3 dropped their freshman All-American team and Georgia has two players on that list. On offense, offensive lineman Juan Gaston was a selection. The freshman is listed at 6-foot-7, 360-pounds is in a three-man competition for the starting right guard job. Gaston has amazing size and head coach Kirby Smart has said that he has been getting into better shape since being an early enrollee. Gaston was ranked a five-star recruit and the nation's No. 18 ranked player, per 247Sports. On defense, highly-touted defensive lineman Elijah Griffin was another Georgia freshman All-American selection. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound defensive lineman already has drawn comparisons to Georgia great and All-Pro defensive tackle Jalen Carter. Griffin is the headliner of this freshmen class that could see several key contributors for the Bulldogs. Expect to see Griffin, a former five-star recruit, to put his talent on display on Saturday for the Bulldogs early and often. Griffin was ranked as the consensus No. 1 defensive lineman and a top-five recruit across all recruiting services. Three Georgia Bulldogs also earned USA TODAY Sports preseason All-American honors.

Caitlin Clark's return to Fever lineup remains mystery

Print Close By Ryan Gaydos Published August 21, 2025 Caitlin Clark has been on the bench nursing an injury since the Indiana Fever were on the road against the Connecticut Sun just moments away from the All-Star break. Since then, her return to the floor has been closely guarded. Clark's injured right groin has failed to heal enough for her to even return to the practice floor. Fever head coach Stephanie White told reporters that there was no timetable for her to return to the lineup. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON "Until she can get into practice and until you guys see her in practice, it's really status quo," she told reporters on Wednesday. To make matters more frustrating, multiple reports indicated on Wednesday that Clark suffered a bone bruise in her left ankle while rehabbing from her groin injury. A source told the Indy Star the ankle issue wouldn't have affected her timeline. Sophie Cunningham, who is also set to miss the rest of the season following a torn MCL against the Sun, dropped a few nuggets about Clark's injury and recovery process. "She doesn't even know (when she'll be back). Literally, it's a day-by-day legit type of thing," she said on the "Show Me Something" podcast. "Yeah, it's close, you have to remember she would be playing if she wasn't in the WNBA right now. At this level, with how deep and how good people are nowadays in our league, which is the best it's ever been just trying to get her back in game shape is what they're trying to do." FEVER STAR SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM HIT WITH THIRD WNBA FINE AFTER PAIGE BUECKERS COMMENT ON HER PODCAST Cunningham insisted she wasn't withholding any information. The Fever said on July 24 that the sharpshooter "underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week, which confirmed that no additional injuries or damage were discovered." Clark's return remains one of the biggest mysteries in the WNBA as the regular season comes to an end. She's missed 22 games so far this season with three separate muscle injuries. She never missed a game in college and played in every Fever game last season when she won the WNBA Rookie of the Year award. See inside ex-NASCAR champion's $12M Lake Norman mansion

A Mooresville estate owned by NASCAR star Jamie McMurray will hit the market on Thursday, Aug. 20, for $12 million, Corcoran HM Properties listing agents Josh Tucker and Joey Adams confirmed to Axios. Why it matters: The listing underscores Mooresville's — and greater Charlotte's — surge in luxury real estate demand, especially from affluent individuals connected to NASCAR and motorsports. Catch up quick: McMurray is a Missouri native best known for winning both the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400 in 2010 — one of NASCAR's rarest feats. Only three drivers have pulled it off in the same season: Dale Jarrett (1996), Jimmie Johnson (2006), and McMurray (2010). McMurry has retired from racing and is now a TV analyst for Fox Sports and the CW, covering NASCAR. The intrigue: Nearby Mooresville luxury transactions include Martin Truex Jr.'s $7.5 million lakefront Euro‑style home and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s record‑setting $12.2 million sale earlier this year, Mooresville Now reported. Zoom in: McMurray's mansion sits on nearly 34 acres along the Brawley School Road peninsula on Lake Norman. At 9,000 square feet, it has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. A gated driveway leads to a four-car garage — a nod to McMurray's racing past — built by Arcadia and designed by Harry Schrader in 2015. Other highlights include a turf-lined pool, pool house and private lake access from the dock. Take a look around.
